Simon's ability to use fancy vocabulary while saying stupid things is remarkable. Of course, there was backlash. I know this for a fact because it was precisely why I refused to support it despite liking both Fury and Ngannou. Yes, AJ is a bigger draw because people can't imagine AJ fighting a debutant or beating up Charles Martin for a third time instead of fighting Usyk. Opponents matter. Respect shown to the sport and the fans matter.

So just so you know Eddie wanted the Ng fight, they claimed they refused to chase world titles only to refuse a world title fight.
Eddie is yet again wanting Ng as Joshys next fight.
Eddie is a walking contradiction who desperately wanted Joshy to fight Ng earlier this year. A debutant.

@Andrew-is7rs after he damaged fury, his no longer a debutant mate.. fury has turned novice nganou into a world beater.. it's clear u ain't a businessman, if u wer, u would know why hearn would now consider d nganou fight.. unlike fury, aj in not holding up an entire division fighting in circus shows..aj is not a champion, he can fight who he likes... but rather fury behaves lik a selfish pric, avoiding real boxers n fighting in circus show while he holds and diminishes d world title.. if u don't see d difference, tak ur head our furys ahol

@@Andrew-is7rsYou’re making their point by trying to say something against them. Yes, Eddie took the fight to AJ, but he refused because he thought it will be a money grab fight and decided he instead wanted to chase a world title route. Fury has a ‘cheapening’ effect. Look at his language, his suits, his budget energy drink. He is a spoiler and his effect on the division and the sport as the most vocal heavyweight champion is similar. He recognised how the WBC let Wilder move with minimal mandatories and soft touches, wanted some of that, and since he has had the strap has continued in the same vain. Neither have been good for the division with their weak resumes and reluctance to be consistently active and to get in with the majority of the other personnel in the division.

Fury’s PPV numbers have always been low apart from the wilder 2 fight and even then the promoters struggled to break even because of their layout towards the event as a whole. Whether you like AJ or not, organically he drove numbers and money to this sport, I know he’s fallen off a bit lately after his losses to Usyk and tame comeback but if he fights wilder it will be a block buster, and if he beats wilder and fights fury after the numbers will go through the roof even further. The reality is, fury has made a lot of money off the back of AJ’s stardom, but Fury’s promoters/broadcasters haven’t seen much in terms of a profit from him.

In an analysis of the percieved top 4 isn't it amazing how Joshua, Fury, and Usyk can be said to be in decline or off form. Nothing about Wilder. He gets a gimme because he the best to choose from in the US. If he was any other nationality he'd already be in everyones rear view mirror. Wilder is the luckiest man in Boxing! He has one good win on his resume in Ortiz. He has won just one fight since 2019, and flipped his lid with crazy accusations, bitterness, and delusion after Fury fight ever since. Yet sits on his couch waiting for pay day. Simon doesnt mention loss of form, not being on the slide, or him being mentally weak or lost it unlike all the other fighters being drawn into question. Basically Simon is part of a group of people who got swindled by the big lie put in place to turn Wilder into a big PPV star. So all connected (includimg media) could benefit from trickle down. A plan firstly dragging Joshuas name through the mud (because at that time Joshua was the only show in town) and then beating Fury. Nothing on paper added up to Wilder and Fury being no1 and 2 and a fight would determine who was best in the World. Marketing filled the massive holes in the tale, and that is what was sold over the 3 fights. Based on nothing other than words some even had it Wilder, Fury, and then Ortiz top 3 for a time around the first fight?!?! Then Fury scuppered the party. He wasn't as bad as expected after time out the ring and won. So Fury signed with American base Toprank and the media were happy to insert Furys name where they wanted Wilders to be. Now Simon is changing his tune really based on the fall in his relationship with Fury. Before he was blinded by bias.

He's really considered a semi-retired fighter. 2 years ago he looked terrible against Dillian Whyte and that was accused of being an Exhibition. since then he's only had a Sparing Demo against Chisora dubbed 'the least wanted bout on earth' even though it was just hard sparring demo. what is so surprisingly when he's not Usyk, hes not even Zhang or Joyce who actually fought other top 5 rivals.

Tyson isn’t in the same league as AJ as a draw. Tyson’s confirmed PPV buys total in 5 fights is 4.8 mil. If we believe the rumours, it’s sub 5 mil in 6 fights.
For context, Usyk, who Tyson accuses of being unknown and irrelevant has made just shy of 4.5 mil in 4 fights. So Usyk average’s more per fight.
Anthony Joshua has 14.6 million PPV buys. There are multiple AJ fights that have drawn around 1.5 million.
AJ is an exponentially larger draw and it’s not close. If you take AJ’s three biggest buy rates, they eclipse Tyson’s disclosed career total.
Fact is, Tyson gets a lot of attention, he grabs headlines and social media mentions, but people don’t pay to watch him fight.

And rightly so … FN won the fight, the time they gave for TF to recover, the elbow in the 6th round I believe, that should have been a point deducted….. TOTAL FIX …. IF TF thinks he’s the man, then PROVE IT ….. but of course TF has not fought AJ, USYK, HRGOVIC, ZHANG, not even Joe Joyce, just because Zhang was successful in both fights THAT does not prove anything …?? Simon 'I'm switching allegiances because Fury has banned me' Jordan.
Lets have a sense of perspective to help things along.
Joshua has just failed to sell out the 02, a small arena by his standards in his own city.
He was scheduled to fight Dillian Whyte in the 02 arena, and at the point of the late replacement it still wasnt sold out.
Fury vs whyte just under a year prior sold out wembley with a record crowd and couldve sold it out twice. My position in the queue for tickets on day one was over 160k. That fight was the highest grossing ppv of that year beating AJ vs Usyk, and whyte did zero promotion.
Fury vs wilder 2 did 800k buys in the usa alone, when does wilder ever without fury get numbers even close to that?
The other 2 fights in that trilogy did 600k and 700k in usa alone respectively. How many did aj vs ruiz do on AJs american debut?
We also only ever get eddie hearns word for all AJs ppv numbers, it was matchroom not Sky that provided this detail.
As for the fury vs ngannou numbers, lets see if the real figures get released, and more importantly the UK. Im not sure how reputable a wrestling journalist that is friends with Dana White is as a source for the american numbers either. But accepted an exhibition is a hard ppv sell.
To suggest Fury vs Usyk for undisputed, the fight the whole world wants to see and has for a long time, wont be as big as aj vs wilder is as disingenuous as it is stupid. Aj vs wilder is massive yes, but theres only one fight that would potentially rival fury vs usyk and thats fury vs aj.
I do accept fully that AJ is a big draw. Most of his fans are armchair fans not hardcore boxing fans so there's an explanation for why his ppv could be healthier than his recent ticket sales. They are a very fickle bunch and a lot stopped watching him as soon as he lost. But to suggest he's bigger than Fury in this day and age is simply silly, he was massive for a time while fury was out but that time has gone
A final point, boxing on the sky platform is enormous compared to any other. Joshua hasnt come close to his old numbers since he left sky, fury fights on tnt sports, which is one channel out of 900 on sky. Put that into perspective in terms of platform. Unless you sit and watch tnt sports regularly you arent going to see fights advertised unless you're on youtube a lot
