Can't wait to see a next video....sms
Karolyn... I use a see-thru quilting ruler to cut my fondant in equal pieces.
That's a great tip, thank you so much!!
Oh wow. I just realized that I should def get a rolling pin like yours !!!! I have been using just those white long rollers that they sell at michaels. With those rubberband ends to guide how thick you want your fondant... but I can't do a long strip easily like yours. Lol. It's hard to explain. But you can keep rolling since the pin rolls and your hands don't. Where as the one I use, I have to keep turning the pin to continue further.
I get it at Bed Bath and Beyond!

@@KarolynsKakes thank you!! Totally getting that!
What else can I use instead of the flower foam thingy
For the foam pad, they sell "kneeling pads" all over the place (check out Dollar Tree)! Love your videos Karolyn!
Yes! Thank you!!
Unfortunately, kneeling pads have a strong chemical smell. Good idea, though!
I love this cake and I think I’ll use this technique on my daughter’s birthday cake. I was going to pipe ruffles with a petal tip but this will look more “wow”. Thank you! How long do you store your fondant cakes in the fridge? They never get sticky or wilted?
I store them for a few days. In the warmer months, you have to make sure you gradually bring it to room temp. So take it out of the fridge into a cold air conditioned room. That will help control the stickiness.
@@KarolynsKakes re
I have that super long white rolling pin, I think Wilton makes it. It’s just a long tube
I have that one, I like something with handles. Do you find it easier to use one without handles on it?
@@KarolynsKakes I think with handles is probably easier. But I like the length of this one. Not sure they make them with handles that long
Love this cake. I saw a ballerina cake with a ruffled tutu. The Ballerina was bent over her dress and her hands were forward laying on the dress. It was so beautiful, do you know how to make that?
I’m sorry I never made something like that before 😥
Just started following you as I've learnt alot in less than 1hr watching your videos ❤
Please how many layers is this 8" cake ?
I bake in 2" high pans. So for one 8" cake, I make 2 layers. And then I torte them into 2 pieces each. So essentially there are 4 layers in the cake.
This video explains what I mean!

@@KarolynsKakes thanks x😊
Is the fondant still soft enough to be cut after adding Tylose Powder?
Yes! The only time it's too hard is when I add a lot of it for something like a topper that would need to stand on its own.
@@KarolynsKakes Thank you for the information!! I really appreciate that you share your experiences and knowledge with everyone!!
I like winware aluminum rolling pin.
Thank you! I'm going to look that up.
I've tried a PVC pipe 1 1/2 inches
@@shayoncebrowne9956 I never thought of that! Great idea.
How do you put a fondant covered cake in the fridge without the fondant getting sticky? I’m always nervous to put fondant in the fridge!
Beautiful as usual.
I have a video request Ms. Karolyn. You give tips always but...
When you are able to breath a bit...
Can fix yourself a cup of coffee (or whatever you wish), sit down, relax, turn tha’ camera on and make a ‘specifically focused video’ having a conversation with your ‘peeps’ (us☺️) things concerning fondant cakes?
•storage conditions for completed cakes till pick-up or delivery.
•fondant over buttercream VS. fondant over ganache **
•if you prefer buttercream under fondant-which ‘type’
•coloring big batch fondant vs. purchasing
•if making fondant, how far in advance
Whatever else you can think of? This way it’s a designated Q&A for us?
It’s much needed and we trust and value your input.
🙇🏽♀️❤️🙏🏾
And oh... my client’s sister LOVED her Birthday Cake. She said that AMButter Cream (your recipe) was ‘talking real good to her’😂.
I flavored it with a bit of raspberry too!
I’m so happy she liked it!!
And thank you for this, I screen shot it and am going to gather some other questions along with these and come up with something. This is my super busy time of year so I’ll get that together as soon as I slow down a little bit. Thanks for the idea!
Thank you Karolyn. Looking forward to the Q&A when time permits.
🙇🏽♀️🙏🏾❤️
