Just wanted to say I've been watching since the Ancient Times of TWW1, and this is the best your content has ever been! So awesome seeing the game like this, and you kicking ass with the worst-performing factions in the game. Just a delight to watch
they were mostly zombies though, I think they have the "meat shield" attribute so they really don't have much weight. two of them equals a glade/dryad unit's cost.
Glade riders with spears, a dinky tier 1 light cav unit, was probably the most important addition to their roster in their 2nd dlc. And when did melkoth's get buffed like that?
Since I got the highlight I'll at at 7 ap and 15 base ranged damage hagbane tips have better AP than any other tier two bow unit (other than dark shards), poison and magic damage. The poison damage is unique to the glade guard tho, brettonian peasant archers don't get this bonus.
@@MasterOps0 in a straight fight, dryads trade well with ghouls, if they're occupied with zombies or skeletons and the ghouls get a decent charge however... they also got vanguard, that's useful. if you run into a tree kin build they're not gonna be of much use though, they're also vulnerable to glade riders, so idk if it's worth to bring them tbh.
If for no other reason because ghouls are fast and provide full capture weight. And yes they do trade decently into most WE infantry aside from dryads.
I want to see what you are talking about! But what book are you talking about, because it surely isn't the 8th edition one because this is exactly the way they looked there?
Wonder if a hero with a bow like a Waystalker or Glade Captain just poking Vlad would be more effective than a whole unit of archers firing everything and missing 90% of the shots.
Even if shooting at Vlad was sensible in the first place, Waystalkers and Glade Captains are utter and complete trash at shooting and most other things, last I checked.
Hey Turin I enjoy watching your videos a lot. It’s a fun pass time. I wish I could get into the competitive scene, it seems fun but I’m also stupid. I’m the type of guy who plays normal difficulty campaigns and usually puts the battles in slow motion when battles get to fast. xD
Same here when it comes to battles. I play slo-mo most of the time. But campaign is always Very Hard. Have been trying to up the game a little recently, but maybe we are just too slow :3
Those wood elves really made the vampires 'pine' for a victory they'd never 'oak'tain. It seems the vampires couldn't handle that 'root' force attack... Arrow pun
Always good to see the vamps get whooped. Always seems like an uphill battle, even since the old days of Warhammer 1 - but Kurnos bless this ravaged body!
I was suprised the wood elves ended up winning since the initial archertide didn't seem to accomplish much besides killing the corpse carts. All the archers from the initial army are more or less compromised at 4 minute ingame mark, but I guess they shut down key targets since the remaining Count units couldn't really beat Eternal Guard in a grinding fight.
they forced a massive overextend that got punished way later over the course of the game. they are the reason vlad and the wights were mostly irrelevant this game. without them the blood knights wouldve been used more conservative and couldve been more relevant. its really subtle value that tipped this game
I like the woodelf play but i was thinking at the midgame what where when the woodelf player had a forestdrake in reserve army and in the pocket fights he could use breath attacks with out getting shoot and pounce on every fight except vlad and the wight kings!!!
Eternal guard are definitely unmatched throughout the elven factions. Imo high elves need a rework but with 23 factions and the release of new content I do not put it high on the priority list.
I'd say eternal guard are the best basic spear unit. Silver shields and ap. Asrai spear wardancers are great too since they have a toggleable missile resist
Great game to cast, that was a lot of GG. Wood Elves seem like a menace this patch, I’m interested to know what changed to make them so good. Is it just archers making everyone fighting in the shade?
I kinda figured that factions that tend to counter WE are having a tougher time than usual (chorfs did a lot on that end). Without the typical abysmal matchups being prevalent they've had some solid spotlight moments.
Love the videos brother. if you don’t mind hearing this video idea please read. i’ve been trying to get into warhammer 3 multiplayer but just don’t have a good clue on battle tactics, army compositions, and overall play style. I feel like with your knowledge and great expertise you’d be able to make an informative video for newbies on multiplayer. I know you did a tier ranking systems in the past but I think deep dive into multiplayer will help lots of new people. thank you!
On a beginning I started to think that asrai have too many archers, but then the heroes got locked and bats are countered, so this is a real great crisis-management from femboys, love it. And turin, am I blind or some arrows just invisible? I the that corpsecart hp fell down, but no missiles flying near, just standing archers in a rear. Like arrows hadn't visualized((
I do love to see a resurgence of the Wood Elves, one thing I'm wondering and I'll admit to not having great pvp insight but if you're going to face a faction known for their chaff, and double foot hero builds why not at least one unit of Wardancers? Though the Eternal Guard performed well
I think it’s not a good idea to do this on a small map. I think it would have been better on Black arc as you would be able to support your missiles with the many vanguard units while the counts would need to walk a long way
Nice unit cap mechanic there, CA. Be a shame if someone were to... bring the max amount of each variant of t1 unit to represent the turn 10 campaign experience
For those lords that are super tanky and prone to getting bogged down, i think you should make an effort to make sure they are bogged down ON OBJECTIVE
Yeah. Love the faction but the old campaign was kind've a painful map painter without too many good mechanics. The new one is... weird. Not sure how to feel after the rework
@@dome2919 If we at least got six or eight build slots in all capitals, that would be an improvement. All the settlements and capital buildings looking pretty much the same just makes the experience boring about fifty turns in or so.

