I've been really loving your fiber stories Ahna :) thank you for reminding me that gratitude is such a wonderful antidote to despair and anxiety. Looking forward to your next video!
I’m so happy you are enjoying them and understand the message 😌
Loved the dress reveal of you coming down the stairs. Your editing as of late has been inspirational! 🎉
Thank you! I’ve been putting a little more into it ☺️ it’s like a whole other hobby in itself!
Nice episode! Good for election day jitters as well, thanks for sharing the outdoors from where you live and the beautiful dress and hat. Now I want a weekend hat! But it will have to wait, so many things to knit!
What a nice idea to spin and think of something you are grateful for! I am going to make this a daily habit.
It’s been a more powerful practice that I originally imagined it would be ❤️
You made me smile when you spoke about using DPNs . I’m 70 and that’s what I prefer. You’re right. They’re very simple and basic and working with them makes me happy
They’ve been so nice to work with! I’m glad you get it 😉
I am grateful for the online and in person fibre community. It is so interesting to see what others are doing and the journeys that fibre and materials take them on. Have you heard of Fox Mountain Spindles, out of Nova Scotia, Canada? I am not a spinner, but have only heard glowing reports from my spinner friends. I have so many projects on the go right now that i had to create a winter project list, that has projects and reading I want to do. Books on techniques or history and geology, as opposed to fiction. I also cross stitch and I have a hooked rug I need to complete. I am not a hooker … this is my first project. I always wanted to make a rug and am thrilled I did one, but there are only so many crafts I have space for and can afford. 😄. What is fun is I learned to rug hook at a retreat, held in a monastery, in Saskatchewan Canada, and it is a glorious memory. I like 9” circular needles for my sock knitting. Anyway loved this episode. The world is heavy and I am going towards a transition myself - retiring from full time work next year - and so focusing on the positive, and lovely, and sustainable, with a heart of gratitude, just makes sense. The election has occurred and well, I send you lovely wishes from Nova Scotia, Canada. 💕🧶
I love all of the different hobbies you have lined up for the winter season! I myself have been drawn towards more non fiction lately too. For me watching documentaries about space has been a nice little escape. I will check out the spindle maker you recommended. Thank you!! ❤️
Your dress turned out beautifully. The colour is gorgeous. Cheers Chris 👏👏😁🇦🇺
Thank you! ❤️
Love those nature sounds ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!! It was so nice collecting them 😌
Thank you for your podcast, thank you for your reminder to be grateful for good things, small or else in our life. Thinking of you today, from Canada
I appreciate you ❤️
I’m grateful for my knitting and spinning, hot water and my family and my cat and you❤
I love this ❤️ ☺️
I too prefer dpn’s! My favourites are dark wooden that are wonderfully smooth. I often use them for double knit button bands and small projects like gnomes. They are especially good for sleeves in the round!
Oooh! Care to share the brand of yours? I would be intrigued with some dark wooden ones 😍
Seriously obsessed with your dress. I think your traveler shawl colors will look good with it.
Thank you Kaci 🥰
Thank you for the kind words! 🥹🥹 So glad you are enjoying your socks on the DPNs! All of your projects are so inspiring!
I love your dress. Everything is beautiful! - Kimberly
Thanks for reminding me of the homely love of small things. Right now, I’m feeling grateful for this video, the lovely comments section and you. Sending love and light and hopes for a good election outcome from across the pond xx
Thank you!! 💙 🙏🏻
Thinking of you today and hoping you are okay. Remember, hope and hapiness are their own forms of resistance. We love you and we are with you. Your beautiful crafts are a huge source of joy and consolation and community to so many of us. Keep building those friendships and connecting with as wide a group as you can. Those grass roots networks of people, built on love, are going to so important. Be calm, sweet friend, and carry on x
@@verylikecherylthank you so much ❤ your kind, encouraging message means so much! I am so so happy to have such wonderful people like you in this community.
Saved this to watch post-election and it was exactly what I needed. ❤
I hope it gave you a brief moment of comfort ❤️
Oh Ahns! That dress is beautiful on You!
Thank you Mary 🥰
Outdoor knitting is so very nice, especially when you can sit in such a comfy chair! Thanks for sharing.
Bopin around the house is my favorite Sunday activity.
Your weekend hat looks so cozy! Really inspiring me to try my hand at spinning again.
I saw you got some fiber and it makes me excited you’re getting into it again 😃
@ 🥰 I’m excited!
What a lovely, relaxing podcast to sit and knit with. Thank you! Your dress looked adorable, you are so talented...with everything!
Your dress turned out so beautiful. I am new to your podcast I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for sharing loved your knits. 😊
Your dress turned out so well ! Lovely . I decided to try addi flexi needles for socks . It was awkward at first but I’m really enjoying. New stuff is fun
Ooh I love flexi flips! I use them when I make mittens 🥰
Ahna, I always love hanging out with you via YT! The handspun hat and that wedding dress!! Stunning! I love your traveler shawl as well and have been wanting to spin for it.
You’re the sweetest 🥰
Lovely, thank you for bringing things to be grateful for.❤️
❤️ ❤️
I would love a video on spindle spinning. More in what you do with the fiber after it’s spun on the spindles!
I think it would be a nice change of pace to make a spindle only video! Would you like it to be like a “my process” style?
@@brookwillow yes! I want to spindle spin and take a break from my wheel but feel very overwhelmed by all the newness and not many videos out there that I have found. I would love your take on it. 🥰.
