Josh Brolin’s Thanos voice is just so natural, it sounds like a real guys voice, but toned a bit, it’s perfect
It's balanced...
Perfectly balanced... as all things should be
Exactly. It was a tad forced the first time we heard it but the relaxed nature of his voice in Infinity & Endgame is what makes it so perfect.
@ufo rocker yes you are right
Do you mean.....
Perfectly Balaced??
Josh Brolin: Deep, menacing, chilling, real
The rest: 100% cliche "bad guy" voice
Duh
Jake Hart is not bad though
Thapelo Mokoto but it’s a bit boring. It’s so expected.
Jake Hart's performance was't as bad as all the rest
Isaac C. Singleton was ok
Josh Brolin makes Thanos sound wise.
He is tho

I love Brolin cause they dont make him sound like a tyrannical overlord, just a guy on a mission
Emo Otaku FACTS

Best way to explain the difference in tone.

Emo Otaku I hear you. But imo thanos is a genius god like overlord lol. I loved Brolin's take on thanos. I personally hope they throw in a lil bit of what I said in avengers 4. Just my opinion tho.
Voices that actually suit Thanos:
2:14 - Isaac Singleton Jr.
3:24 - Jake Hart
4:06 - Josh Brolin
Isaac's take on thanos voice sounded a bit dry though. Like he was actually reading a script.
nope
@@user-zb3yl1wu8u Isaac just sounds like Kratos and not in a Good Way
Isaac is pretty good in my opinion
Isaaac was a bit dry, but the voice itself is fitting
Idk how they got actors with squiky voices before, I think deep voice fit him better considering his body size
Jim Cummings was the weirdest fit
Remember that Josh Brolin's voice was significantly edited though to make it sound more powerful. He doesn't sound like that ordering a number 4 from chickfila.
DumbDuck44 It wasn’t “significantly” edited. It was slightly edited. You can see behind the scenes footage, and him doing that voice in interviews. Obviously he has to force it to be that menacing, and powerful. But its not like it was drastically changed to sound like that.
Jim Cummings was laughable LOL
Well considering one is an actual box office movie do you think they wouldve just included a random voice actor, plus I’m sure Josh Brollin spent time studying Thanos and how he acts in the comics to truly bring out the character in Avengers
Josh Brolin is to Thanos what Heath Ledger was to the Joker. Perfectly cast, as all characters should be.

All the other ones sound like every bad guy in scooby doo, the typical bad guy voice and it makes it so refreshing to hear something like Brolinsvoice which sounds so natural
Thanos just sounds like a guy on a mission. The others sound like some sort of king who keeps humble bragging all the time.
With Brolin, Thanos sounds like what he is... A big bad guy, whose plan is right in his point of view and someone who knows how powerful he is. Someone who doesn't just kill everyone just because he knows he could.

Doot Doot true!!!
Jim Cummings made thanos sound like Tigger playing pretend

Isaac isn't bad... it's just the script he's giving is awful.
yeah Isaac has the voice but the delivery was weak, remember Brolin had alot of studio time, alot of money went into that, but Josh wins easy, sounds natural.
Josh Brolin makes aggressive moments aggressive and calm moments sound calm. The rest make him sound like a constantly aggressive person or a stereotypical villain instead of a person with heart and goals. This is why I love Josh, he makes Thanos alive.
Michael Ironside did the same with his portrayal of Darkseid
It's more thanks to the directors and writers, Thanos sounded like your generic over the top villain in GotG, you can clearly notice how they changed his personality to align with his motivations in Infinity War/Endgame. Brolin is a pretty great actor overall, but so are many on here, it's just that Thanos was written differently for IW and Endgame.
Yea it's just direction. Brolin sounded lesser in gotg. The direction is really what nails it

@Jonathan Lumbreras I don't really need to explain, my opinion is he was portrayed well, and Brolin made it convincing.

Even with how shitty current Marvel animation is, they would be improved a lot if they at least had Jack take over for Thanos and improve his characterization closer to the comics thanks to the movie making him massively popular.

