I use Blender for Archiviz, and I don't give much weight to topology, often they are just many parallelepipeds put together, but I don't understand how someone can argue with someone who gives valuable advice for free and who is clearly very knowledgeable on the subject. Thanks for everything
no, that course utilizes machin3 tools. Hopcutter would be too much for beginners. If you want to learn how to use these addons I suggest the ultimate Guide for Hardops and Boxcutter course, you ll find it on our store. But if you are a beginner in Blender, I'd recommend you go through Accelerator, without basics you'll ge t lost.
Quad topology is the absolute industry standard in the actual real world of 3d modeling. Not sure where you are getting all this 'topology doesn't matter' stuff. Just amazing. A modeler for Pixar does not decide what to model, these models and tutorials are personal use - you can ask Josh Herman, Warick, ask any of the actual pros....
@@Toyversestore This might be true but the modeler never makes this choice. The foundation of a 3d generalist is the coveted all quad clean topo modeling. Ask anyone in the industry. Employers will want to see wireframe, clean quads...ask anyone...
@@criticalwokeracisttheory4645That isn't really the case in all of the industries. Yes, VFX, film making, etc. does require this most of the time. But if you take a look at the gaming industry stuff looks a little different. A lot of games use ngon based meshes for their static objects. Star Citizen is an example and Ryuu even made a video on it.
that depends, for hs i'd say nsolve + other addons like hopscutter, machne tools, mesh machine, for organics quadremesher, for retopo - retopo flow 3, and if you can afford it - outsource it, it's manual labour
The last two examples were the most annoying. Although in Blender 4.3, you can apply more than one weight group to different edges, there are many steps to do so. Will the feature be added to the Boxcutter soon?
btw for people who cant afford hardops and boxcutter try ND plugin its free...btw and try to get atlest mesh machine (Machin3 plugins are mandatory for you to work fast)
I'm glad I saw this, am learning alot. One issue i have had is a random red square box that pops up while I'm trying to build a model. My lastest time I had while building the robotic arm for the tutorial. The red square just popped up on screen and then couldn't get rid of it. I put it discord l, someone mentioned to try clicking control, alt B. I tried it and thankfully the red square over my model disappeared.
no dude don't make this mistake, the high level artists don't even use plugins including myself, only use addons that are crucial, like UV packmaster for example to optimize textures for best quality possible. but hardops and box cutters are a liability in a lot of cases, they just want to use it because they don't work with modular and dynamic assets, not to mention quads are much more optimized for GPUs to render.
@@slayth6332 This is the dumbest shit i ve heard, stop telling people not to use tools that save time. Also if you need qads for a specific workflow, then all these addons can be used for subd, we have an entire course on this. www.blenderbros.com/subd So stop spewing nonsense only becvause you do not have a foggiest idea how to work with those tools.
@@PonteRyuurui why the disrespect? he said never use vanilla blender, that's a false statement, as a matter of fact i use addons myself, and so does everyone, but saying never use vanilla blender just because of having (hardops and boxcutters) is a very beginner-level statement that nobody wants to hear, these addons do not necessarily speed up the work process, it's a different way of working. i used all of these addons and they are useless to me, not saying they are in general but they are very unnecessary
@@slayth6332 You just contrsadicted yourself. Anyways, hopscutter can massively speed up quad workflow too, like i said we got a course on that too. you simply have no idea how to use them.

For non animating and non deforming objects. Topology really doesn't matter much if it's not affecting your shading.
