Fury’s PPV numbers have always been low apart from the wilder 2 fight and even then the promoters struggled to break even because of their layout towards the event as a whole. Whether you like AJ or not, organically he drove numbers and money to this sport, I know he’s fallen off a bit lately after his losses to Usyk and tame comeback but if he fights wilder it will be a block buster, and if he beats wilder and fights fury after the numbers will go through the roof even further. The reality is, fury has made a lot of money off the back of AJ’s stardom, but Fury’s promoters/broadcasters haven’t seen much in terms of a profit from him.
I think Tyson Fury has ruined the heavyweight division he's divided everyone in other words he's put a spanner in the Works we the boxing fans want the best to fight the best and it's proving now that Tyson Fury is not even in the top five contenders .
No they got it wrong about the biggest PPV buys records = Mayweather vs Pacquiao got the biggest buy ever at 4.6 million followed by Mayweather vs McGregor with 4.3 million.
Talksport have 20 odd videos mocking AJ's achievements, now they're admitting he's the biggest draw!! They ignored the numbers and told everyone Fury is the "cash cow" when the truth is the only way he could get anywhere near that AJ money was to fight someone outside the sport in Saudi.. 🤷♂️
Amusing that the people on here saying AJ isn’t a draw and is irrelevant are the same people who multiple times a day EVERYDAY for years now mention him in all their comments. Even on videos that have nothing to do with him! “There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.” ~ Oscar Wilde
It’s not even a debate, hence why Joshua’s name is mentioned every single day whilst holding no belts and being “out in the cold” aj always has and always will be a bigger draw than fury
The nos were low because people have realized who Fury is and they are tired of his bad mouthing, ranting, ducking . He talked himself into hatred. Unfortunately for him, his last fight confirmed that he’s not a Champ he’s claiming. I’m afraid, his fight against Usyk might even do a lesser no. Fury has lost his face and fans. Let’s move on
Nah usyk actually sells PPVs and tickets where as fury’s been a hard sell his entire career even around the time when he fought KKO. He struggled to sell 2k tickets at the MEN for the fight he was supposed to have with Alexander Ustinov and he pulled out of the fight. The traveller community aren’t properly behind him and neither are the U.K. audience. I called it months before fury fought ngannou that Francis never did more than 300k in UFC and fury’s last fight did 600k with chisora that this fight wouldn’t do 500k buys.
Why are you afraid of the numbers being low? Isn't boxing a sport? If it is a legit sport, then Fury should fight Usyk. Or Fury should vacate so that Usyk has the chance at becoming undisputed.
@@HisExcellencyB when his country is at war you mean and most of the refugees In Poland will be women children and old people and he still sold 40k tickets in a country not his own. Usyk did 1.2 million PPV buys last time he was on PPV.
In an analysis of the percieved top 4 isn't it amazing how Joshua, Fury, and Usyk can be said to be in decline or off form. Nothing about Wilder. He gets a gimme because he the best to choose from in the US. If he was any other nationality he'd already be in everyones rear view mirror. Wilder is the luckiest man in Boxing! He has one good win on his resume in Ortiz. He has won just one fight since 2019, and flipped his lid with crazy accusations, bitterness, and delusion after Fury fight ever since. Yet sits on his couch waiting for pay day. Simon doesnt mention loss of form, not being on the slide, or him being mentally weak or lost it unlike all the other fighters being drawn into question. Basically Simon is part of a group of people who got swindled by the big lie put in place to turn Wilder into a big PPV star. So all connected (includimg media) could benefit from trickle down. A plan firstly dragging Joshuas name through the mud (because at that time Joshua was the only show in town) and then beating Fury. Nothing on paper added up to Wilder and Fury being no1 and 2 and a fight would determine who was best in the World. Marketing filled the massive holes in the tale, and that is what was sold over the 3 fights. Based on nothing other than words some even had it Wilder, Fury, and then Ortiz top 3 for a time around the first fight?!?! Then Fury scuppered the party. He wasn't as bad as expected after time out the ring and won. So Fury signed with American base Toprank and the media were happy to insert Furys name where they wanted Wilders to be. Now Simon is changing his tune really based on the fall in his relationship with Fury. Before he was blinded by bias.

