Weird how SO many years after this release, its message is EVERMORE clear in these days. We live in a sad world where people are GLUED to themselves and/or their devices
Here I am in 2018, 25 years after its release, wondering if I’m the only person in the US at this moment singing this song out of the blue and scrambling to RUclips to hear it once again
Finally saw you guys in concert 7 days ago. It was at the Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia. I was one of the audience members who helped with Tim’s crowd surfing.
So when is this silly calendar thing going to stop? This has gone as bad as the Coronavirus. We are all listening this during this lockdown, a lot of people are here during this 2020 for obvious reasons! What's next: the "nobody..." comment or the "hold my beer" joke?
A better question is where are y’all from? I didn’t know any James fans growing up in Kansas. I had friends in the UK but they’re weren’t big into this band
Cuando has entregado todo, y de repente todo cambia, y no sabes que pasa porque todo es silencio, no puedes hacer nada, lo único que te queda es esta canción.
give me a fucking break. so you were suicidal and this song helped you . BS. Even music cant stop the suicidal. When you really want to do you cease listening to music. Take wisdom when you hear it. Stop spewing bs
@@tarawillis3995 Glad the random RUclips psychologist cleared that right up... even more glad that we're all different & react differently. Most glad that spyyder976 stuck around :)
My god! Why doesn't RUclips recommend this like it does with all those overplayed songs?! It's so beautiful it gave me goosebumps the second it started.

Literally been 15 years since the last time I listened to this song, idk why I remembered it today, I just started humming it out of nowhere and came here to listen to it.
Geez, i have always loved this song. Last year around November 2020, i Reconnected to a men who is and will always be special too me. When we reconnected he will randomly send me this song to listen too. One morning after spending the night with him listening to him. I drove him to his car and we jammed out to this song. Everytime i listen to it he is in my mind. I miss you my J.
Sometimes being underrated makes the music that much better. And then to put it on for someone who has never even heard of James. Let alone the song and watch their reaction to it. Priceless
The uniqueness in James is based on the fact that they were meant to be one of the greatest bands ever. Tim Booth has an absolutely extraordinary voice which take you beyond the experience of being listening a simple melody. James is a gift to every human being on earth. Thanks JP for bringing me the best memory of my life, that is having James in my personal music collection. I will always love JAMES (The Band).
When I think about how good this band were, yet they weren't massively on my radar at age 15 in 1993. Unfortunately for these guys and other mid 90s bands, Oasis came along and blew everyone out the water. Saying that, as an older person now, I can't stop listening to them. Great band.
Timeless, like all their songs....main stream at points but mostly under-rated in every way....Plus it reminds me off Edinburgh 1997 new year, wasted and lost!!! ha braw.....good times
Saw them last year in Salt Lake City, They where not the main act, but to me they were. I only stayed to watch them, mainly because I was starting to get sick, but it was worth it. Currently this song sum up the state of my relationship with my son who is dealing with a lot of issue and depression since being out of high school and is trying to figure out his life.
I saw James circa '93 at Toad's Place, New Haven, Ct. Amazing! I still listen to this CD today which has some great songs on it. "Say Something" & "Laid" were both equally played & popular where I went to college. I love both songs, but this one's still my favorite to this day.
Here december 2024!!
Peace and harmony to the World!!. 🙏🏼✨🩵🌸
Love this band 😍

Such an underrated & underplayed song. It’s amazing with such an important message.

So very true 🥰
Agree they where unfortunate to be out in the madchester era.. So many great bands at the time.. Great era for music tho
Not by those of us who "know" 😊

Glad you had the chance to see James, such wonderful music and great lyrics
that was such a great show!

Tune will never get old song for every generation
A song actually saying something. How refreshing. While there are good songs out there, we could use more artistry like this today in music.
I catch myself singing this
more than. Once a week
Keep singing,keep singing,every week
Regardless who's listening,..tonight
Something about James always hits me dead center, deep in the pit of my stomach. Every time.
Anyone listening to this in lockdown
I listen this song regularly.... safely in my personal alltimes top 10 songs
So when is this silly calendar thing going to stop? This has gone as bad as the Coronavirus. We are all listening this during this lockdown, a lot of people are here during this 2020 for obvious reasons!
What's next: the "nobody..." comment or the "hold my beer" joke?
I hate this comment and I hate the small minded people who make it.
A better question is where are y’all from? I didn’t know any James fans growing up in Kansas. I had friends in the UK but they’re weren’t big into this band

one of the best songs ever written.....i can never just listen to it once, have to replay half a dozen times before i move onto another song.
You're as tight as a hunter's trap
Hidden well, what are you concealing
Poker face, carved in stone
Amongst friends, but all alone
Why do you hide
Say something, say something, anything
I've shown you everything
Give me a sign
Say something, say something, anything
Your silence is deafening
Pay me in kind
Take a drug to set you free
Strange fruit from a forbidden tree
You've got to come down soon
More than a drug is what I need
Need a change of scenery
Need a new life
Say something, say something anything
I've shown you everything
Give me a sign
Say something, say something, anything
Your silence is deafening
Pay me in kind
Say something
I'm open wide, open wondering
Have you swallowed everything
Pay me in kind
+Breno Moreno good words. What I like(d) about James is the confessional lyrics and conveyance without sarcasm/cynicism, just honesty.
ok!!!!
