- Monster Mansion (Arrow Development: Mill Chute) water-based dark ride at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia, USA.
Opening Date: 1981 (as Monster Plantation) 2009 (as Monster Mansion)
Uses the building that housed "Tales of the Okefenokee" (1967-1980)
There’s a party over at Monster Mansion and everyone is invited! Usually this is a VIP-only event for the wildest and weirdest of monsters, but this time, humans can come too.
Come inside for a darkly delectable boat ride through a whole mansion’s worth of magical monstrosity! The 25,000 square foot spooktacular has been a Six Flags Over Georgia favorite for generations. But now this residence has been beautifully restored and redesigned for a whole new crew of monster-lovers.
You’ll find state-of-the-art lighting and sound to chill you and thrill you. But the real stars of the show are the 107 living, breathing monsters. Every single creature has personality and a story, not to mention spectacular fur!
Climb in your boat and drift into the flooded mansion, if you dare! Every “body” is getting ready for the picnic, but hopefully those tasty humans won’t be the main course. You’ll float through the bog where dementedly devious creatures are crawling around every corner and even flying through the air! It’s an entire world of extremely colorful and creative beasts, with faces you’ll never forget. At the monster reunion, all the funny furry ones have come out to play. Whether tiny or giant, these monsters are having the time of their lives.
A spirit made of smoke beckons you deeper! But don’t go in the marsh-it’s dark and scary in there! Fiery red eyes watch you from the dark, and you don’t even want to know who’s looking. It’s the wildest picnic party in town!

I miss the old ride called monster plantation
@Maddox2021 - Comedy and More Alternate lol
@@DaddyWolf35me too lol
@maddox121I'm not 😂
I actually like all those changes, but I'm trying to say anything bad about the attraction, it's just I'm actually not happy with the ending, they still need to change the ending, I mean I get all of cutesy parts and scary parts, it does make it cinematic, which I don't mind, because it's a PG ride, it's just the ending just doesn't work, straight up doesn't work, it's basically a giant scary monster head that obviously eats the guest on ride alive, soon to be digested, which is what will happen to someone if they're eaten alive in movies and tv, it's also got demonic red eyes and razor sharp teeth, that look like ginzu knives and a scary ass noise, and it's way too intense and unexpected for such a chill family friendly ride, it's kinda out of place, think of all the nightmares it gave children, I'm satisfied with all the changes they've made, but I'm still not happy with the ending, the ending is still quite intense and scary, they really, really need to change that so the tone of the ride will be consistent, it needs a better ending, something happy, and cheerful, a literal happily ever after, so kids and families will feel safe and have fun, and be less worried, instead having an ending that's unexpected when the kids and their families let guards down, basically an unexpected jump scare, which is something more appropriate for something in Fright Fest rather than a family friendly attraction like this, so kids can be happy and heartwarmed, not traumatized and having nightmares for all eternity, and parents won't be upset, it won't result in a pr nightmare for the park, it needs to be done, and it's a change for the better, because it's the right thing, I hope you guys, and everyone else in the comments agrees with me, I am such a good person.
i'm glad they keep up with refurbishing this ride every once in a while rather than replacing it-- it's such a cool and unique ride with great character designs! i love all the different gags going on during the big monster party segment
I love the new signs outside of the Monster Marsh. The conclusion of the ride makes so much more sense with it.
I like this ride!
Oh no you darn fools, STAY out of the marsh😂
Glad you guys are still making videos, I always come check them out when I’m interested in a ride I’ll never be able to see. I’m a big baby about rollercoasters and can’t travel to/afford amusement parks. I appreciate getting to ride along with you guys :]
What happened to the sheriff at the end that says “Well ya finally made it safe and sound! Don’t you humans ever listen?!” They took out so much good stuff 😭😭😭
I never really liked the 2009 revamp, it's really sad the original 1981-2008 reel was destroyed, i hope they revamp the audio again to be faithful to the original version of the ride
I remember this ride from when I was 6 or 7 years old. I’m 25 now and the memory comes back some times. I remember how terrifying it was and I had night mares for weeks and for some reason i believed hands were coming out of the water to grab my feet and one point 😅
Wow terrifying!
I'm 63 years old and this is my favorite ride of all.
I've been going to Six Flags ever since I was a toddler and to this day I still wonder what the giant tunnel monster says at the end 😂
the monster at the end is called the Boat Eater, and he doesn't say anything, he just sneezes for some reason
Used to ride this and everything every summer with my buddies, around 2008, man great memories, im 32 now, living in the sunshine state.
I've never been to the USA, and this channel's a great way to explore the USA
Finally, a sharp productions video that’s been 10 years in the making
(I miss you guys)
More stuff is on the way, we are going to a few ride openings soon!
This reminds me of the Monsters Inc. ride at Disney but its in water 😅
This ride has haunted me since I was a kid and I love it but hate it to this day
Cute. The theming seems kind of haphazard and incohesive but cute. Wouldn't mind riding it at least once in my lifetime.
So glad to see that theyre fixing up this ride!!
Very colorful. I enjoyed it. Thank you.
MUCHAS GRACIAS
This is the ride Low is scared of 😂😂
Amazing !!
I rode this as a child. I loved it so much. Ah nostalgia.
Awesome ❤ it's been forever since been at there
Well done
I being on that ride before me Felicia and Eldest sister Nicole I was 6 years old on this ride
Never been on it. Can't wait. Looks scary.
this was my first ever water ride as a kid and terrified me. ive now been to universal flordia and rode the jurassic park water ride and let’s say i got over my fears fast. i did that ride 3 times in one day!
