I often buy cheap bed pillows instead of soft filling for stuffing toys etc …..some pillows have almost the same stuff inside and it can be much cheaper…..just have to get the right pillows.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that saves bows until the end...and then often I don't get to them lol It's really sad to see fellow small biz owners closing up shop. I get it though.....my sales definitely aren't what they were last year but I also haven't been putting as much into it as I should be. Love your vlogs! love your spirit!

I commented in your next video asking you to show us how to make the heatless curlers. Somehow I missed this video so I apologize. Thank you for showing us!! The funny thing is I make it yesterday and then today I find you doing it. Lol. I tried it in my hair and it annoyed me early on as well lol

Yeah you did the right thing with your Juki. The extension pole for the foot is stupidly short as standard, but the worst thing that could happen is the foot pedal will detach and you won’t go anywhere.

Omg I hear ya! So many small businesses closing. I finally caught up last week after having unfulfilled orders non stop for 4-5 years! I'm usually still working Christmas Eve and trying to close the website for a week off over Christmas. I don't know if I'm working more efficiently or if it's quiet

I think many small businesses that sell lower priced items will still be ok , I know even on a bad money week I will still spoil myself with a few cheapish items say $40 max unless I have a power bill or something bad …….. and many people spend regardless until the shit hits the fan .
The shops have still been absolutely packed when ever I go and trolleys very full …I’d rather reduce takeaways or going out places before stopping my other little purchases that make me happy.
I think handmade businesses that already have loads of fabric etc they can make stock with are mad to shut down this time of year , especially online sales that don’t require more than packing and posting if an order comes in (only list what you already have made up)
if you don’t spend anything on the business you don’t absolutely need just use up what you already have and get as much of your money back as you can sounds more logical to me than giving up , can always just say “ on holiday “ incase change your mind and have to start from scratch.
Been in bed sick as a dog with covid19 the past week so I have to stay off shopping apps etc as I’m sure I’ve blown my pocket money already …lol..

I’ve been planning my shop opening for the past 5 months, getting all my fabrics in and hardware etc. getting all my custom packaging made etc. but now I’m too scared to open because of the recession and every penny counting during these hard times. I know people always need childrens clothing and scrunchies etc. but it’s so worrying.
So scared I put hundreds into it to not even be able to start.

I enjoy your market preps, maybe because I can put the videos on and just let them play. I'm curious, do you take credit cards as well as cash? Most of our vendors here take credit cards with a reader on our phone, or Venmo payments. I'd rather deal with that than cash - and oh, my gosh, how rude is it for a customer to show up at a garage sale or market with a $100 bill?

Thanks so much! I do I have a square reader which is super helpful I usually do 50/50 cash and card spending on the market area. More country way markets have a lot more cash but closer to the city it’s more card. 💓

my sales have gone down soooo much since summer its crazy! I do beaded daisy jewlery (@kearistudio if anyone is interested to see) and I guess its kind of a summer thing, so this could also play a big role into why my sales are so low but I guess its also bc living cost has gone up a lot. luckily I dont depend on my business, bc I have a part time job with which I can pay all the bills and buy food, so the money from my business is just for me to either reinvest or just buy whatever I fancy and thats what I need to kind of slow down now. I did save some money and I really dont want to spend any of it, so I really hope sales are going to go up again next year in spring (I'm from germanny btw). I'm just very glad that I can keep my business bc I do it from home and I have another job. I really would not want to give up. I really enjoy making jewlery and I would like to grow my business into someting bigger (maybe designing jelwery to get manufactured so I dont have to do all by hand etc) and at some point beeing able to work full time on my buisness like you do.
