    i remember being in awe when i came across the arganoth in lotro for the first time.. like i knew it'd be there, and it would most likely look the same as in the movies, but i suppose from how immersive i get in the game, it took my breath away. i got so excited, i took as many screencaps and shared it with friends in discord

    I was so addicted to this game when it came out. Joining alpha beta, buying 2 life time accounts, having 2 computers and 2 characters going at the same time being up for 48ish hours straight over the weekend. After watching this makes me want to reinstall the game and get back into it.

      @@AdventureGameHotspot I also have a soft spot for the fords of the Bruinen. Its exactly like the scene from the film. I really wish they had included the Barrow Downs in the film it is one of my favourite chapters of the novel.
      Cold be hand and heart and bone,and cold be sleep under stone
      Never more to wake on stony bed, never, till the Sun fails and the Moon is dead
      In the black wind the stars shall die, and still on gold here let them lie
      Till the dark lord lifts his hand over dead sea and withered land.

    I believe the Game is MORE RICH in details than the movies, altough you can see the movies aesthetics influence on much of it. Somehow this game always had me put under some spell of FAIRY TALE immersion since 2012 because it MAKES THE BOOKS SO LIVELY.
    Idk how to explain, but you really feel that thats how the books should look and sound like. Even thr sensations of AWE and HORROR are the same you get when you read about Rivendell, Lorien, Edoras vs Barrow Downs, Minas Morgul and Mordor.
    Not complaining nor despising the movies, i still love their own insight on it because, since theyre live actions, you get to see how Middle Earth would appear in OUR REAL WORLD. You really feel something amazingly dubious with the movies: a sense of fantasy and escape and a sense of REALITY, by wich i mean it makes you believe that SOMEWHERE on the planet Earth there IS A PLACE you get to go to see Middle Earth.
    Thats where the game differs the most: its visual and STYLE reminds those ilustrstions from Fairy tales books from childhood, maybe because of Hildelbrands (a Tolkien Designer) inllustrations's inffluence!
    Thank you very much for dedicating your time for this video, its really a good insight and one i always had when i watched the movies after a game session.
    And its always comendable to see someone praising this hidden jewell tbat is LOTRO, we mist keep it alive and dear, and tell people about its particular and atemporal( yes, even being old as it is) beauty.
    As for the comparisson: Both are peefect in their own ways.

    I love it how they did their own take on the locations based off the books rather than the movies. Yeah, I do agree that they inspire some of it from the films though not completely which mind you was a good thing. Least they inspired from both of the movies and book. When I first enter into the Paths of the Dead, I was surprise to see the 'shades of men' as blue rather than green like in the films. It was a nice color addition for me - now I don't know which I like better! Maybe both? xD I thought the locations around Rohan/Edoras and Helm's Deep were a cool addition as well where they made the walls intricate and with red flags to Helms Deep.

      @AdventureGameHotspot  2 года назад +1

      Yes! I think the movies were great but we’ve already seen that interpretation. Not many of us want to experience the same world twice. The best part of LOTRO is the exploration.

      @mornarmo5833 2 года назад

      Just a heads-up, while they are inspired somewhat from the movies, they can't copy any assets from them, since they only have the rights from the books.
      Like, the only time they were denied something by the license holders is their initial depiction of Orthanc, that looked too similar to the one of Peter Jackson.
