I am happy to see u back in the shop working .
Me too!
That car is loverly. The owner is a very lucky man.
As usual Adam . Methodical and thorough !
I wonder if it's worth putting a small magnet inside the mesh screen, be easier to clean out next time?
I very much admire your careful and systematic work.
Another great video 😊
Thank you!
Good job! The radio isn't connected as it should. Normally, there is a constant +, a constant - and an ignition-switched +. Otherwise, the radio would be on all the time.
I agree Adam, when you showed the rust in the tank and then it after flushing I immediately thought fuel from an old metal jerrycan that had been dry stored for years and then had fuel put in and transfered to the Jag.
If you get the car back with more crud in the filter, try an endoscope or a small mirror to see what the very top of the tank looks like. If the car sat for awhile with the tank partially empty, the upper part of the tank could have rusted and junk is falling down.
A great video. Pity you are not in the UK, to look after my 2004 24000 mile X350 4 2 XJ LWB, a former mayoral car for tge Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London.
Very enjoyable video thanks Adam.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have one customer (a Judge) who always brought me his truck with almost no fuel, no matter how many times I bitched at him he still did it, the next time I filled it up and charged him for my time filling it, he never did it again. 🤑😁
You could try the electrolysis method favoured by TJM?? Seems like amazing results.
Another awesome video! I'm replacing the valve cover gaskets on my pre- He XJS. I saw in your previous videos you recommend getting the better thicker gaskets instead of factory original. Where can I get those better thicker valve cover gaskets from? I don't think you say where in those valve cover gasket replacement videos. like always thank you so much for all the great videos! Cheers from Lunenburg Nova Scotia Canada.
What a beautiful car and paint colour.
There seemed to be a lot of rust flakes around the filler neck that might fall into the tank during filling.
Hello Adam 👋. I just picked up a Triumph TR6, ever get into Triumphs?
Rust from an old steel can as has been said already, or rust from the underground storage pens the fuel is kept in when you fill up at a station, I did for a short while suffer the same sort of thing, just less rust, my tank is alloy and I don't use steel fuel containers, ended up being the fuel station itself, they admitted that several folks had same the same thing over a few months period so they called folks in to check it, sure enough the tank was rotten and bad luck saw me and others fill up when the tank was near empty.
👍🇦🇺
Should you move radio power to a switched supply so it doesn’t drain the battery?
I do what I get asked to and paid for. As long as he turns it off it will be fine
Yes this is 100% the way to go. It is wired incorrectly.
As dirty as a TV personalities conscience.