Fun fact: Thano’s name was based on the god Thanatos
That, and "Thanos" is short for "“Athanasios", a Greek word that means "immortal".
So...maybe in a pitch, Thanos got his name because he was to be the good will of his father Alars in the long-term, but the elder child perverted it due to his obsession with nihilism.
But this does put a smile on my face...
For some reason the Guardians of the Galaxy Thanos looks and sounds more villain like.
Thanos in IW isn't meant to look like a villain but rather a man with solid goals that he believes can save the universe
He was not intended to be the villain in the story.
The point about Thanos is that he is not a vilain, as there is no such thing as good and evil. Only act and consequences. And he believe he is right to act when everyone prefers inaction for the sake a good that does not exist. Thanos is just as much a hero, as he is a vilain. Willing to sacrifice everything he loves and himself, to save the universe, from a culculated obvious end. He is the reflection of a true problem in real life. soon to be 8 billion Human being, not enough ressources to go around, on top of the very destruction of our planet. In fact, we would very much need a Thanos.
@@Ghurdill That's just a villain with good writing. Wilson Fisk thought he was a hero in the Daredevil series. He was developed very well and the audience good understand what he was doing (saving New York from lower criminals and eventually save the woman he loved), but he was still a murdering psychopath mob boss.
Also "we need genocide to save the world" is a very middle school-tier solution to a surface level problem. You and your family would probably be rounded up in the firing squads. It's one thing to advocate death out of hatred or [when killing an individual] justice, but to try to sound like some savior is kinda dumb.
@@RonnieJamesDeodorant The thing is. Uniterested, random large scale painless death is no genocide. At all. Turkey killing Armenians was a genocide. It was aimed at Armenians, ment to kill them, ment to make them disapear. Here Thanos has no hatred for any of the people that will disapear because of his actions. For all he cares, he could be one of those persons. As long as his actions can allow people to have a better life.
Your use of the word genocide is out of context, and very ..." middle school-tier" understanding of how deep this problem goes. Here it is not about genocide. Society has efficiently suppressed all matter of natural selection. And even here in this fiction character, he does not even wish to re-establish laws of nature. He has no interest on seeing only the strong survive. Weaklings, handicaped, old, etc, he simply does not care who stays or who disapear. It is just about putting the universe back toward balance.
Look at earth today. Soon to be 8 billions souls all scratching to get an ever thinner piece of the cake. And yet we do nothing to force full continent to limit their birth rate. In the mean time we are putting in danger of extinction any other life form on the planet, that will untimately result in our own disapearance. By letting human life unchecked, your are advocating for a the most massive self genocide possible, including all the horror that comes along : wars, massacres and so on.

Gary Krawford and Jake Hart sound unique as Thanos. Krawford’s take sounds like his natural voice, but it has presence. Hart’s take feels subdued compared to others, but it still has weight. I’m surprised by Jake Hart’s Thanos. It might be my favorite voice of them all.
Isaac Singleton Jr. feels lacking to me. It brings to mind Michael Leon Wooley’s Darkseid, which felt like a much stronger performance than Singleton’s Thanos.
Andrew Jackson is just generic fighting game voice lines.
Going from Steve Blum to Jim Cummings as Thanos in Super Hero Squad is just jarring. Blum brings in a snarling, yet hammy voice, while Cummings is all ham.
And that leaves Brolin. GotG 1 sounds like they added an effect to his voice, while Infinity War sounds like his actual voice. It has weight and presence.
Completely agree
For the Jim Cummings one, the hamminess kind of fits, considering that Avengers Assemble is the Marvel version of Teen Titans Go (I don't care how many people I piss off with that remark).
Canais Young it's ok you are right it is TEEN TITANS GO.......done right and who can forget that awesome theme song (starts singing Superhero Squad Theme Song)
I think brolin's voice in gotg sounds that way because the quality of the sound is better than IW in this video. And maybe also because it was supposed to be quiet in space, while in titan and earth it has wind and other sounds
I mean is it wrong of me to say Jim Cummings always sounds like himself, or Darkwing Duck, or Tigger, or Scar. I mean he and Steve Blum have a......the same voice ( or almost) for every role. And obviously its working for them....but its grating on me a bit. Like omg every time i watch Pocahantas i just hear Jim Cummings as both Chief Powhatan and the old indian shaman....like.........THE SAME VOICE! And they sing the same song together, so whack
When I think of one of the most powerful villains in marvel, especially Thanos, I don't usually imagine those first squeaky voices
Do I even need to say who is the best...
Oh I’ll clear it up anyway...