Once Wilder’s retired and the hype has gone, he’ll be seen as a paper champion who beat nobody of note
AJ fans are sh**tig on Wilder because he will destroy GayJay. If Wilder is a bum, why AJ is ducking him for 7 years. He is still crying about his back and wants more tune ups before Wilder retires him🤣
@Anonymous-bb8mg To still believe that at this point you have to be a simpleton. Or simply happy to go along with the lies. Wilder even admitted in a message on twitter to Fury. "You know I was offered more money to fight Joshua than I was getting to fight you".
Anthony Joshua has always been the biggest draw in Boxing in the last 8yrs. Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder built a career by using his name to build their profile. I made a video on this a little while back. Everything is now coming to the surface. Ben Whittaker is the next Anthony Joshua.
I think fury could have pulled large ppv numbers if he didn’t always talk nonsense people are just getting fed up with his lies and it reflects on his numbers really think its that simple
Fury has to eat humble pie now and that writer Rick Broadbent is right Fury legacy is destroyed forever and will never be taken seriously as a ATG that would have never happened to Lewis,Klitch,Ali etc.
The public told ye, fury announced the fight with usyk because the numbers were looking bad, but the public saw through furys bs and knew he would duck usyk regardless and didn't buy it. All the suppose experts told us it would definitely happen in December with usyk and like we said fury ducked usyk again
Obviously joshua has more pull than fury. AJ has a total of 22 million ppv buys sold whereas fury has only 4 million and has been boxing for longer than AJ
No one knows who AJ is in the United States! Hearn still can’t make the Wilder fight after 6 years of trying but Fury made made 3 fights with him in 2 minutes of trying
A whole lot of this makes sense when these guys from 2017 realize that Tyson Fury is NOT the number one heavyweight in their sport. He's really considered a semi-retired fighter. 2 years ago he looked terrible against Dillian Whyte and that was accused of being an Exhibition. since then he's only had a Sparing Demo against Chisora dubbed 'the least wanted bout on earth' even though it was just hard sparring demo. what is so surprisingly when he's not Usyk, hes not even Zhang or Joyce who actually fought other top 5 rivals. Its not 2016 anymore.
Deontay Wilders PPV numbers in the USA are far from impressive.. The biggest fight regarding ppv numbers would be AJ vs. Either Fury or Wilder. But looking at past numbers. AJ would carry the event and the numbers
Imagine doing this for a living, and in your first 4 minutes getting the facts wrong on something you're trying to have an intellectual conversation about.
I used to be a big Fury fan boy - His charisma, the press conferences, the way he came back from where he got to after Klitschko - AJ was the Matchroom/Sky manufactured, fake roadman - trying to sell himself as a role model.. The past 12 months I've come to the realisation I was wrong. Fury is crass, can give it but can't take it, classless, avoids everyone and has become very tedious. Out of the two give me AJ anyday.
In terms of 10 biggest UK boxing PPV Joshua has had 5 of the biggest (3 of which being the biggest)..Fury isn’t even in the list! 1 Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker - 1.832m 2 Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko - 1.631m 3 Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz 2 - 1.575m 4 David Haye vs Tony Bellew - 1.529m 5 Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin - 1.247m 6 Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 1.232m 7 Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye - 1.170m 8 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Ricky Hatton - 1.150m 9 Oleksandr Usyk vs. Dereck Chisora Sky Box Office - 1.059m 10 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor - 1m
Simon, you're on record as saying the Frank Warrens (your mate) feet would be held to the fire post Fury v Ngannou to provide a date for the unification fight - we're are you with that now. Taken a step back after the joke ppv figures and the fact Fury got a pasting? AJ has and aways will be more popular than Fury😉
Tyson is finished!.. Francis is the man of the moment and rightly so!.. tyson was a greedy showman!.. I think he will not come back from this, unless there is a MASSIVE Purse involved.. Uysk is the man I feel sorry for.
This is nothing to do with the platform and everything to do with Fury's mouth. We're all so fed up with Fury ducking fights and taking pay to win fights instead of boxing real opponents
I think the heavyweight division at the minute is as interesting as it’s ever been. Not the best ever but very very interesting. So many upsets and so many potential match ups. You’ve got Fury AJ Usyk Wilder Zhang Joyce Dubois Ruiz and may as well throw Ngannou in there too. So many contrasting styles and bloated fight records that it’s hard to pick winners
Aj is and still is way bigger than fury. Fury has never cracked a mill ppv 😅 Aj done 1.7 with vlad not even comparable. Even the Andy Ruiz fight done 600k at 5 am
Tyson isn’t in the same league as AJ as a draw. Tyson’s confirmed PPV buys total in 5 fights is 4.8 mil. If we believe the rumours, it’s sub 5 mil in 6 fights. For context, Usyk, who Tyson accuses of being unknown and irrelevant has made just shy of 4.5 mil in 4 fights. So Usyk average’s more per fight. Anthony Joshua has 14.6 million PPV buys. There are multiple AJ fights that have drawn around 1.5 million. AJ is an exponentially larger draw and it’s not close. If you take AJ’s three biggest buy rates, they eclipse Tyson’s disclosed career total. Fact is, Tyson gets a lot of attention, he grabs headlines and social media mentions, but people don’t pay to watch him fight.
if joshua fought ngannou it would have done massive numbers. its becasue fury talks a load of crap abot what hes doing, when hes doing it and ends up not doing any of it. Im not keen on fury or joshua but a lot of fans are sick of fury now
Because of the non fighting between the top HW fighters, I think people are losing interest. John and Tyson's behaviour is embarrassing and turns people off them. Fury is on the decline and usyk will beat him, I think fury usyk fight won't happen. They keep saying it's signed, but I have no trust in it.