@@Spinning_laineok sweet! I think I would enjoy making this. Stay tuned 😎
@@brookwillowyes please ❤
I'm grateful for my morning coffee, knitting a musselburgh beanie for my daughter, and watching this lovely video! All of your projects are beautiful. Your dress is stunning! And I love the cross stitch you've chosen. Thank you for the review of your new DPNs. I really like my 9" circulars for socks, but I did wish I had nice DPNs to start this musselburgh.❤🧶
So sweet ❤️ I love it! I’ve been intrigued by the Musselburgh pattern. I may have to cast it on 😉
I love the dress! You look beautiful in it and the fit and style is perfect!
Thank you so much!!
Wow ! I had to stop & rewind. Your dress is stunning. Great job🎉
Thank you so much!!
Grateful for you sharing your creativity with us! Both in your making and in your video production. Always inspiring and cozy. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much Madison 🥰
The dress is gorgeous!! and everything else too :)
Thank you so much 🥹
Another beautiful episode. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it 😃
my friend knits toe up socks and knits up the welts until she finishes the ball. I like to knit top down socks.
Ooh I love knitting toe up!
I also felt deeply driven to try out socks on dpn’s again after that socktober video 🥲 I knit up the petite knit ruffle socks faster than I’ve knit a pair of socks in quite awhile!!
Oooh these have been on my list! I agree it seems way faster 😃
You are such a talented maker all around. Your videos are so comforting and enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
Thank you so much 🥰 that is so kind!
Your color combos are always the best!! Also the dress is gorgeous 😍
Thank you so much!!
Great job on your Clara Dress and Hipster Hat! 👏🏾
Thank you! I’m happy with how they turned out 😃
You make that dress look fabulous! I would never have thought to make it just looking at the pattern photos, but damn girl, fire!
Haha thank you! I had a vision 🙌
@brookwillow 🤩❤️👏
First video of the day with my morning coffee! Love how early you post!❤
I personally watch videos before work and figured others would like an early one as well ☺️
Your dress looks beautiful! Love the color.
Thank you! It took a loooong time to sew but was totally worth it 😊
Stunning. Everything. I love the dress pattern and you nailed it! Love the thoughtfulness that goes into your content Ahna!💓
Thank you so much ❤️ 🥰
Dress looks fabulous on you ❤️
Thank you ❤️ I’m happy with how it turned out!
You can easily use the cross stitch motifs for smaller projects...like ornaments.
I really like your dress, a great pattern.
Thank you! 😊
Hello, how amazing idea just to go and knit in nature:) i feel it:)
It sure is a wonderful thing 😊
Were you on the St. Croix River? It looks so familiar! I kayak there all the time.
I sure was! 😃 what a beautiful place to kayak 🥰
Your dress and hat turned out beautifully!❤
Thank you! ☺️ I’m pretty excited to wear both (maybe not at the same time)
Love everything! Where did you get that cool rocking chair?
It’s from a brand called Nemo ☺️ it’s an excellent chair!
Hi Brook - What a great opportunity, to knit by the water. Love the geese! I live in Oregon and our rainy season has begun so I can knit by the water but it is coming down from the sky :-) I was wondering if you could share the brand of beach chair you have. I love that is swings. Thanks.
Absolutely! The brand is Nemo 😊 it’s such a nice chair! Happy knitting ❤️
Great job on your first cross stitch project and your using linen! The spindle with the bead is gorgeous. I may make that my first purchase for learning to spin. If you think that would be a good option for a beginner.
Thank you so much! I think it would be a good gateway into spinning in terms of it being less of a financial commitment as compared to a wheel. I’ve heard that a Turkish spindle is a good starter as well! I personally have never spun Turkish but it’s a little more similar to a drop spindle which is what I started on ❤️ I’m planning on putting a video together about my process with supported spindle spinning so that may be helpful in your decision!
@ thank you
I also have the same dpn enjoy If you buy a leather case find one with a long flap to hold in the dpns leather stretches over time and the dpns slip out.of their holding place.
This is a great tip, thank you!
What is the brand of the chair you are sitting in at the beginning of your video? Fellow camper here and that looks amazing. Love your video content. ♥️
The brand is Nemo! I’ve had it for over 4 years now and it holds up well 😊 I love it!
Thank you for a beautiful video. I would love to know the brand of the outdoor swing chair that you use. It looks so portable and comfortable for knitting. Thank you!
Oh yes! The brand is Nemo. I’ve had this chair for over 4 years now and still love it so much ❤️
Thank you!❤
Love the spindle with the glass bead, as well as ALL of the content in this video, from beginning to end!! Who is the maker of the spindle and where did you purchase it? I would love to hear more about your experience with drop spindles.
It is from a maker called Mingo Asho 😊 and I just posted a new video today all about supported spindle spinning 🥰
I recently bought a support spindle from Anoka Fiber Works and I am having a hard time spinning on it. I have decide on my next Spinning wheel Kromaski Minstrel, right now I am working on clearing out a space which will be my craft/office/library. Ahna I understand I've struggled a lot and the reason why I am working this room is because my basement flooded from my kitchen sink and so I'm like it's a sign and I am working slowly on it.
It took me a little bit to get the hang of the support spindle too! I think for my next video I’m going to show my process of spinning on it. I hope that will help!
@@brookwillow :) I might bring it up to Anoka Fiber Works and get some help as well.
Lovely episode; what shawl are you wearing while knitting on the beach?✨
It’s called the Mockingbird Shawl! I tested it for a designer that never ended up releasing the pattern
@@brookwillow Thank you

Please tell me what is your chair called
Haha yes of course! The brand is Nemo 😊
