This is so interesting and nice moderation. It's funny how many people can't interview with spontaneous questions that logically follow along with what people are saying. So often it's more a list of prepared questions with no context, so if something unexpected comes up there's no follow up.
Thanks so much for sharing! I've sold over 80 percent of our belongings through Facebook marketplace when we downsized only because all the thrift stores were closed for donations during covid. Years ago I sold quite a bit on ebay and I gave it a try again and was sooo disappointed in their platform and seller fees. I still don't know how to access my PayPal account on there. So frustrating. I'm a Facebook marketplace fan and am loving this video as I'm really considering shipping items soon. As for the algorithms and items not getting views I find it usually occurs when Facebook is doing an upgrade. I also write ridiculously long descriptions and post multiple pictures. I rarely sell clothes. Mostly home decor and vintage items.
This was definitely the best information I have listened to so far answering several of the questions I have had in my mind from being a re-seller myself for a few years now. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the great info. I’ve only used FB Marketplace for local sales, so it’s really helpful to hear from sellers who are doing national sales & shipping.
Thank you soooo much to everyone taking their time out of their busy days to make this video. I learned a ton! It’s so weird how what sells for one person, Won’t for another. On another note, Amber I just started listing last week on FB, haven’t had a sale but have always had the shipping option but I’m an oldie so, I’ve had my FB page for a while now. I also have an awesome Minkpink yellow wide leg pantsuit / romper with ZERO views! So I get u on that. Weird! Keep up the good work, u are killing it!
How do you feel about all of the scammers that are on Facebook marketplace? For example, I will list an item and someone will message me saying they’re interested in an item, then ask me for my phone number. Clearly that’s a scammer. But it happens on every item I list lately. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?
Someone just straight up asked for my address lol. Always saying theyll send someone to pick it up while they pay on FB or some other cash app lol hell na
Don’t reply to anyone the first 20 mins of posting it’s almost always a scammer!! I make it clear I won’t “” respond to “ is it available?!” If I do get that question, I immediately report and block it’s a scammer have found that to be the case. It’s a robo set up with the scammers once you post your item, best way for me has been to not jump to responding right away , patience pays off has for me!! Been a highly rated seller for 3 years now and do it for full time pay for part time work! 😉
I haven’t sold on market place for a couple years. Just listed a few items & it’s overwhelming how many scammers are asking for text or phone call. Not one legit response on 4 listings.
Amber, thank you very much for putting this together, and thank you other Amber, Drew & Greg for taking part and aligning your schedules to make it happen! :)
Great video ! Tons of useful info. I’m planning to start reselling on Fb but I’m been afraid cause I know nothing about it. I’m afraid I’ll be watching this video a million times :)
I loved this vid & each person giving insight on their experience! Facebook is still such a mystery to me, I'm not sure I will ever feel like I cracked the code. Lol. This last week its been very slow on Facebook compared to the last month or so. I was thinking that was because I no longer have free shipping labels but I did notice almost all of my listing are getting 0 views. It's so weird. I'm talking normal stuff like Crocs, Keen, Nike, etc. that would normally have a ton of views right away and sell in the first hour they were listed all of a sudden don't even seem to be getting seen at all :/
I've actually noticed the same the last week or so.. I had originally said I don't see anything abnormal with my views... But now I'm somehow selling things that say "0 views"..
@CanUDraw Something random I just noticed but though it was interesting.. I logged into my "burner account" that doesn't have the shipping option, and the tag feature and the sku feature were both there. But yea, like I said, my account hasn't had tags for a while now.
Loved this video! Will definitely be following your friend Amber as you know I have to support my fellow Iowans. I already follow Drew & Greg cuz they're amazing.
Thanks to you all! My wife and I have her parents estate and a full house of items. They are vintage clothing, antiques, collectibles and so much more. We are overwhelmed! Looks like Facebook may be the way to go and possibly go with eBay.
There are people who will buy entire estates as one big purchase. I work in real estate, and this is very convenient when there is a home that needs to be emptied out in order to sell the house. The buyers will come in and box and remove everything, usually in 1 day. You get your money and life back without too much effort, etc. This service is used a lot in hording situations. Reach out to local real estate offices in your area if interested, they might have contacts.
Thanks for puttin in the time stamps we can click on. When I first saw your video I thought "Oh way too long" but when I saw the links for topics, that motivated me to watch.
