    I feel ancient. I miss the Kinder Eggs of my childhood. Glad Jed got to see how cool our toys were when we had them as kiddos. I still love Kinder Eggs to this day, and I’m very disappointed in America for not allowing them. Canada DOES have them. The boyf always gets me a bunch when I go to visit him in Sweden. I admit I’m still kinda useless, and he ends up making the toys most of the time.
    There’s also a Kinder app now. To sign up I had to have my grown up say it was okay. Boyf is now my grownup so I can play on it 😄
    Jed seemed surprised the Kinder Egg came with chocolate. I’ll assume momentary shock and sudden amnesia that the eggs come with (oh so delicious Kinder) chocolate and a toy. I know you have to be a fantastic mum who would never ever deprive her kids of the magnificence of Kinder Eggs.
    My burning question: where did you find 20 yo Kinder Eggs?
    Second burning question: did you try the chocolate from the old eggs? Even a little bit just out of curiosity?
    This is seriously the coolest giant version of everything you’ve giganticized. (Yes that’s a totally a word I definitely did not just make up). 😁❤️

    The older toys were much more fun to build and to play with, but I guess they had to stop it due to its tiny particles(to prevent from choking).

      I think if everyone is honest, the change is profit driven. The tooling to make some of the older toys would have been serious investments of money, and in this day and age shareholders won't stand for that.
      Really they are riding off the reputation the Kinder Surprise built up when we were children, knowing that we will buy them, and today's children won't have much to compare them to. We all know things are better in the 70s, 80s and even 90s, but that won't stop children now wanting them.
      Shame Ferrero let it go downhill.

      White chocolate isn't really chocolate. It was made and called that for people who have chocolate allergies since it's a form of coco butter....can you eat that? If not my condolences

    • @jpe1
      @jpe1 4 года назад +8

      your dignity I know your comment is 5 months old but hopefully you see this... I had a chocolate allergy for years and years but after I started eating a strictly plant-based diet (“vegan”) I discovered that I can eat vegan chocolate without any ill effects (that is, chocolate with no diary products in it). I mentioned this to my doctor and he said “most people who are allergic to chocolate are actually allergic to one of the other ingredients, often the milk.” So my anecdote isn’t medical advice, but you might (in consultation with your doctor) test and see if perhaps dairy-free chocolate is ok for you to eat.

    OMG! Your kid is sooo cute! "safety first! Safety first!"
    We had a few old kinder toys until a couple of years ago when my father lost when he moved... We had the complete collection of gnomes, a couple of tigers and some others... They were one piece toys, and Idk the material, but it feels like ceramic or something hard and glass-y...
    Oh I loved kinder eggs! We didn't have much money so we weren't used to have a lot of dessert/candy/stuff like that, non essencial, but the eggs weren't that expensive and was always fun to guess whatwas inside!
    (now they cost around R$8-10, super expensive for what they are and the toulys aren't so nice)

      I was in Germany back in 2000. One of the sets in the eggs were these little tin figures from a medieval set - King, Queen, Knight, Monk, and a couple of others. I collected enough of them to make a chess set and painted the details with acrylics to have a white and a black set. Lost them in the move back to the states. I was so upset.

    I like the older ones better. They actually require the kids to use their mental capacity more in building and constructing since there were more pieces. It seems the newer ones are made for quick and easy usage instead of actually stimulating the brain or creative part of a child's mind.
