Girl,I swear I thought the same thing!😂😂😂 the sounds are NOT the same. So TXT have an afrobeat song called Tinnitus! (If I'm not mistaken).
I'm new and subscribed. Its so good to have one of our own on the ktuber platform! You made great points. Genres should be shared. I really love the idea of African genres being used in Kpop❤

Compared to Tyla's water song, Le Sserafim's Smart really sound extremely addicting; the main chorus keeps ringing in my mind, and even though both are in the same genre, they sound very different.

as a producer, it is geniunely *next near to impossible* to create something almost 100% entirely original. especially producing a genre such as Afrobeats where there are very defined and distinct characteristics to literally every song of that genre (i.e: kick - delayed clap - kick - clap pattern, offbeat octave jumped bass line, so on.) Just because there are a few popular artists that specialise in a particualr genre does not mean that's 'their sound'. unless Le Sserafim's producers literally ripped off one of Tyla's songs 1 to 1, with matching instrumentation and textures and all, then fair, however I highly doubt it.
thank you for attending my Ted Talk, have a great day.

No…The genre has been around long before Tyla made it popular. This is like saying Beyoncé plagiarized country artists.

While I agree I do think cultural appropriation is more of the issue i.e during antifragile lesserafim also get backlash bcs they are “similiar” to Rosalia but the backlash was not as big as this one bcs there’s actual native Latam producer in their song but unfortunately there is no black producer or choreogapher in smarter. Viviz maniac’s choreo can also be alluded to water choreo but not as much backlash bcs the choreographer is black but correct me if I’m wrong this is what I understand so far

What i don't like is the fact that if tyla bopped off they wouldn't have incorporated it in their songs. They don't appreciate it they just want to make a hit because they saw what she did with water. And it was clear with the choreography they were trying to recreate that. I don't think i can be proud if its just for clout

I don't think they copied tyla, and why would they do it for clout? It takes quite a few months to record and release an album, smart was probably recorded before water even went viral, smart was inspired by amapiano which water is
Regarding the choreo tylas water choreo was based off of a popular south african dance style called bacardi, that is the reason it looks similar to water.
Just like the song, choreo also takes a long time to put together as well so there is absolutely NO way that le sserafim copied tyla
      I hope this helps

@@sserenmin_onyt i dont think you understand what i am saying. I never said they copied i said i don't think they would have made smart if tylas water didn't go. And its been about 5 months since water when viral. I know when it did because matrics were doing nothing but walking around school and that song was being played alot. Its enough time for hybe to see and do. There's nothing wrong with admitting that they saw the success and decided to the same. Its not a first for hybe.
