A beautiful vase! It reminds me of a cross between a Grecian urn and an asteroid field. Don't let the algorithm rule your life, if you need some personal time or time to heal -take it. We will be here.
It's a beautiful piece. Jim if you need to rest please take the time to take care of your health. I hope your knees are doing better. We'll be here for you when you are ready.
Hey Jim, i think this is my favourite piece to date, I hate waste, so to see you make use of various offcuts works well for me. Who knows, one of these days i may be fortunate enough to be able to display one of your pieces in my living room.
Once more you've surpassed yourself with this project. Taking literal scrap wood to make a beautiful piece of art is, I believe, your greatest skill. The imagination it takes to see what these "useless" scraps could become is beyond me! Re: Baker's Cysts. It sounds like this isn't your first experience, but this may help... My father-in-law used to suffer with these. His doctor recommended a home remedy... Take a coin that is roughly the same size as the cyst and hold it against it. Then bind it tightly (taking care not to cut off circulation!) around the knee. Keep it there, with the leg raised and ice packs bound loosely for at least a couple of hours. Release the bindings every two hours to check progress and re-bind. Stay off the leg for at least a day (which will be torture for a man like you!!). Repeat the next day. If no improvement after two days, go to see a doc! I hope this helps. Good luck & btw do NOT worry if you have to miss a week or two. Your health is the most important thing, and we're not going anywhere! We will be here waiting patiently for you to recover! In the list of priorities we are a long way behind family, health, your house move etc. etc!! Take care, Sir and we will see you when you are ready!
Designer Epoxy - Huge pour - nice use of all the off cuts. Nice design really looks good! Get better soon, knees, shoulders and back are always needing turner's attention.
Love the detail on the top. Your health is very important. Please take care of yourself so that we can continue watching your channel for many more years. Designer epoxy
The docs said I needed two knee replacements over 20 years ago... I am glad I waited because the materials and methods used now are much better. I like this piece, but I liked the 2 previous a little better. I enjoyed the video very much as always.

Designer Epoxy - Great job Jim, really love your work and it has inspired me to start doing a lot more resin in my turnings and that has increased customer interest in my products. Your health is #1 priority and we all understand a needed break. Happy Turning.
Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well, please take some time off to rest. Your health is more important. I love the piece you did it is amazing what you did accomplish in making this piece. Awesome work Jim even in all you had to do. It is still an amazing piece. God bless and feel better
Black beauty is an understatement. I appreciate your thinking process. The top you used for the cut down is so nice. It would make a beautiful candle holder. Great job as always..🎉🎉🎉🎉
It just goes to show how great of an artist that you are that you can work through your frustrations and come up with ways to solve whatever problems that crop up. I would like to see more of you adding colors like you did with the peacock series, but then again I just enjoy watching your work. I love how the vase came out
I love the way the crystal white looks like the bioluminescence I've seen in tropical waters. That black is pretty spectacular against the golden hues of the woods used. All in all, a magnificent vase! Thankyou for another great tutorial. Designer Epoxy
Another beautiful piece using those extras and Designer Epoxy. If needed, take a week, (or more), off for healing - it'll make the return even more impactful.

that detail at the top pulls it from a great looking vase to a really freaking beautiful vase... love it. Take the time to make yourself healthy... if you miss a week you miss a week... no worries. We'll all be here when you're able to be back with another video.
I love the way this piece showcases so many different types of wood (or "wood" in the case of the cactus skeleton) and the beautiful resin pulls them all into one cohesive whole.

Fabulous finished project. Love the crystallized white with the black color. Each piece of wood is very different and creates a beautiful array of color and texture. Basically, if you can't tell, I really think it's great 😍.

