CFB25 as we are all well aware is made by EA. EA has a terrible track record when it comes to making a football since they've had the exclusive rights. A number of gamers/sports gamers act as if, EA will finally do the right thing and create a top notch college football based off of the success off of a game they made 10 years ago. EA annually screws sports gamers with a dried stick and the suckers continue to dole out $59-$99 for a "roster update", new equipment, suspect celebrations and possibly new uniforms. If, Maximum Football is released within the same month as CFB25 and its a SOLID game, it can still do well. I have ZERO confidence in EA doing the right thing. Enjoy your day.

I think when this game gets more years under it's belt, we will have something TRULY inspiring, where the market place will be by then, who knows. Game developing takes a LONG time. Madden again has 30+ years of coding, production, experience not to mention EA's budget, and the man power. I say if Max FB delivers something comparable to even Madden is a W. Lets hope its not too much like Madden, that would have me worried.

@@smithworld4life It absolutely will not be better than Madden anytime soon. Madden is a bad game, but Maximum Football is still many years away from competing with Madden. They're developing on two different levels of scale. Comparisons are not even reasonable yet.
@Gedden Madden has actually been in development now for 42 years (began in 1982). That should mean it's the most advanced game on the market, but as we know, it's far from it.

My opinion, that game is about 6-7yrs behind in technology and graphics. That's not it.
Even in their highlight reel, you see the wide receivers continually smoking the DBs. This is an old legacy issue where if your receiver has any speed at all, they are always open and they cook the DBs.
It's odd that all the highlights are those deep passes. The issue was the never have a WR shorten his side enough to impact speed on a catch.
@@RyanMoody21 Or that changing direction on a route does slow you down. I don't care how great you are, if you are running full speed ahead and make a cut in any direction, it slows you down. But this used to happen in Maximum on fly routes. The DBs just can't cover.

it just needs to be fun and customizable.
The animation / transition smoothness leaves a lot to be desired. And some of the animation speeds are too fast and it feels arcadey.
I have been a tester for this game on numerous occasions and the majority of the issues I had with the first test are still completely unresolved. I am not even sure what is going on behind the scenes month after month because the updates they put in aren't focusing on the core issues which is the gameplay. I certainly hope they prove me wrong but I said they had a very long road before being able to release a product that meets most of what people want in a simulation football game about 6 months ago and I think they have an even longer road in front of them at this point.
I went to school for video game design. What we’ve been searching for isn’t as easy as the videos that are made to be asked for. It’s a tug of war. Most games that are “physics based” tend to not be dependent on that. Sim games are thus people don’t realize you can never simulate real life scenarios in fixed conditions like a video game. Even nba 2k that has thousands of animations that are locked to different modes, have sliders that hide or unlock different animations because it cannot dictate all situations in a game mode.
5:50 Honestly i Love Backbreaker for the Simple fact of Rag Doll physics. Like it seems that Tackle is just an Animation rather than a Ballcarrier putting his Shoulder down and the Tackle becomes however the position and placement of the 2 Bodies.

Backbreaker is the greatest football game made in the last 15 years hands down. It’s not perfect but they got so many things right. I still play it. I wish the community was bigger though
Looks like their plan is to just try to sell this engine to EA and let them finish it. That's my guess.

@@masternas45 it’s running on Unreal engine. They don’t have anything that another company couldn’t get for themselves without paying for it. The logic in the game code is broken, as it’s built mostly on the game code from the original Maximum games. Still having the same problems as Maximum was having for their last 3 console releases. The only way to make a better game would be to completely start over from scratch. A lot of people have tried their very best to make this game into the best football sim it can, but it’s just not enough. Unless a huge studio like 2K, Activision, Konami, or Sony San Diego take over, the game will never get fixed.
The fact they haven’t released it yet, almost 2 full years after the initial teased release date tells you all you need to know about the state of the game. It’s been in development hell for quite a while now.
Physics based tackling is cool but not when it makes it look like the ball carrier is defenseless for every tackle

I heard about this game when i was in the 5th grade. I'm retired now.
People need to stop. It takes 2 years for a complete build. They are on schedule. That bomb looked very nice at the end and the separation from the corner. All that matters is the physics and accurate stats. I've seen enough eye candy from Madden for 2 lifetimes.

