    I absolutely love your art style. I live the colors you pick and how to lay them. The green tree is especially pretty because of the yellow color. I love your videos too bc of how you’re organized. You’re just so organized, you have a very minimalist style while still being colorful and I find it so pretty! Keep up with the good work ❤️

    Dear Angela, thank you so much for the art kit! One can see that a lot of thought has gone into it.
    I've been working with it for three days now. Before that I did not have any experience with Posca pens whatsoever. So everything is really new to me. And I must admit that I'm struggeling with the blending. That's the reason why I watched this video. And it did help a bit. So thank you for that too!
    It looks so easy in this video! But I think practice will help me get better. It all comes down to how much paint you squeeze out of pen before you start mixing, because otherwise the paint dries too quickly and the "mix" looks streaky and very ugly.
    The "paper"/coated heavy cardstock seems to be ideal for Posca pens. If anything works, then with this "paper". I don't think that blending is possible on other paper because the paint would dry too quickly.
    You had to decide on just 15 pens. I believe this choice wasn't easy. In this video I see you using a(n extra) fine brown pen. The kit only has a white and a black pen in (extra) fine. 12 are M3, one is M5. More (extra) fine ones might be useful for the small pictures. I think I'll buy some more.
    The idea for the kit was great, your art work in general and in the kit, is wonderful! I'm looking very much forward to every single page, every exercise and every piece!
    For those who are scared off by the price: The quality of everything in the kit is top notch! You really get your money's worth. In my kit there wasn't a calender (in addition to the guide book and the workbook and the pens, pencil, eraser) but a sketchbook with the same coated paper. Top quality, too! I have chosen the one with the "Matsumoto" cover and I love it so much! Beautiful colours! Velvety touch!
    So, thank you, Angela!

      Hi Anja! Thank you for your in-depth review and feedback! I'm glad to hear you liked everything that's included in the art kit :) I wanted to include more colors and different nib thicknesses in the art kit but unfortunately, Mossery only planned to include 15 markers in it. I believe a thicker nib/tip will help with blending, I've suggested to them to switch some colors into medium or broad nips, maybe they will update it in future art kits. They also decided to sell the calendar separately right before the launch ^^;
      I hope you will get to purchase some more markers in extra-fine and broad tips, that will really round off the drawing experience :)

      @@AngelaPanArt Hi Angela, if their calculation only allowed for 15 markers, then I suppose the selection makes sense, most of the markers being M3, the biggest possible size for the small pictures (as you say bigger tips are better for blending), the light blue in M5, and for highlights and outlines a white and a black one in M1.
      But yes, buying some more in M1 seems inevitable.
      Exchanging the calender for a sketchbook, too, seems reasonable, being almost half through the year. I think a calender would be great at the beginning of the year. I expect it'll take me some time to get through the workbook (maybe 1.5 months or 2). After that I hope to create some art of my own, and then it will be great to have the propper paper at hand. As I said earlier: I can't imagine that thinner and/or soakier paper would be any good for blending. The paint has to stay on the surface for a while to be blendable.
      Wishing you all the best on your creative and personal journey!
      Anja

      Update after 3 weeks: Yes, practice did help! I really love using the Posca Pens and blending has become second nature to me. And I'm addicted to my exercises in your workbook. I usually start with "just a few minutes" and am surprised when I realize that 2 hours have past! However, I must admit Japan is a very unfamiliar topic to me, I've never been there. I couldn't tell what food was supposed to be depicted in the workbook. So I interpreted it as something I knew. It is a great new experience though, but I'm looking very much forward to your second workbook with the mediterranean theme, much more familiar to me. Is there any chance to subscribe, so I'll be notified once it is out?
      I did in fact buy more Posca pens and wherever the colour was available, I substituted the M3 with the M1, red, brown and grey have become indispensible for my linework and shading.

    Hello Angela! Your style and colours are awesome, I love it! 😻
    I have posca pens but I don't find the right paper to keep the vibrant of colours😖
    Could you make a video that help to choose the right paper (similar to glossy cardstock, I mean smooth or satin paper)?
    Thank you so much!😄

    • @AngelaPanArt
      @AngelaPanArt  3 года назад +1

      Hello! :) I'll definitely include this topic in one of my future videos! I've recently found another good paper aside from my usual 14 pt coated cardstock paper, it's the 360gsm Invercote paper, the art kit will be using this type of paper. Mossery actually sent me quite a few different types of paper to try on for the art kit, some with texture, and I've only found success with the really smooth and thick ones. I'd say if you are looking to do a lot of blending, try avoid anything with texture, rough or cold press paper. :D

    Idk doesn’t blending mess up the nib’s original color? It’s happened to me and i can’t get the original color to come out anymore, so i wouldn’t want to blend, maybe im too rough when I blend idk? I love your trees by the way!
