Having now played the game I can confidently say the game specifically points out the centre window and how it is mechanically better than the others. Perception -1 strikes again apparently.
You also can't counter offer when people come in to buy, the calculator comes up, but as far as I know it won't let you counter offer at all they just give you a price and you say yes or no. Dear Jon, it is one of the most intriguing and entertaining games of recent months, you simply HAVE to consider making it a series! :) I would love to watch the story unfold with your commentary! :)
"Imagine Papers, please, but it's the future and everyone is aware that we may be only a couple of months out from the complete collapse of society." So it's set in the modern UK, then?
I love games with very precise facts, I found the Mona Lisa painting existing in the game very interesting, especially when the age was in the actual predicted age of the actual mona lisa

"No historical importance" of these shoes from 2020. I can't help but laugh. I know this game's world is different to ours but the coincidence there is hilarious.
He's fantastic at injecting story and character into the gaps of games. I've never been one for grand strategy games, but he makes them so fascinating and enjoyable that Stellaris and CKII were some of my favorites.
What kind of pawn shop game won't allow you to take advantage if the ignorance of the person coming in? That is like the bread and butter of the business, isn't it?
Great video as per usual Jon, thanks for continuing to make content, your stuff has really helped me out here and there, and it can feel good to hear a familiar voice from time to time whenever I need it

I found out that with the celebrity selling a doll of himself - if you're in the right spot in singsing you can see him getting the doll from a fan that morning.

This game is fantastic , just one tini tiny little thing , the people passing in the window in the backround never stop and look in the window , just just pass by never stop and look
The story of how Jon from Manyatruenerd turned into GideonfromtheCrow. Love it 😂❤️ this was quite entertaining. Thank you for playing, editing and all the work. Maybe even a game i give a try despite not thinking much about before. :D
jon...going by what you described this game as, you missed out on a lot of the actual story behind papers please didn't you? This one just seems like you get to be a shop npc in any dystopian setting game people play, so it's dystopia pawn shop the game
I once sold a portable mini disk player to cash converters it was in there window for over a year and a half talk about winning at life oh the memories
The build up at the end makes this seem kind of tempting. But I didn't do that well at managing things in Recettear so I'm not so sure I should play it.
I find it funny Jon worked in advertising and *completely* ignored the more valuable place front and center of the advertising window. 😂
right? its driving me crazy

@@ktaragorn He wasn't saving it, it's in his blind spot.

This is why he's a RUclipsr now and not working in advertising and marketing anymore. 😅
That bugged me the whole video. 🤣
I didn't notice either 🤦
He always does things like that. Its to mess with us
Jon constantly rejecting offers at slightly below a fair price before negotiating in a NEGOTIATION GAME.
Admittedly this doesn't always work later on, since if you don't properly examine what's brought in your ass will be blasted.

To be fair if you're skimming it looks like he was the one hurting people.
Jon, it's not oppressive rain, we had a vote on whether or not to outlaw emotions. Verdict was a unanimous "meh"
Overburdened with indifference.
If I die, tell my wife I said "hello"

Democratic tyranny, the best kind of tyranny.

While the real Mona Lisa doesn't have a signature, it's nearly three feet high and painted on a wooden panel. Don't get fobbed off with an A4 print!
It is indeed a terrible dystopia where people are forced to sell priceless works of art for $45 to Jon's seedy underhanded ripoff pawn shop