Only you guys think Fury is the best HW in boxing 😂 everybody around the world think differently, now you see the outcomes and you guys are surprised really. When you fight good opponents the results will show. No wonder AJ remains the HW cash cow and also one of the best HW boxers of his ere.

Jordan is a turncoat. Fury doesn’t like him now, so he’s scrambling for a new side to hitch his subjective journalism to and fire back at Tyson. Those AJ PPV figures are not new; over the course of their careers AJ has outperformed Fury across PPV. Yet, over the last few years of his Fury brown-nosing and AJ bashing he conveniently forgot that. Or worse, missed the fact.
aj is just watchable and had a mission to get to the top and do the right things and fight the best, fury's fights are always sort of weird and seem scammy but both are great fighters on their day
I'm suprised with this being a youtube media channel they didnt take into consideration the build up and marketing in comparison. The build up to Mayweather vs Mcgregor was phenomenal, world tours, social media wipeouts it was hilarious. Fury vs Ngannu was non existent.
Ppl wanted to see floyd vs McGregor, as ter was beef with Conor fans thinking he was d best fighter in d world .. at that time Conor was on d up and floyd was retired, so som fools taught Conor had a chance. Floyd held no title and was not avoiding real challengers, so he could fight who he wanted. Ter wer numerous factors which made that fight big..here we hav fury, current world champion, who has numerous guys in line , zhang, aj, usyk, hergovic, Sanchez, bakole etc etc..he does not fight any off them in d last 3 years, and makes a fight against nganou.. fans are not stupid, we want to see big fights, not circus shows..if fury wanted circus shows, fine, just drop d title and maybe then we will be interested in clown shows, but right now his disrespecting fans and enriching himself..he is doing nothing for boxing fans .. not sure what ppl are fans of cos fury ain't Givin them anytin
No it was also a circus but both were hugely popular and in Mayweathers case was virtually retired and had given up his belts. Both events were about money and the ability to extract it from gullible fools.
People dont want the so called lineal champion and best boxer of this era doing stupid cross over fights we want to see him fighting for the undisputed and defending his belt against the top 10, and he has paid for it he got made to look stupid
No matter what opinions we hear and the recent PPV figures that has recently been released between TF and FN …. The intrigue in a rematch because of the split decision, figures would hit the roof ….?? And rightly so … FN won the fight, the time they gave for TF to recover, the elbow in the 6th round I believe, that should have been a point deducted….. TOTAL FIX …. IF TF thinks he’s the man, then PROVE IT ….. but of course TF has not fought AJ, USYK, HRGOVIC, ZHANG, not even Joe Joyce, just because Zhang was successful in both fights THAT does not prove anything …?? TF talks a good game WITHOUT PROVING IT ….. MOST protected HW in the division….
Huge fighter purses started with Mike Tyson. Making 20-40 million a fight. Purses like that are going to end with Tyson Fury. There is no one left to pay these boxers that kind of money besides the Saudi’s. After a few events like this, the Saudi’s won’t be interested anymore.
Honest answer What would the reaction be the reaction if that was aj vs ngannu and he scraped thru like fury did. I think nobody would look for excuses like an off day or under estimated. He would of got slaughtered and told to retire. Then with the ppv numbers on top!
We are only having this debate about who is the real cash cow because what Fury has done is close the gap from where he was before the Wilder fights till now, relative to AJ. However, AJ is still heads and tails above Fury because he captivates the casual audience!
