    In Yorkshire there are at least two traditional combinations - cheese with cake and hot pork pies with mushy peas.

    England is the cheese capital of the world with over 700 different cheeses, over 100 more than France. And if you include all of the UK it's over 750.
    England's most famous cheese and the most famous cheese in the world is Cheddar Cheese. Cheddar was first made in the town of Cheddar in the county of Somerset in South West England in 1170 making Cheddar Cheese 852 years old. Cheddar is famous for its cheese and its Gorge where Cheddar Cheese is matured in the caves where the humidity and temperature are perfect for maturing cheese, and its still matured in the caves today. Cheddar Gorge is a great summer's day out with cheese shops, traditional pubs, restaurants, stunning views across the Mendip Hills, lakes, caves and beautiful walks up the Gorge. Definitely worth a day out.
    We love our cheese in England. Some great cheeses other than Cheddar are Stilton, Wendsleydale, Red Leicester, Double Gloucester, Stinking Bishop and soo many more.
    Great video BTW, you seem at home with the British lifestyle. 😁🇬🇧

      Wow! Didn’t know any of this! I think we’d really enjoy an English cheese tour! Thanks for watching the video, definitely loved our time in London and can’t wait to come back to the UK!

      Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. Stilton. I get goose bumps thinking about. As well as thinking about how much I spent on it while I lived in the UK.

      English cheese is several grades lower than the continental classics - but still passable in a sandwich with some Branston pickle - to provide flavour.

    • @OblivionGate
      @OblivionGate 2 года назад +1

      @@cahillgreg and what continental classics are you referring to Parmesan??! Brie??! Roquefort??!. You obviously know nothing about English cheese or English produce in general. England has some of the highest food standards in the world and doesn't use cheap alternatives to make their cheese. Cheddar Cheese for instance is the best in the world for a reason. Cheddar in the Mendip Hills is a unique region that has a lot of rain and the lush grass that the cows eat are fertilised by silt and other incredibly rich nutrients that are washed down the valley, this makes Cheddar Cheese including the fact that they use unpasteurised milk such a tasty cheese. Most other Cheddar Cheese makers in the world use the more undesirable pasteurised milk to make their Cheddar.
      You really don't know what you're talking about England has some of the best Cheeses in the world for a reason. England doesn't cut corners when making cheese or any other produce. England has over a thousand year old culinary history and a rich food heritage.
      If you're going to make a statement like that I suggest you have proof to back it up. My guess is you're one of these modern people who love to hate on England and the UK in general for past issues. Either way you're wrong. Unless you can point to a specific cheese with ingredients that are inferior when made by the English then ill take your comment as a joke written by an idiot.

    How much you paid for cheese tasting?

    • @MaxandSidney
      @MaxandSidney  2 года назад +1

      In total, less than 20 pounds, but we chose a lot of the cheapest options. It can definitely add up quickly with the more expensive plates 😆

    It tends to be called chutney not jam in England. Jam is normally sweeter and is also used in puddings as well as on toast etc, but chutney is normally paired with cheese.
