The key to the amazingness for me is that she is singing along to the piano and the piano is following her. And she is not playing the piano but the bass!

I've been in love with her since I saw her on PBS as a teen. Studying music, I would share her music with fellow music majors and we all praised her talent as well as the other musicians. Music that influenced us mere students, and made our lives all the richer!!! Thank you Madame for gifting the world with your talent, artistry, and grace!

You know, I don't really like jazz: never really got into it, but I've been listening for about a half-hour now, and I can honestly see the appeal. I still wouldn't listen to jazz regularly after this, but, I do feel like I have more of an understanding about why so many people enjoy it so much.

I don't really speak 'jazz', or believe in reincarnation, but I'm a fan of Deep Space 9, and it seems to me Esperanza is a Trill with both Monk and Ella inserted into her body. We Terrans are fortunate to be visited by her. Like everybody else who posts, I'm in love!

EXQUISITELY SUPERB!!! What's not to love?!!! I love it all, from the melody, the very tight instrumentation of the whole band, and of course Esperanza's virtuoso bass playing and her lovely scat singing!

Over the last year and a half I have been on a journey myself to discover and experience different genres. My starting point was classic rock and beyond, and classical guitar and beyond in the other direction (I’m a student of classical guitar). I meandered here after discovering Pat and Jaco last year. Any suggestions for heavy metal listening, somewhere in the “heaviness” range between Metallica and Slipknot? The latter was a little beyond my current appreciation 😁. BTW going to a Metheny convert in Nov! Cheers.
