Hi Everyone! I am so happy that this video has been so helpful to so many of you!! While this video contains a lot of great information for beginners, I have learned so much more and have since evolved my reselling business to be better than ever! Please feel free to take a look at my other videos and follow along with me as I continue to learn and share my experiences reselling with you!! :)
Best video Ive seen on resealing clothes so far. Have a baby on the way and was looking for creative ways to make some side income. Thank you for this great info.
This video was very helpful! I sell mainly my shirts from my personal closet and a few other things to declutter. Shirts seems to be the easiest to sell, because they are so light. I do avoid anything breakable to ship. Facebook Marketplace is my favorite to sell on.
Thank you jessica!! I started a part time job at a goodwill outlet and im a mom and ive had a spark in my brain lol to start resale business , and you gave me the greatest tips and answered my questions and questions i didnt know i needed to ask! For that i am gratefull , happy holidays and thank you
Thanks Jessica, I have been wanting to start a used clothing business for a year, and I believe the time is now. I have a few bins of clothing, but I was unsure of the shipping and payment process, so thanks for this video.
Hey, I know you commented 2 years ago but just wanted to answer in case you were wondering. The spreadsheet used was a simple Microsoft Excel one with some simple formulas. Happy to send you a template if you still needed.
Great info! What I noticed first though even before I read your shirt is that you have light in your eyes! It’s rare to see online so it surprised me for a minute haha. (Fellow believer here!☺️)
Hi Jessica!! I’m really interested in starting to do this as well, reselling on FBM and maybe expand to other platforms too! And your video truly inspired me and helped me understand a lot about this reselling world! I love how organized, helpful, and informative this was! I have a question: how much te do you spend daily or weekly working on listings, posting, mailing, etc.? Thank you!
Did you start selling on fb market place using your name or did you create a Facebook account with your business name? Also to start would you get a tax ID # or wait til sales reach states limit? Thank you!
I'd like to know that as well. Also, I wondered what address she put on the parcels her own or a PO box. And I don't recall her mentioning shipping costs.
I'm sorry maybe I missed it are you selling on just regular Facebook marketplace or do you have a Facebook marketplace business page they are 2 different things so I'm a little confused.
Hi! I know this is an older video, but I'm wondering if you use Facebook Shops or if you are simply selling in marketplace with your personal account. In the above video, it looked like you had an actual page, like an ebay store, so I wondered what you're using. Thanks so much for all the good info!
VERY HELPFUL AND DETAILED VIDEO.THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB. P.S. YOU ARE A VERY PRETTY YOUNG LADY AND YOUR DOGGIE IS SWEET. I'M IN TEXAS TOO!
Great video, very informative appreciate you sharing this information I’m not great on Excel formulas, hope I can figure out how build it so it will calculate profits & loss, 🤣
This might a late comment but I'm looking to sell some of my clothes on facebook marketplace, but they're usually all plain shirts (from H&M and such) but they are in great shape. My question is that is it even worth selling it?
Hi Thanks so much for this video. The question i have is when you had something sold after 2 months, doesn't it fall out of the algorithm? How do you keep it on top, unlist and relist?
Would displaying clothes on a dressmaker's manican or having someone model it ( wear it) ? Which one do you think would be best? Thank you for your help 🙂
Thank you for this video. I had a question. Did you open a separated account for your business before selling things? And do you also need a business license before starting?
I don’t use this spreadsheet setup anymore as I’ve moved over to the spreadsheet by MogiBeth! -but I believe in this one I was just using a basic subtraction formula to subtract my cost of goods from my earnings (after the platform fees.) Let me know if you have any more questions! ❤️
I really like your video. It's very sincere. Best video I've seen on resealing clothes so far. I have some question. If the customer is not satisfied with the product, how do you deal with that? Refund? TIA.
That really depends on what the problem is! If the buyer has a problem with the item not fitting, they don’t like the quality, or something else that is out of my control, I don’t give refunds. I always give out measurements, fabric content, disclose all flaws, and answer any questions before someone buys to make sure they know exactly what they are getting! The only time I will give a refund is if I made a mistake, like missed a flaw or gave the wrong measurements. Even then, on Poshmark the buyer has to open a “case” and provide proof that something is wrong with the item, then the Poshmark team will decide whether or not to refund.
Thanks Jessica, good info. I didn't catch the name of the label printer. What was it? Also, you use US postal service is that correct? I believe FB's shipping is with UPS. Are we still able to opt out of Marketplace shipping? Thanks again.