The boy really just maxed out on every single copy of the cheapest wood elf units thats kind of awesome lol
Kurnous bless these ravaged arrows!
Blows my mind at the end there, that entire horde of undead in the center had no weight against what little elves remained.
they were mostly zombies though, I think they have the "meat shield" attribute so they really don't have much weight. two of them equals a glade/dryad unit's cost.
@@Tarathiel123 Yep, the attribute "expendable" makes the zombies and skeletons worse at capturing than other infantry.
Glade riders with spears, a dinky tier 1 light cav unit, was probably the most important addition to their roster in their 2nd dlc. And when did melkoth's get buffed like that?
Entirely. Before glade riders w/spears, WE had to foot the bill for wild riders and suffer that units paltry survivability
Melkoth was always amazing. Everyone just spammed Pit of Shades for a Year and a Half
Fun fact, hagbane tips have better AP damage than vanilla arrows, giving them some extra utility into armor
Since I got the highlight I'll at at 7 ap and 15 base ranged damage hagbane tips have better AP than any other tier two bow unit (other than dark shards), poison and magic damage.
The poison damage is unique to the glade guard tho, brettonian peasant archers don't get this bonus.
I don't think I've ever seen a near max stack of glade guard. Lmao that's is an absolute fuck ton of arrows.
WE player out here with a turn 5 campaign doomstack
@@SimoLInk1698 and win vlad turn 10-20 doomstack!)
In this matchup crypt ghouls could be a nice addition, they can put the hurt on eternal guard, dryads, and even the WE cavalry is lightly armoured
I'm not sure they trade very well with dryads, they both have high damage, but the dryads are much tankier

This WE army having NO elite unit, NO hero, NO LL is impressive
It's almost like the VC player got trapped into the overextension.
Really wish the Eternal Guard looked like they do in the Wood Elves book. With Corinthian Helmets and heavy, wood themed, armor.
If you get your wish, tell them to do the coatl some justice...
I want to see what you are talking about! But what book are you talking about, because it surely isn't the 8th edition one because this is exactly the way they looked there?
@@Vahkitauti My Wood Elves book was bought back in 2008 I think. I do not recall the edition. And it wasn't the look of the models, just the artwork.
17:45 felt. Wild riders have been struggling for awhile but glade riders with spears were a godsend. They make this build possible/viable
Wonder if a hero with a bow like a Waystalker or Glade Captain just poking Vlad would be more effective than a whole unit of archers firing everything and missing 90% of the shots.
Once he gets stuck in units the ways taker will no longer have los
people thinking they have to kill vlad is why he's so good
@@obesechicken13 This. On top of that waystalkers had a bad habit of missing shots, much like old bone giants. Not sure if that's changed

It's good to see their core thematic play and iconic units produce a win
