- Here we are working to airbrush dye, resist, and antique the pieces of the Lux Handbag. Many people struggle with dyes and finishes, and hopefully, this in-depth video will help folks with their finishing techniques.
Products used in this video:
FineLine Masking Tape: makersleathers...
Cordless Airbrush: makersleathers...
Fiebing Dyes: makersleathers...
Antique Paste: makersleathers...
I really appreciate your detailed videos demonstrating so many techniques. It was great watching this bag come together. Thank you as it's obvious it takes a great deal of time.
Again...another fantastic, easy to hear, easy to follow, easy to watch informative video ~ love it!!! Thank you!!
And that's why we appreciate you Aaron , the help and videos you provide is priceless to some . Great work as always mate cheers Paul
If you are using scraps of old clothing try and give them a few washes without fabric conditioner, it's a good tip for towels too, the fabric conditioner tends to cut the ability to absorb for some reason, we stopped using fabric conditioner on the towels in the house and it made quite the difference. All the best from Scotland
Great video...
I love when the antique goes on! Like boom...
I really like to watch the tooling of that piece
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been wanting to mask my tooling like this but I didn’t know what to use. This is awesome.
Beautiful! You are an amazing artist. Thank you for showing how it’s done.
Great video I like watching learning a lot . I used the laptops patern and made a bag halfway Ann was told it was to small. I enlarged it for my granddaughter 17 inch.she was delighted Christmas.my daughter took the first one .thanks

Nice to know about the Angelus antique. Will be anxious to try it. Has anyone tried their neutral antique you can mix with paint to expand color choices?
It's feibings brand antique paste. I've played with the neutral and paint a bit. It works but it needs to be practiced some before smearing it on an important project.
We’re have you been?!?!?! Hope the holidays were good for you !! Glad to see you
The tooling and finish looks great. Have enjoyed and learning from you videos over the past few years. Will you be posting the build video soon?
Yes. First part of this coming week it should be done!
@@makersleathersupply1220 Thank you !
Awesome finally another video. RUclips screwed me on your last 3 videos and i never saw them.
I'd write them a strongly worded message about that! Glad this one showed up for you.

I love that tape too!! Is there a mystery box this month?
Prolly
ordered! Where can I get the plastic cups? I didn't see those on your website but I probably missed them if they're there.
What plastic cups are you asking about?
That’s a great video. Always learning from you.
You had a makers stamp made by a person down your way.
What was the business name so I can reach out.
Thanks

Aaron,
You changed the way you apply the resist before in your videos. You used a dauber that you burnt the fuzziness off of.
I do use a dauber a good bit and I burn the fuzzies off them... but I don't like to apply resist with them because it puts it on too thick.
Could the RTC be applied with an airbrush to avoid dye transfer?
It can. I for some reason just never used the airbrush for sealants and such. Just dye.
@@makersleathersupply1220 I have used resolene in the airbrush but none of the resist products.
Unfortunately due to life circumstances I dropped the ball on this mystery box :( . Will we be able to purchase the tooling pattern to go along with the template?
Yes you will
This is why you are awesome!
Just wondering why you just didn’t spray the resist. Like the tooling can’t wait for the assembly.
I dont like cleaning it out of the airbrush :)
@@makersleathersupply1220 I got the same brush and just spray alcohol through it a couple of times and call it good. But that’s with resolene and tan coat , never used the actual resist.
Where do you get the sheeps wool. I have not been able to find any.
@angrylittledwarf we sell shearling at the store. We only sell hides of it though. If you can find a saddle shop, they usually have scraps they'll let go of.