I use a Dymo 4XL printer! I have it linked in the description! I only use USPS yes! Fb does allow you to choose USPS as your shipping option, but I *think if the item is over 1lb it’s cheaper to use Fbs UPS shipping option. If you don’t want to offer shipping on FB then you don’t have to! You can keep it local pickup only! :)
Hi I am from Texas as well. Planning to do the same. I am selling clothes to my community. Just started yesterday but curious if I need to apply or register for business license or I just need a seller permit?
Can someone please help! I just tried to sign up and list on eBay, it asks for a category, I wrote used clothing, then it wanted to filter it down to clothing for babies, women, men etc. The thing is, I am selling for adults and children, men and women, but there's not an option for this and I can't continue to try to list. I don't know what to do next.
Thank you for sharing this information. So if you do ship, how will the buyer purchase the item from you? Do you send them an invoice or can they purchase directly from Marketplace?
Thanks for your video! My question is a bit different. How do other sellers do it when receiving payment on fb if the account is under a nickname that is not their legal name/last name? I know you need to link your bank account which I did, and I know you can create a fb account without using your legal name/last name. So I was able to list my items for local Pick up/meet up with no issue. And later gave me the “offer shipping” option I clicked on it and it did the change and It asked for my legal name and lastname for my bank account / shipping from info. I have entered the info. Then the next day I got my account disabled. It asked to show my face and move in diff angles and submit it to fb to make sure I’m a real person, so I did that verification process. My account is enabled now which is good, but my banking info/ shipping from info is deleted. Can you please help me, thanks!
I'm thinking about how many clothes I've given to Goodwill.....clothes I got too fat/old to wear, and clothing I NEVER wore (I have 3 evening gowns I thought I'd wear on a cruise one day....nope.) I'm going to stop giving them away. I don't care if I only get $4 bucks for a dress, that's $4 I didn't have. I thought Goodwill was really helping people with disabilities to have a job, and people with little income be able to buy clothes. Evidently not.
can i ask you a question: Is it easy to be detected as a violation by the system if the name of the brand is written on the title of the uploaded product. Before I uploaded the title of the clothes with Burberry short sleeves, the system judged that I violated the rules and closed my marketplace. I can't find the cause of the problem.
Facebook has very strict rules about selling name brand items like Burberry. Because there are so many fakes out there, and Facebook has no way to authenticate them, I think they just take down a lot of the listings trying to sell them. Their system is very smart too! It picks up those name brands not only from the title and description, but even the photographs/patterns in the photos. I think there’s a way to sell authentic high end items without your account/listing getting removed, but I’m not sure how to go about that! (Or what their system is wanting you to do to prove the item is authentic) Personally I would try a different platform like Poshmark where they have an authentication process for items $500+! -or use a third party authentication to accompany your listing! Good Luck! :)
Do you mean the “prepaid shipping label” vs “your own shipping label” option on FB? Prepaid allows buyers to pay for shipping and then FB will automatically send you a shipping label for it! This is what I do! Otherwise, you have to go purchase your own shipping labels and it can get expensive/time consuming. I’m not sure about prepaid envelopes, I just ship my items in a plain polymailer with the prepaid label that FB provides!
So I have been selling on FBM for about a year here and there. A friend was charged a chargeback on three of her orders this week so i was reading through the terms. I didn't realize that a buyer can dispute transactions with their bank and we can be charged for an item we were already paid on! Do you use a separate bank account or anything? This is really scary to me. Also should we sell as an individual or sign up as a business? (If you want to read about this: go to marketplace, help, then type in "What Happens If A Buyer Files A Purchase Protection Claim" and click on seller policies)

Thank you sooooooo much! You are so sweet and kind for sharing your process.
Great tips! What if you just want to do local pickup and not ship at all? Does FB marketplace support this option?
Thank you for sharing, and all the links provided. Great video. Good luck with your journey.

Exactly what I have been looking for! 😂
Do you pay shipping or does the buyer? /a video on how that works with Facebook would be awesome!
The buyer pays for shipping! I just input the weight of the item when listing so FB knows how much to charge the buyer for shipping!
Thank you for the helpful tips. Jessica. How much shipping usually cost?
love your shirt
Thank you a million and a half!!!

Good question. I would like to know.
Sharing yo groups doesn’t work anymore so I don’t have views! My old listings show .. not sure why and Facebook don’t help!
My sales are down to zero no matter what I do
Is that limit $600.00 per. Month?

Nope! Buyers pay extra for shipping!
