Hi, great video. Will like to use on my Samsung Watch 3 a watch face that had analog features and the digital clock a different time zone a la Breitling wstches. Is this possibke to accomplish? Thanks for your comments.
Thank you very much. This really helps. My favorite watch face disappeared in a reset of my phone, using your video help now I can design exactly what I want.
Good info, but your video and audio make it a rough view. Very good information. Perhaps any future videos should cover some other topics such as how you make the custom images, what size they should be before scaling them down etc. Thanks for sharing this. Thumbs up.
Very good tutorial. The pace was about right making it easy to follow. I have only had the Galaxy watch a few days coming from an Apple Watch so this was very welcome. I am not sure yet how to get your creation into the watch but I am sure I will figure it out. Might be an idea to leave a downloadable copy of your creation to follow along with.
Hi Jamie, I have just (yesterday) started to play with the Watch Designer and found your video really really useful. Look forward to seeing more from you
Whats the watch that shows near the beginning of your video? Is it possible to get the design file? I'm looking for something like that with with more info in the blank parts of the screen. Most faces in the galaxy shop with lots of info are full of health stuff which I don't want.
@@niccster1061 Thank you for explaining about that. Thankfully, I bought a Samsung Active 1 on sale. I highly recommend it if anyone needs a stopwatch or apps in general. Furthermore, I want to warn everyone that #Samsung and mostly every watch manufacturer will not repair or replace your watch if water happens to get inside of it even if you use the device correctly according to the manual. It's better to be safe than sorry by not submerging this watch in water at all! Finally, @Samsung and other manufacturers need to take environmental responsibility by offering Recycling services for all of their devices in all countries of the world.
@@kendrewreviews im not sure about the gear, but the galaxy watch is completely water proof. Ive even washed it in tubs of water(while turnining the bezel) to clean it out.
@@niccster1061 there's a lot of complaints online about this regarding watches. It's just too risky. If any water gets inside you're screwed. And if you take apart the watch and look inside of it, it's a very skinny rubber gasket that protects the fate of your watch. If you read the fine print the warranty, nothing is guaranteed if water gets inside even if you use the watch properly. So as your gasket dries out over time, and it will dry out, water will eventually get inside and then the watch will be a paperweight. From an environmental standpoint, this is horrible because there's a lot of toxic materials used to make smart watches and it's too expensive to properly unassembled The Watch for it to be recycled. So most likely it'll end up in a landfill.
@@kendrewreviews Most of the water damage complaints come from people who don't know how to properly use the modes for swimming. If you do not eject the water from the speaker there can be problems. If you DO then it is safe to use. There's "a lot" of complaints, but the ratio of people who have gotten water damage while swimming to the people who haven't. Is minuscule. The galaxy watch has an ip68 rating for water resistance and can withstand 5 atmospheres of water pressure(which is about 50 feet deep). The rubber gasket isn't the only reason the watch is ip68 5ATM either. And from an environmental standpoint, if your watch breaks and Samsung won't repair or recycle it... Just fix it yourself. Its repairability score on iFixit is 7.
Excellent tutorial! I don't recall, but did you give the second hand an app link? Perhaps a custom link would be nice. What are the tools in the top tool bar? I know about the layers but am uncertain about the other tools. It may help to have some deeper concept about manipulating the layers and shifting their order too. This helped me alot!
Do you have any info on where to find App ID for adding a "calculator" shortcut button? For instance shortcuts in the drop down menu seem to be the ones that came native to the S3 Tison but other apps like "Calcuator" that are installed from the Wear app do not appear available. I did find a list with some custom App ID's and was able to add the "Timer" app but Calculator and some other rather standard apps seem to be missing. Any idea where I can find a complete list?
@@stevegreaves7151 I contacted Samung Developer helpdesk by email for the ones I couldn't find online but only for the Samsung Apps. My gmail doesnt go back that far on my phone to see but I think the app id for the timer was : com.samsung.timer-wc or something like that. Some app ids dont have a c and sometimes the wc is before the app name.
@@stevegreaves7151 Just looked again...Actually the timer I found on a list that was posted online on a forum here: forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/gear-s2/app-id-timer-stopwatch-app-gear-s2-t3290021 The timer is on the list too -wc1
I am trying to make my own watch face, with the latest version of GWS. I have the same problem, I want to add some custom App IDs. (eg. daily calendar, exercise of samsung health etc) Do you have any idea now, how can I do it. Thanks
Very nice overview! I've just started a project to learn how to use the designer and I'm essentially trying to recreate a face a like but to change it slightly to suit my needs (build in a button for starting an exercise). Around about 21.20 you set a button to launch S Health... Rather than going to the main app I'm trying to go straight to starting an exercise (like an existing face I have)... any idea how you would go about doing that? There is an option for custom button but it seems to rely on you know exactly where to point the button but I don't know of a list of codes to get me where I want to be. Any thoughts are appreciated :)
Thanks for the video. I've virtually copied what you done but I get stuck when your video finishes. For the life of me I can't figure out the best way (or a working way) to get the watch face onto the watch.
@@jamiechallenger7084 thanks. I seem to have my watch connected to Galaxy designer . The prog says ", connected watch SM-G950F” but when trying to do the Distribute Certificate it says there's no device connected. I've tried to copy Device ID to clipboard (via right mouse button) but can't paste that into the certificate either. I'm trying to do it via WiFi. 😑

hello where do u download digital clock and other resources?
I'm looking for the same answer... Where...? (or did u find the same or other to use?)
Do you know how to create good looking animations for Watch in Galaxy Watch Designer ?
I found the video to be helpful. Thanks!
Jamie, can you please teach us how to make a stop watch? I'm a swimmer and I cannot believe that my gear has swim apps but NO pace clock.
This is a watch face. not an app. To do a stopwatch. You would need to program an app

conseguiu?
Very informative and well done. Thanks for putting that together.
Great tutorial! Helped me out big time
so to design and upload faces to sell, one signs up as a developer?
Does it work for the Galaxy Watch?
Yes it is the same procedure
@@jamiechallenger7084 OK thanks

Where do you download 3rd party backgrounds or text etc?
how do I animate when activating the clock?