Amber, Thank you for hosting and making this video. This video triggered many thoughts for me as a buyer and mostly as a seller. I am 1 of a family of 6 that all buy, but mostly sell on FB Marketplace. As the main brain trust amongst the group, I, along with the rest of the group have all experienced the 0 views, 0 saves, what I call the Absolute 0. I have no solid answer as to why this occurs. But I do have some hunches. I have experienced all the issues and had answers every question posed in your video, which caused me to wish that I had been on the panel to help present and explain the nanny odd occurrences we all experience on Marketplace. If you are willing and would like to exchange ideas and experiences to help figure and navigate Marketplace better, please feel free to reach out to me here first and we could take it from there. Again, Thank you for sharing and creating this content. I hope to speak to you soon.

I’ve watched both videos with this panel, more than once I might add, so I don’t remember which one your conversation with Greg about accepting a check on fb was on, but that just happened to me lol Because of the video, I told her to go ahead and send, and I am quite sure I wouldn’t have had you guys not talked about it! You are correct about the messed up views problem. I have several brand new identical bike seats. The first one sold in 5 days with 487 views on FBMP. I shipped the item and the buyer has received it . Put the second one up with an identical listing 5 days ago and it has 7 views, what the heck.

I still have not decided to do FB shipping although I sell locally..After listening to all of you I might experiment with 10 inexpensive items and see if I have any problems. I like seller protection on my other selling sights so I am slow to change.
I just watched a RUclips video of a reseller saying they are quitting reselling because it's impossible to make a full time living and that people who say they do are lying about how much money they actually make. It's good to read your comment as a full time reseller. What's your secret sauce to lasting full time so long?

This video is a treasure trove of information.... Unbelievable, but you all answered every single question I had regarding using FBMP - I've used EBAY since their beginning and am fed up with the return policy they have in place. They basically allow buyers to rent a item for 30 days with no questions asked. I have been tinkering with FBMP but noticed my shipping feature was not available.... I also was debating whether or not I should use my personal ID or create a biz page.... Thanks you all for touching on all of these subjects
Ebay messed me over like that as well, the buyer sent me back a used item, after 60 days of having it, she opened a charge back with her bank, after that, ebay told me it was out of their hands🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Awesome video! I wanted to add that my FB friends see my listings if I don't make them hidden. I have had friends reach out to see if I am moving because of the quantity of listings. People can also comment and like them, and I don't get ANY notifications, it's super weird. Anyway, again, thank you for an awesome video!
I’m always amazed that some sellers want an item back if they have messed up. If an item is damaged or not as described and it’s my fault, I will 100% ALWAYS issue a full refund.
It was great to see different perspectives from such knowledgeable sellers. In one part about shipping you mentioned the cost was only calculated using an items weight. I thought some shipping companies had dimensional limits and would charge more if a package exceeded the dimensions regardless of weight. Have you encountered this in any of the packages you have shipped?
This was so informative and professional! I am just starting to resell and I just want to have fun and wanted to know if I should do fm and I decided not to. If I needed the income I would and stay and work through the herbals. Thank you
Question for the panel. How do we find the biggest buy/sell/trade groups in the USA? All my current groups are great for local business. I’m looking to sell outside my area as well. More eyes More Prize.
Great video! Great to hear their anecdotes. I wonder what do you and the others do with local sales? I have seen on social media that some people just pay and do pickups on doorsteps, but since I live in a large city (LA burbs), I've been told to meet in a public place. I have practically a shed full of housewares and knick nacks I'd like to get rid of and that seems really safe, but time consuming.
That makes sense about the local listings I had been selling locally for years and when shipping started fb just like sent notifications to me like hey free listings if you use this new shipping option so I started listing
Hi Amber, thank you so much for this detail information touching on all aspects of reselling . I have been selling part time on Posh for last one and half year and looking to cross post on FBMP.
Great informative video! I was on eBay back when they took money orders 👵 I just wish there was a way to create a different account for selling on Facebook 🤷 Hopefully they will do that in the future
A little insight on delivery people scanning boxes. I work for regular delivery service from a big truck...if I’m delivering to several doors in like a culdedac or several doors in a row I scan all before leaving my truck so if there are 5... that last person, it may be 2 minutes before I actually place the package at the door. I’ve scanned a box. Delivered 2 before and had the customer waiting at the d3rd door.
