    Taylah, careful with painting that door edge! We have an older house here that was custom built so that every door fits just right in its own door frame and when we bought it I didn't know better and painted the doors, including the edges. What that tiny bit of paint did was create just enough thickness that the doors would stick and scrape on the door frames! My husband had to plane the painted edges down just to get them to shut smoothly and quietly. Just saying, really check the tightness of the door when it is shut before gumming it up with paint and if you do paint, do a dry brushing method so that your 2-3 layers are very thin and wont interfere with your door shutting because what I can see in the video looks very much like raw wood and it was planed down to shut smoothly just like what happened to us!

    Congrats again on the house at such a young age, be so proud. The house I'm in now, the previous owners didn't even take the screws and picture hangers out of the wall, it was a mess. Every wall had to be repainted and holes patched and there were a TON of holes. The house I sold, the new owners literally had to do nothing. but move their stuff in. It's the joys of buying a home. :) Remember too with the fabric wall if you are going to keep those drapes open with that sunlight, cover that fabric or it will fade out. Hang sheets over it...I ruined some very expensive fabric by not covering it from the sun. Have fun with the new home.

    I did a cross country move from Minnesota to Texas. I had to start all over with pantry staples. I started slowly with one or two condiments and the same with spices. I bought what I needed at the time and planned meals around my slowly growing food supplies. It can be so overwhelming to try to get everything at once.

    (In the room with only one power outlet)You will need power for your printers. I would put the shelf covering the power outlet in the wardrobe for storage, then move your printer stand by the power outlet and set up the cricket there as well. Then, get a new table for packing and put it in front of the window.

  • @maxineamos
    @maxineamos Год назад +5

    Taylah if you go to Bunnings with the measurements for your packing table, They will be able to cut to size a piece of Melamine which is the same as your shelves. The only thing you may need to do with it is add the white tape onto the sides and you just need an iron to do that. Yes Bunnings do sell the metal shelf supports :) Everyone has negative and unhappy times, and there is no need to say sorry. Once the stress is off you will be kicking goals again. Take care

    Consider unpicking the pleats in your curtains and buying the dritz curtain grommets they are easy to install and will slide easy on the rods without getting stuck. I think you’ll appreciate the lined curtain keeping the heat and cold out while sitting next to your window sewing. Lots of YT diy videos on “door won’t stay open”. Easy fix. Beautiful home.

    For the scrunchie wall missing peg, just pop a bit of dowel in the hole. Check pencils to see if one fits and cut it short enough. Also, get a level. You'll find it in hardware. Check if the door that closes on its own is level. You can use it to level the shelving units also. Shim (skinny pieces of wood) under the front to make them lean slightly back towards the walls - this will help make them a bit safer. More than likely, it is from settling. Houses settle and shift, making them off level. Nature of the beast. Congrats on the house - love the view from your workrooms.
    Also, not crafting - you have a home business. You are a creator and a hardworking one at that.

Just a suggestion, instead of painting the doors consider replacing them with barn doors so your don't have to fuss with the door banging into your stuff. Also it would give you more space to either store things or just make it easier to move around. Good luck and enjoy.

    Great space for your business in your new home. Congratulations. The door with unfinished edges just means it was not closing properly - maybe too tight and getting stuck when being opened and closed. Looks like someone took it down and shaved off the places that make the door fit improperly. You might consider a pretty arched doorway to connect your Design Room to your Packing & Show room instead of knocking down the wall which can get tricky with electrical wiring and other stuff inside the walls. That way if changes need to be made in the future and the wall needs closing again, it will not be a big deal to close it up. Stay well and enjoy your new space.

    Sounding negative? No way. I just saw and heard a young lady working through lifes little challenges. Just remember to breathe, take it one step at a time and enjoy the journey.

    Love this video. Just thinking about how you said about knocking out a wall. If you do that you lessen to one bedroom less? Thinking of possible resale in years to come, woukdnt that lessen the home resale with lesser bedrooms? Thinking out loud. Also with a hard worker like yoursekf please watch out for burnout before it arrives. Hope you rest enough for yourself.😊

      Thank you! And yes if I was to knock the wall out I would loose resale value so I decided not to as this house will be an investment property in the future 🥰

    For the TV, it is missing the mounting bracket that connects/hooks on to the back of the TV.

    Love watching you set up your new 'happy place'. As for Woolies ..:(....They own more than 300 licensed gambling venues....I refuse to buy from them...to the extent that when the "Hi Mum' scam was doing the rounds, my son got a 'Hi Mum, I'm in Woolies blah blah". He cracked up because the kids ( I have 4) all know I refuse to give Woolies a b*** cent. LOL