Awesome!!!!
Monster mansion is my favorite ride
I loved this ride when I lived there.
The first Time I ever went to six flags over Georgia. I was 4 years old. This used to be an original ride called the Okefenokee Swamp ride. It scared me to death! Then it was switched to this but it was called Monster Plantation.
Bro, I'm still scared of this ride, and I'm 15!!!
I heard the Mansion got a refresh, but I don’t notice anything different.
The entire first room has been redone completely, mizzy scarlett has an all new outfit, the lighting is enhanced overall, they now just play the band music in the finale room instead of the main theme, other monsters like marshal billy bob fritter got updated outfits, some new scenery, etc
@@TackyFlamingothey still play the theme in the finale band
@@ChuckE.CheesesIllinois yes, it’s the band music that’s also played in the beginning of the ride, however it used to play the actual theme song with lyrics before the refurb
The first time Monster mansion
I went on this ride 2 days ago with my grandparents and cried because I got scared of the animatronics (and because the boats got stuck at the end)
If they made more rides like this and less coasters, I think this park would be amazing.
Looks better than some Disney rides 🤣
Like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
Good one@@elizabethboyle-contreras9668
Shouldn’t have gone in the marsh
Changes still coming, even this video is out of date now.
Oooh really? Whats in the works?
This is where Splash Mountain got inspired by.
NO! NO YOU DAMN FOOLS! THIS WAY! STAY OUT OF THE MARSH! STAY OUT OF THE MARSH! OH NO!! 3:13
We never listen! Lol
What a fun bunch of monsters! 👹
What in the doctor Seuss did I just watch?
Splash Mountain . . . . without the splash, or the mountain.
Anyone else not a huge fan of the audio reworks? the marsh feels a less spooky now and a bit too dark, I could see the building's ceiling when riding it recently :(
Hey sharp,
You say “interactive features” in the update list but uhh… what is interactive features here? I was on the ride yesterday and it’s a lot of fun but I wouldn’t class anything as “interactive”
Was this filmed in 1942?
Does ANYONE out there remember the Six Flags commercial without Mr. Six. It was the one with a different theme song that has certain lyrics. I can't remember all of them. But the words to it I CAN recall are as follows: "Six Flags, Six Flags, Come And Join Us. Six Flags, Six Flags, Come And Join Us. ? And Laughing, And Ice Cream Cones. Laughing When You're Small, Smiling When You're Grown. Six Flags, Six Flags, ..." At least I believe those lyrics are correct. I just know how I've heard them sung before, and, I can recall the tune so very vividly. It sounds NOTHING like the Mr. Six commercials, though. I hope someone can help me find this commercial theme song. Thanks in advance. 😉
Oh, the Monster PLANTATION. My favorite ride at Six Flags! 🙂🙂🙂
it’s different the it’s a small world at Disneyland in California
What the hell did they do to scarlett? And what is that screen?!
She got a new outfit
first glance i thought it was a chris brown indigo concert lmao
THIS IS SIX FALGS !?
I know, definitely too unique for Six Flags to build today.
Thank goodness they haven't trashed and it and replaced it with another generic shooting dark ride
2:26 @HauntedAttractionNetwork Hey Philip, my friend wants to know if you’re single.
Was this filmed in 1789?
This used to give me nightmares
I don't mean to criticize this ride, I'm saying it's bad, I don't hate it, they kinda did a good job at everything in the ride and all, but they need to change the ending, the rest of the ride is like cinematic and all, definitely PG, it's just I don't like the ending, in fact I hate it, it's out of tone with the rest of the ride, the ride is supposed to be family friendly and all, but the ending is just way too scary and unexpected, they really, really need to change it, so it'll be less scary, and more innocent, to keep up with the family friendly tone and vibe, this is why I don't like the calico candy mine at Knotts Scary Farm, because of the fact that it cute and innocent in the day, but scary, twisted, sick and disturbing at night, it actually scared even though I'm a grown man and I even had a nightmare about, I maybe 26, and I can be too old for a lot of things, but no ones too old to be afraid of something, I'm still scared of spiders and heights, it was just too disturbing, and I do not want this nice attraction to go down that other attractions level dude, if they're changing stuff, they still need a better ending, instead of that ending, which is basically an unexpected jump scare, like something out of the haunted houses and mazes at fright fest, they should add a happy ending, something more bright and cheery, a literal happily ever after, something more fitting for the tone for the rest of the ride, so kids and families will definitely feel safe and have fun and stuff, not be scared shitless at the end when they least expected it, possibly traumatizing them, just what happened at the calico candy mine, that would be something novel, since the ride is family friendly and all, even though it's not exactly Disney, I hope someone here in the comments agrees with me.
No you're just being a big fat scaredy cat It perfectly goes with the ride... They're not going to change it just because you're too scared too ride it...
@@sinistersalem1983 they have too, the ending is too dark and scary and out of place compared to the rest of the ride, it would be a whole lot better if it had a story and that are more consistent, just like the original Goosebumps books and the 90s Goosebumps TV show on Fox Kids, balancing humor and horror, along with a happy ending, (but only in some episodes, other episodes have twist endings or scary endings, because it's Goosebumps), and it's also because the ride is supposed to be family friendly, quite different from what you get from Fright Fest you know.
Woke ruined this too.
Used to be a great ride.
what did woke do
that's a word folks like to use when they have nothing constructive to add to a conversation, same thing with cringe@@kasewiesel
@@shadowdivided no i know what woke means, i’m just confused on why this ride is woke now?

Great ride to cool off in the hot Georgia summer.