I've only sold locally on FB marketplace and I LOSE MY MIND with the 'is this still available?' thing... I get it a lot. Even though the ad clearly states 'if this ad is up it's still available'. I have a short fuse, apparently. ;)
I do meet ups. The buyer and I meetup at a well known, safe place and make the exchange. Cash payments only, No returns or refunds. My anxiety is to bad to trust shipping and or dealing with returns. I have been very successful with bo issues. I only do local
We have sold a lot of Facebook cars , vans. Boats , Rvs. Even clothes, handbags. I would say we are seasoned sellers. But we are having lots of issues lately. As soon as we list something for a porch pick up we get tons of people messaging us wanting to send us codes to steal our info. They want have a legit Facebook profile. It’s so flustering, we sell on eBay , mercari and posh, but need a local place to sell. What is wrong with Facebook? Help ! Leslye
This whole video was so helpful! In regard to privacy - do you recommend opening a PO Box to use as the return address on shipping labels? I've always felt uncomfortable having my personal address on packages which has kept me from offering shipping. Perhaps I could use my spouses work address.. do people do that?
It sounds like a good idea. But, our PO box is $75, for 6 months. So, unless you plan on making a pretty healthy profit, I don't know if it would be worth it. You might be able to find one for less than the post office charges, but I've found that the shipping stores are as much, or more. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer.
Hi Amber, I don't boost my listings on FBMP because I post to other FB Sales groups when I post through the marketplace . I have joined about 37 local & surrounding areas Fb sales groups which some of the groups have 20,000 members, 12,000, etc.
I have the same problem with views on some items. I sold so much in April and May, my listings were getting hundreds of views. Now my listings are getting very little views.
Regarding the shipping - I talked with a facebook rep and they said if you have a new account then they supposedly make you wait ~1-2 weeks to get shipping.
I feel like many people leave the default shipping price/option and don't remove it. They just don't know how it works. That's why you see couches shipping across the country for $9. I think its less scams and more people just not knowing how it works. Gotta remember that by default shipping is on and you have to manually remove it/change to local only. Also people don't realize the money is an "escrow" account until after the item is marked shipped and received.
Hi guys, I am absolutely intrigued with your conversation in this video! I do very similar to what you guys do but potentially on a slightly larger scale. I run a Junk Removal company and I try to sell as much stuff as I can that we retrieve off of jobs but at the risk of sound like a bit of a jerk but I throw out the stuff that you guys are talking about selling in this video. I feel horrible doing it but I just don’t have the time or Storage to process and sell all of it. We recycle hundreds of thousands of pounds of other recyclables, but really struggle to find the time and effort required to sell all of the good usable items other people are just throwing away. I’m curious if there is some insight that you guys might be able to provide . How can I get the good usable items I retrieve off of Junk Removal job sites into your hands for much less than you’re already paying? I’m located in Edmonton, Alberta, and, I have so much inventory as it is I could fill a Home Depot. How could we help each other?
There’s a guy in my area (Sacramento California) who seems to have a connection to someone like you. I wonder if you took a look at resellers in your area, on Fb marketplace or maybe Craigslist, who sell auction lots/storage locker sales, etc and see if they’d be interested in buying lots from you. If I lived closer I’d be interested, lol.
I love that you are helping us. I have recently been getting something went wrong when I am shipping. I have contacted fbmp and I did not get many any answers. Is there a limited amount that you can list daily? Do you have any suggestions?
I have found that I can sell higher end hardgoods on FBMP. My pottery, glass and Dept 57 figurine stuff sold FAST over Christmas. However, clothing sits & sits. Have not figured out clothing on FB except Harley Davidson shirts. Random!!
I couldn’t get shipping at first but whenever anyone asked I just took pay pal and used pirate ship I had a truck n of local sales and still did not have shipping but I just accepted pay pal used pirate ship to ahip
In my area buyers rarely use the offer button and negotiate thru messenger. I sell larger items at lower prices on marketplace. I don’t want the non conforming shipping headache. I never give out my phone number or and info unless they are standing at my door.
Facebook marketplace has scammers on there to sometimes I get a message of they say that they to tex them back to see if I'm real I always check their profile s

I think this was a AWESOME and helpful video! Great job ya'll!
Great panel, super helpful!
Thanks Caleb!
Great content! And, good job organizing and moderating the discussion.
Thank you!
Hey, I'm a newer channel, Also doing some Facebook marketplace content. Feel free to check it out.
Good video and guests with their experiences! Thank you for your advice
Lol at 42:90 his church members voice "you post a lot of random things on Facebook don't you"
I’m always amazed that some sellers want an item back if they have messed up. If an item is damaged or not as described and it’s my fault, I will 100% ALWAYS issue a full refund.
Your videos are always so informative! Thank you for sharing!!
