The song "Sacrificed Sons" is about the events of 9/11. So it's sort of has a common theme to this song. Dream Theater is from Long Island, only about an hour by train from Manhattan. Sorry, don't know your names but your wife makes such insightful comments. I hope you enjoyed the concert. It was actually on my birthday as it turns out.
Fun fact: In the album version they close the song by reciting the "Battle Hymn of the Republic". Suggestion: "Beyond This Life" from this same concert. Progressive AF, plus a 10-minute improv section that blows the mind
Great reaction guys! DT is also one of my favorite bands and it was so refreshing to hear that comment at the end of how they are all soul because yeah for many people they can be very technical and too much wankery and no soul, and even I recognize that some songs suffer from overly complex parts that don't serve too well the flow of the song. But hearing that makes me realize that yeah, that's what makes them special and is their way of expressing themselves. If they listened to the critics we wouldn't have had the masterpiece that is Scenes from a Memory after they were pushed by record studios to be more accessible with Falling into Infinity.
Oh yes guys. Thank you so much for reacting to Dream Theater one of my favourite bands.... bearing in mind I'm a 65 yr old rock and metal fan and love so many bands DT are right up there. I bought the first album When Dreams and Day Unite...when it firstcame out. It was a good album... with a different vocalist...but the band went up so many levels when Images and Words came out. It was very interesting to hear the view about the progressive style of the band. This album still divides opinion with some of the fans ...who thought it was too heavy. I love this album along with the others ...the themes of the album are heavy ...and I think the music suited it perfectly. I too shed a tear during the song and I have never done that before. It's hard to pick one song from the album....so I will pick two😂... Endless Sacrifice and Honor Thy Father. Thank you so much for your channel. Looking forward to your next reaction. Peace and love from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️
Train Of Thought is my favorite DT album, as AS I AM became my personal credo/theme. Matter of fact, on release day, I was going to Best Buy to grab my copy. I entered and the automatic doors opened in sync to the beginning of As I Am blasting thoughout the store.. \m/
12:23 I think "unconsenting" is specifically referring to David Koresh's "wives", who were forced to be with him, and often, underage 🤢😖 The lyrics before that were specifically talking about him and his cult, the Branch Davidians, and the 80 people k¡lled in the Waco siege ("80 murdered in the name of God, 40 sons and daughters, Unconsenting plural wives, Perversions in the name of God").
Although it is a criticism on religious fanaticism as a whole, I believe it is more specifically about the Dravidians. It is one of my favorite DT songs.
Hi gooday, would you please might do a reaction of our first single recently released titled "Page 1" by ERIKA. Im your fan from Philippines . Ans hope you like it thankyou so much❤️
The bad thing about seeing In the Name of God live is that this is Dream Theater at their peak. They are still awesome but it leaves you wishing you could have seen earlier Dream Theater live such as the Budokan show.
I don't get the love for train of thought. For me As I am is a weak opener and the dying soul along with honor thy father are too scattershot. The other songs are excellant though especially the instrumental. I just don't think this album is consistently great
I love the album, at one point it was my go to driving album. Morning drive to work was always good with that album. Although, my favorite is and always will be Octavarium.

I saw them last may. God damn 20+ yrs of listening to them and they still play like it's on a CD player. They're the best!
My favorite band with my favorite album of theirs
The majesty and extreme skillness of Dream Theater ✨🤌🏻✨

I enjoyed your reaction to one of my favorite songs. Dream Theater is the best. ☮🤘
The calm genius of Dream Theater!!