Fury is still the real cash cow. He made 50 million from Ngannou fight, can earn 200 million from the undisputed. Joshua vs Helenius wasn't even a PPV fight😂
The difference between The Fury fight compared to The Mayweather one, is .. Ppl were tuning in to watch Mayweather lose ...not a lot of ppl thought Ngannou had a chance, so different expectations
Fury unfortunately chose the easier option in Francis instead of fighting Usyk, and then actually got beat up by a novice boxer. Tyson made a massive blunder there, hopefully he can dust himself off and come better next time. I really hope his not finished as it would be a shame to a great career
Simon 'I'm switching allegiances because Fury has banned me' Jordan. Lets have a sense of perspective to help things along. Joshua has just failed to sell out the 02, a small arena by his standards in his own city. He was scheduled to fight Dillian Whyte in the 02 arena, and at the point of the late replacement it still wasnt sold out. Fury vs whyte just under a year prior sold out wembley with a record crowd and couldve sold it out twice. My position in the queue for tickets on day one was over 160k. That fight was the highest grossing ppv of that year beating AJ vs Usyk, and whyte did zero promotion. Fury vs wilder 2 did 800k buys in the usa alone, when does wilder ever without fury get numbers even close to that? The other 2 fights in that trilogy did 600k and 700k in usa alone respectively. How many did aj vs ruiz do on AJs american debut? We also only ever get eddie hearns word for all AJs ppv numbers, it was matchroom not Sky that provided this detail. As for the fury vs ngannou numbers, lets see if the real figures get released, and more importantly the UK. Im not sure how reputable a wrestling journalist that is friends with Dana White is as a source for the american numbers either. But accepted an exhibition is a hard ppv sell. To suggest Fury vs Usyk for undisputed, the fight the whole world wants to see and has for a long time, wont be as big as aj vs wilder is as disingenuous as it is stupid. Aj vs wilder is massive yes, but theres only one fight that would potentially rival fury vs usyk and thats fury vs aj. I do accept fully that AJ is a big draw. Most of his fans are armchair fans not hardcore boxing fans so there's an explanation for why his ppv could be healthier than his recent ticket sales. They are a very fickle bunch and a lot stopped watching him as soon as he lost. But to suggest he's bigger than Fury in this day and age is simply silly, he was massive for a time while fury was out but that time has gone A final point, boxing on the sky platform is enormous compared to any other. Joshua hasnt come close to his old numbers since he left sky, fury fights on tnt sports, which is one channel out of 900 on sky. Put that into perspective in terms of platform. Unless you sit and watch tnt sports regularly you arent going to see fights advertised unless you're on youtube a lot
Love the show Simon & Spencer. Given the heavy weight division s still in a bit of a state of flux what division could replace it in 2024 as the one to look out for?
I’d say the Heavyweight division was soundly replaced by many other divisions this year already. For 2024 the Lightweight division still looks spicy if the right fights can be made. As for keeping an eye on living legends obviously Bud Crawford and Inoue are making history right now. Lots to look forward to while the HW crowd sort their sh*t out.
@@alexreid4131100% agree, the boxing community don’t care as much about heavyweights anymore it seems. I feel the heavyweights are an attraction to the broader casual public for big guys with big knockouts. The smaller weight classes are better skills, better fights and more fights especially.
@@mercuriusmc213 agreed. The HW division doesn’t have enough guys right now focused on making history.
He's always Been a dull spoil , grab n jab boxer in the ring.

