Riyadh’s Insane City Of The Future In 2040
Hello and Welcome Back To my Channel Future Planet, Where we discuss all things Future !
Riyadh is one of the world’s fastest-growing cities, with the construction of high-rise buildings getting underway in earnest. The Saudi Arabian capital has a reputation as a city of towers, soaring spires, and glass-and-steel canyons. Between 2012 and 2022, the number of buildings in the city almost doubled as planned and the city expanded further to the west.

The cool part about Riyadh is that most of its skyscrapers were designed by Saudis.

@@akm4202 it's unique to see the talent of Saudis in architecture because there are a lot of people from the west who think that Saudis are stupid and most of their cities were designed by Westerners which is something incorrect we don't deny the western contribution in some of our country but denying the Saudi contributions is something hilarious

@@littlekingdom7636 no, GCC cities are International that's why u see many hands from the world building some of their cities that doesn't underestimate the citizens of the GCC countries because they are also very talented in architecture but it only depends on what companies prefer whether it was a GCC Citizen architect OR westerner architect or easterner architect, like the Saudi architect Fahad alsuliman who was ranked as one of the top 10 architects in the world so that's not weird on us, because if we didn't talk about it then u r going to say “iT wAs bUilt bY foreIGnErs🥴” and if we talked about it then u will be like “ iS tHat weiRd” or “wHerE iS tHe UniQue pArt🥴” so we are trying to avoid this type of argument but it seems like it will never f%#king end 🤷‍♂️

When King Abdullah came to power a hurricane of fresh air swept the Kingdom and things started to improve on a daily basis. I was lucky enough to live there in those glorious days. Hello, someone from Riyadh here, Unfortunately Riyadh isn’t walkable, They are working on the walkability thing, But they are extremely slow, Riyadh metro for example, it should have been operating by 2018, But it almost 2023 now and it hadn’t started operating yet, Most neighbourhood are car centric and have no sidewalks, There are plans to make them more pedestrian friendly but they are so slow, I don’t think will live to see it :(

I hope riyadh and saudi progresses..however i want to be nowhere near it in the future…
They talk like hell but have many trade barriers and xenophobias….a migrant living and earning money in their country to them feels like they are getting robbed blind. But its not so much of a robbery when they are charging them 2500 usd per year per visa an year….and bank accounts are spied on by the government.
