Great follow up interview. I'm from Nor Cal. People get conditioned to the fast pace / everything at there their fingertips type of lifestyle in California. LIke it or not, you have to condition yourself to your new environment in whatever state or country you move too. I'm glad you did this interview because its a cautionary tale to rent for one year in the location you think you want to live in. Not everything that glitters is gold.
Yes to Emmett! I am retired. No need to "drive the hill" daily. Research on the "Highland" subdivision Community! Nice! When i win the lottery, i am packing!😉😊👍 Great informative video. Wishing the couple the best!
Great video of an honest experience from a relocating family. More of these interview videos might help someone sit back and think a bit more on moving or just considering relocation. 👍
Emmett’s got the Payette River and a reservoir upstream, so it’s set up to handle water pretty well. There might be some minor runoff from time to time, but as far as I know, the town hasn’t had any major flooding issues.
Hi, I have a small family, Wife, daughter and potentially a father in-law that are looking at moving to Idaho from Palm Springs CA. We are specifically looking at Fruit land Idaho due to it bordering Oregon. I am originally from Beaverton Oregon and my wife and her family is originally from Palm Springs. We are looking to visit Boise and fruit land this winter so we can see what's it like. If you have any insight on fruit land your feedback would be great! God Bless you!
They are moving over the hill closer to eagle and Meridian so they don’t have to make the commute. He did mention it towards the end of the video. Where are you watching from?
This might be stating the obvious, but Emmett is extremely conservative politically, even by the standards of Idaho. It's also very homogeneous. If the couple you were interviewing was black, brown and/or gay, they might not be rhapsodizing about the friendliness of their neighbors. But most people considering a move there are probably looking for like-minded folks. Also, they are improving access to Emmett with some new-road construction, so it'll be easier to get to and from the Treasure Valley.
I live in Boise/Treasure Valley and I would love to have better public transportation and think a rail line between Nampa/Caldwell to Mountain Home would be great. I actually had a conversation with someone who worked in city planning and development. He offered a realistic perspective stating that collectively the Treasurer Valley was currently around 1 million people. He said it would need to be closer to 2.5 million before the cost of a rail system would be a viable option. Since most people prefer Idaho because it isn’t over populated, I don’t know that we would see a public rail system around here anytime soon.
Most outrageously racist place I have ever lived. Mid 70s still had a what the hell sundown law. Bible in one hand Lord knows what they have in the other.
Idaho tends to lean conservative, especially in places like Emmett. But when you ask about the scene for liberals, can you specify a bit? Like, are you thinking about policies, social vibes, or local groups? Helps me give a clearer answer. Thanks

So true. It’s not easy moving and takes time to get use to a new area and rhythms.
Excellent comment!

Emmett is great for the right people.
I’m a huge fan of the highlands, I love the mid century homes.
Their cons are definitely pros for me. It sounds like an ideal location. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful.
What has you watching?

Yep… that’s the goal. Better to learn this from a RUclips video then having to learn it yourself by going through the process. Relocating isn’t easy.
This is so helpful I am loving your videos, I'll be in touch soon plan to visit next month
We just purchased in Emmet in the Picket Coral Development. I hope I love it there. We are semi retired. So we’ll see how it goes.
Fantastic interview! Appreciate the minimal editing & their honest responses.
Looks good for retirees
California's are hard to please anyway
Great interview Craig
Thanks George
Excellent video.
With the river running through the town and a big lake near by- has Emmett ever been flooded out or is that a problem?

It's never flooded as long as I lived here

My contact info is also in the description of the video.
Great video, but are they moving back to California? Either it wasn’t mentioned or I missed it. thanks for doing these videos.

Where are you watching from?
Ungrateful Californians need to go back home
Good video!

We are looking to move to Emmett in late May early June and want to rent first! Is this something you can help with 🥰
Yes, we help a lot of couples as they move who rent first then buy. We have some resources we can share with you. Give me a call 208-264-3211

Why did the kids go to school in Garden City?
there is a private school in Garden City they wanted their kids to be apart
I'm moving to Idaho, or maybe Texas, as soon as I serve out my probation in CA. Want a place with lower crime.
Less crime on probation. Hahahaha
Would a light rail system have a positive impact in the Treasure Valley area?
Absolutely not, that brings everything with it

Stay in California
If you don't bring your destruction to the residents of Idaho and they promise not do anything to try to fix California would that be a fair deal?
Stay in California. No one wants your crap views.
Stay out.
As long as you don’t bring your voting habits.