They bought the rights to a game on a pre existing engine and platform. In two years it seems like we have gotten world and player model improvements.
@@RyanMoody21 i pay out of the park baseball for years, don't need dance moves, need physics and accurate gameplay and career stats. go research sierra sports football pro 99. they had 96-98 builds in place and they tried to build on top of them in one year and it was a train wreck. the developers even said they should have had 2 years. i'm going by the developers and finishing up my 4th degree in engineering. 1.0 will be a bit buggy. 2025 will be a more polished game so i'm not looking for a game changer year 1 out of the box.
The same ones down talking this game will be the same one's who's going to say great things later on . Maximum doesn't care about certain RUclips channels trust me 😂 that's the last thing they are concerned about but they listen to the community as a whole. To me Maximum looks like a much better upgrade to APF2K8 which was much better than any MADDEN.

Ryan, I’ve been following you for a few years now and I would have never even know about maximum or axis football. I understand in theory where u are coming from, but I think you might be a little too harsh with your comments. It’s not like EA making promises and cutting a pasting or bringing back old features and calling it new. I just think we need to give this game some leeway and a chance and not crush it b4 it even comes out. Many people take your advice and consider your opinions, and I just hope people don’t get a negative opinion about the game and don’t give it a chance. If it flops and is terrible, I’ll b the first to say it. I’m pulling for them cos I’m tired of Madden, I haven’t played a football game in 10 yrs.

Their window for success is already closed. For this game to be a success it needed to be fully released months before EACFB 25. We are now less than a month away for the full reveal of CFB 25 and the full release is already less than 4 months away.

For me even though CB25 is coming out, I believe I’ll still get maximum football and get maximum football as a back up just in case CB 25 is expensive or just not very good. So I’ll probably get both games and decide which one is better.
A couple of things I can say about maximum football. I don't see suction cup blocks or suction cup tackles. Wait a minute air tackles and players doing rolls over another players during a play or after.
It's amazing how a game can miss a window by a very long time. How did anyone at Maximum Football think it would be ready last year?

EA college football 10-14 hit a grand slam with the Teambuilder program. Hope Maximum puts a Teambuilder team sharing aspect, which they say they will. Anything but Madden!
I was so hyped for this game. I was gonna make my own pro league and everything. Just very bummed that there is not even a set release date or anything yet. Remember this was supposed to come out over a year ago now.

My take, the window isn’t as important as the product that’s put out. Madden could be doing this same thing trying to rebuild the game properly. As long as the game has enough supporting options to users to tailor the game how they would like. That’s the biggest thing. Because putting out a sorry product in the “right window doesn’t ensure the window stays open after initial release. But if maximum is playing longevity than a better product equals more future windows
If anything I appreciate them taking the time to update us and them actually making sure their game is playable. Yes they've told us for 2 years but it would be better to play a complete football vs madden where they jus throw bulljive out each and every year

They should have just released the game and improved on the fly. As a consumer I’m understanding that this is their first effort they don’t have to be perfect the first time around. If we play it we can point out the errors and mistakes that they can fix in sub games. Just release the flipping game!!!!
That’s very true, then on the flip side there’s the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection that was a major launch disaster. I bought the game a week after release but didn’t even touch it until Update 1 happened (I haven’t messed with multiplayer yet on either one but both games are pretty solid) so they’ll have to make sure Maximum Football doesn’t get as messed up as that or Madden in terms of bugs and glitches.

Yeah especially cause the game is supposed to be free, very few people would complain about an early access free game. Now we have this upcoming game that was delayed 2 times and no one believes what they say anymore.
Even if the game is perfect which i dont think will be the case, theyre a year or two too late to be a real threat in the market with cfb25 coming out in a few months

People clearly have no appreciation for how hard game development and logic programming really is. There's indie devs who spend 2-4 years building a top down 2D shooter, and we're expecting a small studio to replicate human interactions in the context of a sports game with full physics and an AI with a deep understanding of xs and os, leverage, concepts, etc
This sort of nit picking of a title that hasn't even hit early access yet is pretty ridiculous.
Name another product that doesn't oversell itself in it's marketing. The exasperation over such a common practice across the entire industry and the larger economy as a whole is old and tired.