This is most definitely a beautiful black beauty. Jim if you need to rest your legs, please do so. We can & will wait for you to recover. Thank you so much 😊 designer epoxy.
Thank you for sharing those turning struggles and triumphs. Listen to your body and doctors. Rest. I’ll keep you and yours in my prayers. If you can rest at your computer, perhaps you can do a montage of clips of your top ten favorite pieces.
Absolutely gorgeous Jim. I see it sold very quickly, no surprise there Take care of yourself Jim, health is everything. I lost the ability to turn for over 15yrs because of back and then knee issues. No fun, trust me
Designer epoxy. At times we've been a divide house on your projects but this time we both agree BEAUTIFUL. I agree the white looks like stars. You're correct that the mileage on the body is what gets you. Rest your body before it makes you rest. I can always watch an old video to get my Jim Sprague fix lol.
Some days you're the windshield.. and some days you're the bug. This one seemed to fight you at every turn. Excellent results however in the end! Thanks for taking the time to point out the great tips on using the hollowing system. I'm still learning how to use it and they're great! The additional tip with adding the White Ice powder to the black for that great epoxy colour! Cheers! Designer Epoxy
Hi Jim please rest up your health must come first like others have said you are the important part of this channel and if your not of good health there would be no magnificent pieces of art done by you. So please take time of. This vase is magnificent and unique I love the burl and the black resin it really stands out. I love all your turnings they are all magnificent. Please dont stop your voice over I really like them they are interesting and informative. Take care and stay safe love you Amanda xx❤❤
Though you struggled, this piece turned out great! Love all aspects from epoxy to burl and those cool cactus bits. Take care of yourself first, we are not going anywhere. 😄
Please take the rest you need. Came in to gush about how much I love your more space-leaning pieces but your health and well being should always come first!
Absolutely beautiful. Your health is more important than our entertainment much as we may miss you we would much rather you take time to care for yourself now so you can come back strong. Love your work and have never been disappointed in your artistic vision and the elegance of your pieces
Another fine example of both your creativity in design and your resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles, Jim. A truly beautiful piece. Meanwhile, I also appreciate your comment about "mileage" and your decision to put your health first. Taking care of yourself now will pay off handsomely later. Besides, your creations and your videos are well worth the wait! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Spectacular. I was with you when you mentioned the piece of wood with the straight edge. It was bugging me too. In the end I don't think it's an issue. Absolutely love the top detail!!! Jim, take care of yourself. We'll survive if you miss a week. Your health is paramount.
I think this may be my favourite of your pieces. I love how the white doesn’t mix in but as you said becomes stars in the epoxy. My husband and I are always seeing familiar shapes in your mixed/multi wood pieces. Thanks for another great video. ❣️❣️❣️
What a beautiful piece it turned out absolutely amazing. All the shimmer in the black are really phenomenal. The burl is absolutely amazing. Once again you showed your amazing craftsmanship and skill also in your recovery skills, which I thought was really cool. You showing your mistakes or things that happen. Once again, thank you for everything you do. It is greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend. Designer epoxy
I think that the end result is an improvement - that extra trimming and the cove on the foot really finished the piece. You definitely achieve the randomness you were looking for, and that designer epoxy turned out beautifully!
Hope your knee heals quickly. Maybe a video on how to prep materials while sitting, or drummel carving while seated. Feel better! Excellent work!!! Designer epoxy.
Oh my gosh!!!!! The colors are spectacular! I like the shape too. A pedal foot to match the top would have looked cool too. Haven't seen you a calabash style piece in a long time. Jim, your creativity is amazing. And I'm like you symmetry is how my brain works too. Have a great weekend. Glad you got a couple showings on the house. 🤞it sells soon. Just rest, you deserve a break sweetie. Listen to your wife I'm sure she is telling you to rest.
I seriously debated making this into a calabash form, and it kind of is without the top coves. My wife is always trying to give me advice, lol. Thank you very much!
Well your black magic is definitely a black beauty. I think that’s a gorgeous piece. Love it. Oh my goodness take a break. You have a lot going and it’s OK to breathe. We all need to every now and then.
This was; I believe, one of your most stunning pieces to date being both elegant and commanding. The color disparity makes this truly beautiful piece with the subtle shimmering depth against the lovely delicate burling. As always a great and a fabulous piece. Be well.😊

