As a middle aged native Georgian, I am comforted that Carter lived just long enough for any debate that he was the worst President in modern American history to be completely rejected by the American people in Nov 2024. He lived to see our complete and utter Biden humiliation as a country and a people in real time. I always thought Jimmy got a bad rap as President, clearly he wasn’t great, but he was honest and not corrupt. In my lifetime he and Trump are the only 2 presidents who didn’t use the Oval Office exclusively to enrich themselves by destroying the American middle class. He may have been bad at the job, but wasn’t contemptuous of American workers at all. For that, he’s sadly one of the best presidents of my lifetime. Such a low bar. But I believe he was a good Christian man. God speed President Carter, your legacy was forever redeemed by the troglodytes who installed a dementia ridden puppet into the White House in 2020. RIP

Jimmy Carter was genuinely one of the best Presidents that the country has ever seen. Perhaps not measured by political success, but certainly by morals and ethics. He was genuinely a good person. Thankfully, time has rehabilitated much of his legacy and history has been much kinder to Carter's presidency than his contemporaries. I think Biden's legacy will be similar. Hopefully he lives to 100 as well and can live to see his presidency appreciated, much like President Carter.

being educated in the public school of Plains, attending Georgia Southwestern College and the Georgia Institute of Technology, and receiving a B.S. degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1946. In the Navy he became a submariner, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific fleets and rising to the rank of lieutenant. Chosen by Admiral Hyman Rickover for the nuclear submarine program, he was assigned to Schenectady, New York, where he took graduate work at Union College in reactor technology and nuclear physics 🧠 and served as senior officer of the pre-commissioning crew of the Seawolf, the second nuclear submarine.