If it is truly physics based and not full of animations then it’s going in the right direction. It really is difficult to model real life physics of football. Especially when they don’t have a team as big as EA. EA should be doing more to good towards more physics based football

Calling that a physics-based engine is beyond generous. There’s players being sucked into animations left and right.
What I got out of this was a trailer grossly overselling what my eyes were actually seeing.
Take a guess what company is infamously known for doing exactly that.
I love seeing these other projects i love the potential BUT .. i just cant comprehend how multiple companies in the 90s and early 2000s were able to create up to par Madden competitors that were all equally viable when it came to gameplay , animation & motion capture , features , 20 years renoved it just seems impossible, extremely unlikely we ever get a game as polished as madden EVEN though madden is extremely unpolished , repetitive and neglected at this point , truly mind boggling
I’m still waiting on Maximum Football but I am concerned about what Ryan pointed out. Hopefully the developers can get things straightened out.
Its feel like this game been coming for awhile. Just updates after update and still no game. I only remember this because of ryan other then that i would completely forget. But hopefully this game is good. I rather them take there time then just shot out BS so i won't complain lol.
Keep in mind these updates got tucked into a investor presentation and seemingly nowhere else.

I think EA has msde you a little bit jaded on football games now. I think this game needs to be given a chance to grow. Its 10000x smaller than what EA has at their disposal and if it can out up something thats even a fraction of what EA does, thsts a solid start. Then you hope to see it build on to the next one. They will need community playing and feedback to grow in a way the community wants. That takes time, we gsve too much time to EA and noe are giving not enough time to smaller markets

Maybe the reason we dont see big jumps in terms of the visual aspects is because they're focusing on more important features. Features such as a deep and rewarding Franchise and Season modes, complete customization of teams and perhaps stadiums, stable network connections to integrate easier multi-player options. Its the exact same reason why the new College Football game took so long.
I appreciate the fairness of critiquing this game in a similar way to Madden, but I also think it's a little unfair to judge the game this harshly when it's being made nearly from the ground up, is not released to the public yet, and doesn't have even close to the budget of EA. I'm positive this game will have flaws, absolutely. I'd honestly be surprised if it's playable on launch day and not way too one-sided on offense or defense. But it's also important to take into account the message a video like this sends to people. The game deserves critique like any other, but it doesn't deserve to get torn up like a triple A game before release.
Gotta lift smaller devs up if the goal is to force EA to change, or vocalize the risk losing the gaming market to another developer.
They bought the rights to the game on September 1, 2021 and most likely started working on it not too long after. It's coming up on 3 years and no word on when this game is coming out. If this game doesn't come out until after the new EA Sports College Football it will be a bust. In February 2021 EA announced that the College Football series would return, giving them over 3 years of work on this game. I'm sure this $34 billion dollar company, EA Sports, has seen what Maximum Football is putting in their game and they are probably going to be putting in the same things. The window is closing fast for Maximum Football, so they better get this game out soon.
Ryan usually speaks truth. This video, I have to disagree with the majority of it.
We can’t expect this game to be like Madden, with their ad resources and years of development.
There will be some elements that are far superior, and some that will be worse than madden.
What’s exhausting is waiting for the game.
The gameplay won’t be perfect. The logic won’t be perfect. But I believe it will still be a fresh and fun next gen football experience we have been waiting for since 2012.
We can hope that they take this game, release it, and then give us a dlc, or update, or even sequel to add on in the next couple of years. (This is something I wish madden did.) (For example releasing a game in 2024, come out with a roster update and dlc in 2025, and then release a whole new game in 2026.)
Anyways, cannot wait for this one still! Very optimistic!
I have to disagree. Maximum came out and touted what they wanted to accomplish. I see some improvements since early last year, but it seems like they have a long, long way to go to get to where they promised.
This is a AAA title in many aspects. They just got Marvel rights.

I kind of believe at this point this is a small market game with big expectations, but all the delays Everly hurt this product… With EA sports college football coming out in a few months of course Madden 2025 coming out, I think maximum football missed their window of opportunity, free or not

Especially with CFB25 weeks away the void will be filled even if EA drop the ball with CFB25 it wont mater what they've shown the delays and this gaas technic they are going for isnt enough they needed to come with something original and fun, visually and along with new mechanics. i hope they pull through and succeed honestly the sports genre needs it. How are the best football videogames ever made 2 decades old now? To all devs making football games, im sorry but i have 0 sympathy for the issues that may be plaguing your game. In the early 2000s, on consoles with a fraction of the power as our cell phones, they made far superior games. There is quite literally no excuse why modern games are worse. More powerful tech, decades of knowledge on how to do it right, and here we are still playing madden 16 with a 24 slapped on it. Jesis christ will somebody out there just do the damn job right already?
There are some positive building blocks here, but I still have a bit of concern for this game. This is probably a great tech demo type game with potential to grow beyond that, but it'll take a long time to get to that potential.
