So glad you did a reaction video to this. I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma where Wayman Tisadale was from. Wayman "BigTiz" Tisdale was a McDonalds All-American High School Basketball Player, multi-year All-American NCAA basketball player at the University of Oklahoma, lottery pick in the NBA draft and had a successful pro career as well as music career. More than all that, he was a gentle giant that made time for all people. Great human being. Rest easy Big Tiz. Thank you again Modern Renaissance Man. 👍🏾🙂
had tickets to see wayman's jazz show in Harrisburg PA. He passed away right before (1 week) the show. i lovll genre's of music. just lucky enough to find the song/video. thanks toby keith!!!
He supported his friend through fighting cancer and now he is fighting cancer himself. :( Wayman talked Toby into doing some Barry White music. Its awesome! I've been taking my best friend to cancer treatments for over a year now because her husband works out of town. I'm so afraid of losing her!!
That was just so sad and sweet, sweet, today I just lost someone I loved a lot who was suffering tremendously, and I feel sad and relief. I love the way TOBY KEITH 'S voice sings and continually tells me story. I am a huge TK fan.

This song always reminds me of a childhood friend. He was 18, saved his Lil brother and cousin from drowning but the undertow got him. This song came out very shortly afterwards or it was already out but I hadn't listened.

The reason why that song gets me cry every time, is because he's honest in saying I'm not crying for you I'm crying for me I know because I read a lot of news things yourself. They were really good friends, and it's sad when you start losing your siblings or your friends you start to feel really different. I know Toby Keith is a good size guy he's tall solidly built but the picture of him and his print oh my God Toby Keith looks like a little dude. R.I.P. Toby this song hits me hard i was diagnosed with throat cancer due to a lifetime of severe acid reflux. I chose not to seek treatment the Good lord has spoken death is a beautiful thing it is the next step of the journey we must all someday take alone. My nephew has promised me he will sing this at my memorial service. Awesome reaction. God bless you and your family.

I sat by Wayman & his wife at our sons’ basketball game at Edison Preparatory School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a gentle giant, & he & his wife were good & kind people. Oklahoma misses you Wayman.

his love songs as beautiful as these are, he can be the most patriotic American you will ever meet. Don’t mess with America, he doesn’t condone war, just don’t try that in our America again. 11 years he went into Afghanistan to preform for our troops stationed in that horrible war

Love this tribute! I remember when it came out it was called waymans song. It is a true testimony of the love for the human spirit.
It goes to show that we are all just people, and that the only color that matters is the red in our veins. That's how I feel anyway.

Waymon was one of the best basketball players who ever played BB at Oklahoma University. Really a nice guy and one of the sweetest smiles on anyone's face. He and Tony were great friends and both have passed due to cancer. Toby called Waymon SUPER STAR , because he had the talent but never the ego of a super star. Just a great guy who loved the Lord. Great sports example for all young people to follow. Noth are greatly missed.

my dad passed away on 2/13/2010 . this song brings back so many memories that i shared with my dad. im an only child. my died also passed away from throat cancer. i played this song at my dads funeral. rest in peace Toby and thank you for such a meaningful song. when you lose someone it never goes away it will get easier as time goes on but its still there. my prayers go out to your family.

It made me remember and miss mama and daddy (6 1/2 years & 6 years, respectively). I miss them every day. Father's Day this year was the day daddy went home.
I found out that at the age of 54, I need to have my tonsils removed. They are huge. When I had strep throat about a month or two ago, I ignored it until I felt like I had crushed glass in my throat and then I looked. I had a straw size hole to swallow through. I couldn't take my meds. Anyway, the doctor says your mama or daddy or grannie is going to have to take care of you. I said, they're all dead. That's why I am caregiver for my oldest brother who is severely mentally and physically handicapped. So, all that emotion came swelling up inside. He said that I was going to need to be taken care of for at least two weeks. I don't have anyone who can do that, I am searching. But, my tears are for myself. They're all in Heaven, no pain or suffering anymore. God bless.
His name is Wayman Tisdale, He had bone cancer and played basketball for OU and Toby I believe went to school with him. Then he played guitar for him. He wrote this song on request of his family to sing at his funeral . He was going to sing it live for them but got to emotional so he had it recorded. I believe he sang it on a tv show but I am not sure.

I actually have heard this. It's about one of T.K.s band mates. I cried so many times to this song. It's exactly what I did when my brother died. This was a song that really hit home. This song helped me through my brothers suicide.

What a great man with so much talent and love. Toby Keith has become quite the song writer these days. I highly recommend the recent movie "The Mule" directed and starring Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper. Apparently Toby Keith wrote the last song for the movie just for the movie. It is called "Don't let the old man in" and it has special double meanings directly from a quote Clint told Keith about staying young. Anyway the song is so special so you ought to react to it Tie. And definitely check out the movie. There are so many lessons hidden in it. God bless.

The significance for me of this reaction my brother in law Jason passed away early on a Thursday morning in middle of night he was 27 it was on 2009 I was so hurt I felt numb I couldn't really get everything out cause my husband that is 7 years older than jason was really hurting and my 14 year old son was in agony I focused on them by the time we got to end of funeral I cried so hard like a balloon getting air out
