I tried the 39 Pel and I didn’t like how light it felt. I do like the OG 58 with its gilt bezel, pop of red triangle and the lovely rivets that make it more interesting than the typical dull oyster bracelet.
I like both and own the BB58. I prefer the look of the 58 over the Pelagos, it just looks classier and for me is more interesting due to the gold tones and red triangle. I think it's also more versatile than the Pelagos and I prefer the weight of stainless steel over titanium. I agree the on the fly adjustment on the 39 is a plus and the polish on the 58 can be a scratch magnet. Overall I'll keep the 58 👌
I have the new BB54. The Pelagos 39 was just purchased NIB with warranty under retail, saving me several hundred. The 54 is my 50s submariner, while the P39 is my professional, modern diver.
Well Hannes, I nearly agree. In Your comparison BB versus Pelagos You might take an closer look to the BB ceramic: interesting material, Tudor 's first Master chronometer and so on...
I prefer the Pelagos over the BB 54! Its the perfect Daily watch! The 54 is really nice vintage Watch , but for daily use, the Pelagos is the way to go! And I think that the Pelagos is very independent, the Snowflakes Hands fit much better, the Black Bay gives me more homage vibes, that i dont like so much.
It all really depends on how many and what kind of watches you already own and what you prefer, dressier or more tool watch. like them all, the blue and the black 58, the 54 as well as the P39, they’re all great. I‘ll probably get the FXD blue because I want something sporty and colorful and i like how flat and wrist hugging and light it is inspite of the 42mm diameter. It’s different from what I already own. But I absolutely love my friends P39 and really would like that too😄 And perhaps down the road maybe the taupe 925 58 (as it looks way better in person).
Tudor’s line up is basic and “boring” throughout insofar as the Black Bay and Pelagos, and that’s okay, they’ve tried to cover a multitude of flavors of “boring”, which should be synonymous to “reliable”. The watch should never outshine the man, and it’s the man, or what he does, that makes the watch a go anywhere tool. Enjoy your new watch, go out and get it in the water, against the rocks, through the mud!
I have the bb58 blue and for me it has way more class and elegance thank the p39 which feels way too light and cheap… the sunburst doesn’t work for me And would have been much better had it been flat Matt black like the OG 42 that I also own.. also the 21mm lugs are a mistake should have been 20mm. The new black fxd is a much more interesting watch than the p39 feels More robust and has that Matt dial and bezel.
Agree with you on the 21mm lugs... I sold my BB58. The p39 on the other hand I think makes up for the deficits of the BB58... it's more contemporary, its lighter, more of a tool watch, less bling in general. I really appreciated its wearability. On either watch I'd prefer a date though,
@@WH-hi5ew I hear you but I love the more bling aesthetic of the bb58 and I have the tool watch vibe (and date ) on my pelagos 42 .. which is the ultimate tool watch.. and my daily.. when I want a smarter more refined look I opt for the 58.
The 42 is significantly larger (obviously), not only width but most importantly thickness. I've had both and would recommend the 39, unless you specifically want a colour (or a date).
@@acpulse yes I tried on the Tudor Pelagos 42 and it fit fine on my 7.5 inch wrist. The thickness was a little more than I like. I will check on the 39.
The pelagos line up all look like plastic and paper watches. The initial look looks good but it's a really dull ass watch. Only thing I like about it is the amount of lume, thats it...
Disagree. I think the BB58 is as lazy a design as there is. Fake rivets, neo vintage and dull. Not great as a tool watch. But not much of a luxury diver either. I highly doubt people in 1970 were asking for 1940s Tudors...
The P39 looks a lot more lively in person, than you might think. The dial and bezel reflect nicely, the red text is a nice touch. It’s a lovely watch that I would like to own.

Great combo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Both great watches. I've had the 58 for 3 years and it's a life keeper for me however I'm going to add either the pelagos 39 or a submariner no date.

Pelagos 39 is on my need list! 😍
I much prefer the Pelagos to the 58 also.
Neo vintage is unimaginative and lazy. Stale. P39 for an easy win.
my san martin blue pelagos is perfect!!!!!!

This guy is crazy saying the extremely sterile Submariner or Pelagos has more "edge" and "life" than the Black Bay
Crazy SOB that guy!

Oh yes. Tool watch!
Love the Pelagos 39. Modern day Tudor Submariner.

There is no wrong nor right, it's a matter of taste and it doesn't matter what others think, it's you that matters.
Agree about the ultra boring nature of the BB58. I am looking into the Pelagos 39 or 42
How can you call bb58 boring when the pelagos is the most boring looking watch there is.
@@MarkDanger777 because the BB58 is cheap, neo vintage design. Overplayed and overdone.

So in summary: you think the pelagos looks better. Simple
No.
I got the bb pro a couple of months ago , it's killed my collection the Pelagos is very tempting.
You say you disliked the Black Bay 58 because it's 'too perfect' but you then find a host of things wrong with it lol.
Not harsh, simply correct
The squared indices are annoying