Now, someone with sense
Spencers a yes man already saying yeah yeah before Simon has finished
Amusing that the people on here saying AJ isn’t a draw and is irrelevant are the same people who multiple times a day EVERYDAY for years now mention him in all their comments. Even on videos that have nothing to do with him! “There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.” ~ Oscar Wilde
It’s not even a debate, hence why Joshua’s name is mentioned every single day whilst holding no belts and being “out in the cold” aj always has and always will be a bigger draw than fury
Joshua Couldn't sell out the 02 his last two fights but at least his next fight is rumoured for Wembley

I agree. Tyson has talked himself out of a lot of fans through being an unpleasant person half the time.
Why are you afraid of the numbers being low? Isn't boxing a sport? If it is a legit sport, then Fury should fight Usyk. Or Fury should vacate so that Usyk has the chance at becoming undisputed.
@@selectivevisions Usyk couldn't sell out in Poland when the tickets were 11 euros

And Ortiz was 40+

Once fighters retire, it usually takes about 10 years for people to truly comprehend and look at a fighters career objectively. Lewis for instance wasn’t appreciated at all when he was fighting, but no you’ll find him on the majority of boxing fans top 5 heavyweights of all time.
Once Wilder’s retired and the hype has gone, he’ll be seen as a paper champion who beat nobody of note
Lets not forget, the doctor saving Wilder in the first Ortiz fight from certain defeat...
The next draw needs to be a HW. The casuals won't take to a smaller man like they would a HW

Fair play to Simon giving AJ some respect finally
I agree but also it is very hard with Simon not to think he now only has this opinion because he got banned from covering Fury.
What happened to the rest of the video,,???
Deontay Wilders PPV numbers in the USA are far from impressive.. The biggest fight regarding ppv numbers would be AJ vs. Either Fury or Wilder. But looking at past numbers. AJ would carry the event and the numbers
What are Joshua's PPV numbers in the USA?
Aj never sold 1 us PPV a day in his life & wilder has sold more us PPVs than any heavyweight in 20 years. Those are facts
Imagine doing this for a living, and in your first 4 minutes getting the facts wrong on something you're trying to have an intellectual conversation about.
Let's put it simply, AJ's as a profile sells better than Tyson Fury in the box office.
Either way will this information help me in the boxing gym tonight? No.

Did Simon just say Joshua-Helenius did a million buys? The fight wasn't even PPV.
Simon lies all the time
In terms of 10 biggest UK boxing PPV Joshua has had 5 of the biggest (3 of which being the biggest)..Fury isn’t even in the list!
1 Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker - 1.832m
2 Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko - 1.631m
3 Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz 2 - 1.575m
4 David Haye vs Tony Bellew - 1.529m
5 Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin - 1.247m
6 Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 1.232m
7 Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye - 1.170m
8 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Ricky Hatton - 1.150m
9 Oleksandr Usyk vs. Dereck Chisora Sky Box Office - 1.059m
10 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor - 1m
Aj-usyk 2 did 1.249 million ppv buys which takes 5th. Also puts usyk in the top 10 3 times yet hes only worth 30% according to fury

Usyk is the biggest heavyweight in our sport. Tyson the biggest on Talksport 😂

Jordan is a turncoat. Fury doesn’t like him now, so he’s scrambling for a new side to hitch his subjective journalism to and fire back at Tyson.

But to suggest he's bigger than Fury in this day and age is simply silly, he was massive for a time while fury was out but that time has gone
A final point, boxing on the sky platform is enormous compared to any other.
Lol so now Fury has banned Simon Jordan all of a sudden he has complaints for AJ, you cant make this stuff up 😅😂😂

Love the show Simon & Spencer. Given the heavy weight division s still in a bit of a state of flux what division could replace it in 2024 as the one to look out for?
Good question. Whatever weight Shakur Stevenson & Devin Haney meet at 🔥☄️
I’d say the Heavyweight division was soundly replaced by many other divisions this year already.
I’d love to know if Fury cares about legacy but you just never know with him and it’s that lackluster approach that has permeated the division right now I feel.