This is most definitely a beautiful black beauty. Jim if you need to rest your legs, please do so. We can & will wait for you to recover. Thank you so much 😊 designer epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Thank you for sharing those turning struggles and triumphs. Listen to your body and doctors. Rest. I’ll keep you and yours in my prayers. If you can rest at your computer, perhaps you can do a montage of clips of your top ten favorite pieces.
Thanks so much!
Really like how this came out with the burl pieces and the black resin. Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Absolutely gorgeous Jim. I see it sold very quickly, no surprise there
Take care of yourself Jim, health is everything. I lost the ability to turn for over 15yrs because of back and then knee issues. No fun, trust me
I hear ya, thanks!
Designer Epoxy😊 May your knees soon get better.
Fingers crossed! Thank you very much!
Awesome! Thank you!
Cheers!

Thank you very much!

The voiceovers are here to stay! See you Friday for new content. Thanks
Though you struggled, this piece turned out great! Love all aspects from epoxy to burl and those cool cactus bits. Take care of yourself first, we are not going anywhere. 😄
Thank you very much!
May God bless you and your health. Prayers over you.
Thank you very much!
I like all the different woods with the black. Beautiful piece.
Thank you!
Please take the rest you need. Came in to gush about how much I love your more space-leaning pieces but your health and well being should always come first!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful piece with that designer epoxy. Take a break if you need to. We’ll all be here waiting after you heal up
Thank you very much!
Absolutely beautiful. Your health is more important than our entertainment much as we may miss you we would much rather you take time to care for yourself now so you can come back strong. Love your work and have never been disappointed in your artistic vision and the elegance of your pieces
Wow! Thanks so much!
Beautiful vase Jim. Take care of yourself and we’ll be here when you’re ready. Designer epoxy.
Thank you, I will.
Thank you very much!
Spectacular. I was with you when you mentioned the piece of wood with the straight edge. It was bugging me too. In the end I don't think it's an issue. Absolutely love the top detail!!! Jim, take care of yourself. We'll survive if you miss a week. Your health is paramount.
Thank you very much!
Yes, I like the form at the top. Beautiful when lit from inside.
Glad you like it!
I think this may be my favourite of your pieces. I love how the white doesn’t mix in but as you said becomes stars in the epoxy. My husband and I are always seeing familiar shapes in your mixed/multi wood pieces. Thanks for another great video. ❣️❣️❣️
Thank you so much!

Thank you very much!
I think that the end result is an improvement - that extra trimming and the cove on the foot really finished the piece. You definitely achieve the randomness you were looking for, and that designer epoxy turned out beautifully!
Thank you very much!
Hope your knee heals quickly. Maybe a video on how to prep materials while sitting, or drummel carving while seated. Feel better! Excellent work!!! Designer epoxy.
I will give it some thought. Thanks
I think we saw some EXTRA finesse this week as you overcame some issues, Jim. Spectacular!
Thank you very much!
Thanks so much!
This was; I believe, one of your most stunning pieces to date being both elegant and commanding. The color disparity makes this truly beautiful piece with the subtle shimmering depth against the lovely delicate burling. As always a great and a fabulous piece. Be well.😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Ok. Commented while you were finishing up your video. Take whatever time you need, gotta take care of yourself.
I appreciate that, thanks
Gorgeous!... Difficult but Gorgeous. Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
Beautiful! Resting is always a good idea for injuries.
Agreed, thanks!
I love your color combination Jim, it’s beautiful. You are the most consistent, reliable You Tube content creator that I watch, take a guilt free break dude, you’ve earned it 👍. You are the master with Designer Epoxy 💪
Wow, thank you!
In the words of Jim Carrey...
B-e-a-utiful
I love the profile and colour combination of this piece.