Good question! please visit my channel. I have a lot of tips to offer.
This was so informative and professional! I am just starting to resell and I just want to have fun and wanted to know if I should do fm and I decided not to. If I needed the income I would and stay and work through the herbals. Thank you
Very useful tips and input from this well organized presentation. Thanks so much
Question for the panel.
I use Craigslist or local selling Facebook groups. 🙂
HI, I am just reaching out to show people that crypto isn't the only way to make money, try our channel for some good dropshipping content.
Thank you for your awesome video. I love it when I can pick which part I want to listen.
That makes sense about the local listings I had been selling locally for years and when shipping started fb just like sent notifications to me like hey free listings if you use this new shipping option so I started listing
Drew, you can cross post to Facebook with List Perfectly.
“Old” is relative, but I appreciate the video about Facebook marketplace. Thank you for posting.
Thank You so much I have been wanting to sell on Facebook marketplace, now I am going to…thanks to this informative video! 😊
Hi Amber, thank you so much for this detail information touching on all aspects of reselling . I have been selling part time on Posh for last one and half year and looking to cross post on FBMP.
Great informative vid, it was a two-cup of coffee experience! LOL
Good morning! Glad we could keep you company during your morning coffee!
Thanks Amber Video was very helpful, I enjoy all your Videos. Best to you.
List Perfectly also cross posts to FBM.
Great informative video! I was on eBay back when they took money orders 👵 I just wish there was a way to create a different account for selling on Facebook 🤷 Hopefully they will do that in the future
You can create another FB account if you have a business based IG account. IG will create it and link it up for you.
Thanks for sharing your expertise! It makes sense that the scans would work that way!
I'm cringing so bad at my audio and terrible camera! Sorry! I think it's definitely time for an upgrade! Thanks for having me on Amber. :)
I need to upgrade mine too! My sound was kind of echoey. The audience got what they wanted though - good information!
I've heard that offering International Shipping will get your out-of-season items shown more. It's always summer somewhere 🙂
Good tip for eBay!
I've only sold locally on FB marketplace and I LOSE MY MIND with the 'is this still available?' thing... I get it a lot. Even though the ad clearly states 'if this ad is up it's still available'. I have a short fuse, apparently. ;)
I think that's mainly because that's the first autofill reply that comes up in the comments
I do meet ups. The buyer and I meetup at a well known, safe place and make the exchange. Cash payments only, No returns or refunds. My anxiety is to bad to trust shipping and or dealing with returns. I have been very successful with bo issues. I only do local
Vinted still is totally free for sellers not as much traffic but no fees and buyers pay a tiered shipping
Thanks for broadcasting this
Hi Amber, I don't boost my listings on FBMP because I post to other FB Sales groups when I post through the marketplace . I have joined about 37 local & surrounding areas Fb sales groups which some of the groups have 20,000 members, 12,000, etc.
Hey, I'm a newer channel. Also doing some Facebook marketplace content. Feel free to check it out.
I learned so much about fb dropshipping☺️ thanks for sharing your knowledge guys☺️👊
I have the same problem with views on some items. I sold so much in April and May, my listings were getting hundreds of views. Now my listings are getting very little views.
Good observation! Please visit my channel, we offer a lot of tips on this matter.
Amber I'm new this is amazing what your doing I really needed this
Regarding the shipping - I talked with a facebook rep and they said if you have a new account then they supposedly make you wait ~1-2 weeks to get shipping.
They would most likely charge the buyer for extra shipping if way off if its like a ounce or 2 off they usually blow it off
Do you suggest selling vintage items on Facebook Marketplace? (Lalique Crystal, Glassware, and Vintage Paintings)
Yes, I’ve had some success on FBMP with some vintage items. For example, I sold many precious moments from the early 90s very quickly on fbmp.
Greg, let me get you a new camera brother! lol
57:08 Maybe fresh scallops? Seafood? Probably wouldn't like you shipping that, Amber!
Boosting works best on local pickup only and actually good product that you can use everyday not some boots
Thank you for this video! Super informative!!
This is amazing. Great content.
On marketplace you have to mark stuff cheap if you want to get rid of it. It's crazy.
Random!!
This was incredibly helpful! 😊
Great content. Very helpful. Thank you.
I couldn’t get shipping at first but whenever anyone asked I just took pay pal and used pirate ship I had a truck n of local sales and still did not have shipping but I just accepted pay pal used pirate ship to ahip
Thanks for the video!! Super helpful!
So helpful! Thanks you all!
It is five per cent but they also take a percent of shipping
