    In this video I'm showing how I went about scanning in a Jason Voorhees hockey mask with the RevoPoint POP 2 3D scanner. I didn't get a 100% perfect scan of the front and back together, so I had to scan the back separately then merge them together using RevoStudio. After that, the model was cleaned up, smoothed, and 3D printed on an Ender 5 Plus, and 2 Saturn resin printers.

      Thanks! I saw a need for such a video as everyone was simply posting what they've scanned. It's not very helpful. I'm working on more as I type so I'll have more content added very soon!

    This was actually so helpful compared to so many videos showing Scaning the test part. Good to see how you're using the studio software on real world objects. Cheers

    You can also click the L key in edit mode in Blender to select an island.

      Yes, once you've found the island! :)

      @@galaxy5iveArmory Right. Well, I wrote the comment in response to the part where you went into wireframe mode or X-ray view to select the thing that was floating behind the mask, which opens up the possibility of selecting vertices/edges/faces from somewhere else and possibly deleting them without noticing.

    How do you retain the texture mapping uv’s after the sculpture smoothing?

    • @galaxy5iveArmory
      @galaxy5iveArmory  2 года назад

      Good question. The Revo software will keep it, but as for keeping it to import elsewhere, I'm really not sure yet. I will update if I figure it out.

    import project will import your old scan into a new scan

      Yup. Learned this after the fact! As I mentioned, I'm still new at it too! Thanks! But this was a good opportunity to show the merging options of 2 scans.

    Where is the colour & textures on this quite simple scan example ?

    • @galaxy5iveArmory
      @galaxy5iveArmory  2 года назад

      Yeah still working on that. It doesn't seem like a simple process according to my research but when I've discovered a fairly easy way to utilize the color material, I'll definitely do a follow up video.

    I would have deleted everything except the front face and then use the solidify tool to generate the thickness. I am concerned that this tool will be used to digitally recast other artists' work.
