That was one of the reasons Yuna had such a good vibe with him. While everyone kept being gloom around her and only Tidus had a bright, innocent attitude, it helped making her feel better.

Well of course he was clueless, he was from dream zanarkand which means he had absolutely no knowledge of the outside world/spira.. There are no summoners or machina in Dream zanarkand so it's understandable of how clueless he is to everything in spira except for blitzball which is the only thing DZ had in common with spira.
Maybe that's why they made it so hard to get Rikku in that scene. You're extremely unlikely to get her on your first play. It's practically impossible.
you have to not heal lulu when your in battles, and make her die, also heal rikku and give cheers and heal her, that's how I got rikku to ride with tidus, pretty enchanting scene, it just didn't feel right with lulu in my opinion
@@aqua995 Lulu is serious like that because the rest of the group is young and mostly immature. Just like Auron, she needs to keep them focused to the task Khimari is too quiet to keep things straight in the group unlike Lulu and Auron.

In FF this strend started with 8, in 7 everybody was in their early to late 20s and a couple of characters in their 30s. I think Tidus and Rikku act their age, even though their looks and voices sound older. THe rest of the characters look and act much older than they actually are, but it might be expected considering the conditions they live in and the experiences they've had.
You don't have to be an adult to be likable or cute. Yuna is an example of both. Rikku is the reason I picked up the HD Collection again as I think she's terrific. She's what Selfie should have been in FFVIII
While playing FF10 last week I kinda thought Rikku had a crush on Tidus..The way she protected Tidus from the truth of what was about to happen to Yuna.
No,its not too late..I've decided between my favorite PS 1,2/PS3 FF games,Dragon Age games and 18 other PS1,2/3 RPG plus several NASCAR games plus my 14 various SNES games I think I have a full card and won't be adding any more of the older games. Reposting this for those who want to know how to get Rikku instead of Lulu: Gotta get enough affection points with Rikku. Problem is that the affection mechanics are HEAVILY stacked in Lulu's favor, so most players will get Lulu. You generally have to try to get Rikku, as she joins the party late and you don't have as many opportunities to get affection built up. To get Rikku: when in "talk to everyone" situations, don't talk to Lulu first. You can still talk to her, just make sure to talk to another party member before Lulu. Once Rikku joins the party, talk to her first in those situations. Also, you can win affection points in battle. To game the mechanics, just have Tidus feed Rikku 30 potions or so in battle (you get a point for every time Tidus heals her). If you want to ensure you don't get Lulu, you can always have Tidus attack Lulu in combat, as well (each strike lowers affection by one point). If you want the Rikku dialogue for Guadosalam, you pretty much HAVE to grind out the affection points in battle as soon as you get her. Right at the Moonflow ... as the next area is Guadosalam itself. EDIT: You CAN end up getting the riding scene with Auron, Wakka, or Kimahri, but you have to pretty much go out of your way to be a complete jerk to and ignore the hell out of the ladies.
i dont ignore all the ladies... i just always talked with auron first(cuz hes my favorite character) and let them heal each other when paralyzed on macalania woods
Not just Tidus. Several of the characters' faces don't hit a lot of the right notes. Part of it is due to just updating textures without thinking of the stylistic choices that were made at the time on selling different features of face, clothing, hair, etc. I think the new textures also remove a lot of the emphasis on facial animation. On PS2, and especially up res'd PCSX2, the audience can read a lot more of the face animations clearly because of the original polish Square put into the game. The HD remaster appears quite stiff and detached, almost like it was using an early version of face motion capture, but they did not refine it.
Square Enix actaully didn't have the original source code for 10 and X-2, so a lot of things had to be made from scratch, including Tidus and Yuna's character models.

Get into a fight and make sure the person you want to ride with has high affection with Tidus. Have Tidus heal them frequently, use Sentinel to protect them.
Mechan explains the cold is caused by the Fayth in the temple. The temperature there can get hot apparently but the place stays frozen. Quite the phenomenon, right? That's according to the game's lore anyway.
Fun fact: Whoever Tidus rides with, they will be the first to jump off the Airship, just before the fight with airborne Sin. They will also lob the blitz ball during Tidus' Blitz Ace Overdrive.
Wow, so many people got Lulu... I always got Rikku. But then, I always loved Rikku and never really cared for Lulu, so it makes sense. Heck, after the boss at Mushroom Rock, I never used Lulu in battle again. (And for that matter, I never used Auron anytime I wasn't required to, which I'm guessing is also an unpopular move.)
They looked so good before the remaster!!! They actually looked like humans and had beautiful faces that didn't look like creepy dolls. It makes me so sad how they got ruined in what was supposed to be "remastered" graphics

FFX seemed sorta goofy in the information department. They had features unknown to us in the game, so how was we suppose to know, certain things we did effected the game? If I knew there was a dating system, I would have hung out with Rikku more. It's kinda like Luzzu and Gatta. I had no idea, what I said killed either one of them.

I know Rikku is only 15 in this game but for some reason I like her more than the other 2/girls. She seems to be the sweetest one among them.

Oh my god, I had no idea! I rode with Lulu, so I completely missed this scene! This was SUCH a red flag for the gut-puncher later in the game!

That's possibly true, but not 100% by any means. Affection mechanics don't stop here, they continue indefinitely.
