    For some books the notations are different but answer is same SS treatment as SS between, SS error as SS within,etc.

    I don't usually comment on Videos, but I just wanted to give an extra big thank you for explaining this in such a clear and concise manner...pretty much blew away all the DAYS my teach spent on one way anovas in about 7 mins.     I saw other definition using sum of squares of the ‘difference from sample mean’ rather than sum squares of the sample itself. It seems using the difference makes more sense as this is measuring the variance behaviors.

    In general, n can be different for each level, in which case the calculations get hairier.
    It is an IDEAL CASE when n is the same for each level.

    thank you so much for this video, our professor only teaches us how to do this with this ridiculous statistics program called jmp without ever telling us how the thing is calculating it, or why its important, which leaves intuitive thinkers like me lost.
