    Hi Terry, I have just got a Brother MFC-j6530dw Printer and found that if you replace all inks with compatible inks, the last one installed wont register. it keeps saying reinstall slowly, with what ever colour was the last installed. If you have at least one original ink cartridge installed, it lets you use three compatibles at the same time. This is obviously a firm ware issue with the Printer that Brother have installed. I cant find any way round this, and the compatible cartridges "chip" does not seem removable. Even the new Brother cartriges chips do not seem removable. Am I missing some thing?

      You will notice the cartridges in this video are ALL Compatibles and the printer works. You are using poor quality cartridges. Watch this video and pay attention to the information about the ink this video is specifically about your printer model ruclips.net/video/kvmPKzuoOMU/видео.html

    What is the work around? My printer won't print because of the question marks. Am I stuck bending over for "authorized" ink only?

    Hi Terry. Well you definitely showed me how to get my printer to reflect FULL ink cartridges, but because the ? is there, it will still not allow me to print anything. So I'm not sure what this has solved. I'd be happy to tip if you can help me with this workaround.

    • @TerryJonesPrinterRepairs
      @TerryJonesPrinterRepairs  7 месяцев назад

      You have made an assumption that because it is displaying ??? That this is the reason it won't print and is because of the cartridges. How many times have you hit the print icon over and over in frustration trying to get it to print only to dig your hole deeper and deeper. Go clear your print queue, turn your wifi router off, turn your printer off turn your computer off. Turn the router on, turn the printer on, leave your computer off and print something from your phone or iPad.

    do you have a video for brother 3540dw how to reset the ink volume.coz when the ink empty the catridge will not recognize

    Terry, I have the same 6945 DW printer. I have successfully refilled my original ink cartridges, and have had good success with that. Now suddenly (6 months later) the printer believes the cyan color is empty and will not allow me to reset or override as you described. As a result, the printer will not operate. The display states that it cannot detect ink volume on cyan and will not allow me to leave the screen and use the printer. I've unplugged. It turned it off and on several times, pulled the cartridge out several times, which is at least half full of ink. I'm now stuck and don't want to go buy new cartridges. Is there an another workaround regarding exiting this screen so I can use my printer?

    Hi Terry. I've been looking at this exact model, the Brother MFC-J6945DW A3 all-in-one colour inkjet printer. Do you know when this model was first released? Would you advise me to buy this, or to perhaps wait and see if a newer similar A3 all-in-one inkjet printer from Brother is due to be released, or would you recommend I purchase another brand? I really like all of the features/specs of this particular printer and would not want less from a printer. 😊

      The mfc-j6930dw printer is more than adequate for most people. The j6945dw is the same machine internally it just has larger cartridges. Which means it's harder to work with the cartridges if you use non genuine Ink. The j6930dw gives you the ink levels without have to do what is in this video.

    If printer companies would charge a reasonable amount for ink cartridges, people wouldn't be buying off brand inks.

    Hi, I have a Brother MFC-j3940dw, and in the past I successfully refill old cartridges and reset ink level, but after the latest firmware update I can't bypass the "low level ink" and "replace magenta cartridge" message. Do you know how I can downgrade the firmware or how to bypass these messages ? Thank you

    • @TerryJonesPrinterRepairs

      You can bypass the messages by buying a new cartridges
