The Maas Rowe system uses mechanical gongs very similar to your grandfather clocks but with quite a few more notes and tunes it can play. It turns that mechanical sound into a digital signal and plays it over the loudspeakers. Newer carillons use audio files.
I can elaborate on what Chris said with a little bit more detail. Maas Rowe uses super tiny bronze chime rods they are struck with tiny hammers. That noise is then sent through an amplifier. Making these sound as super realistic as they do. Gotta give Chris a shit ton of props because I think this is one of the few videos of these playing hymns not just Westminster Chimes
Chimes start 0:09
Nice Video! I subbed. I’m a church bell fanatic too.
Nice 6pm Westminster melody and hymns the speakers are playing in addition to this video.
That's My Favorite Hymn Almighty Fortress Is Our God
There's another video of this same church carillon playing "Guide Me Thou Great Redeemer (Jehovah)" as the 6 PM hymn.

How do those sound so good? I feel like projection horns seldom produce good audio. Do you think it’s synthesis or a recording?
the compresdsion drivers must have very good diaphragmas of extremely high quality
