Jimmy Carter was ahead of his time. We weren't ready for him. We didn't deserve him. Maybe, just maybe, another will come along some day, inspired by his greatness, and make his vision a reality.
If we want another President Carter, we need to become the next President Carter. We need to become the change that not just we want to see, but the change Carter would want us to bring.

His greatest strength was his greatest weakness: his honesty. When things were not going smoothly, he did not mince words and tell the people that everything was fine; he told them how it was and even put the blame upon himself, which unfortunately made it possible for political rivals to use that against him. His “malaise speech” and plain way of speaking was also uninspiring to lots of people but I still think that is better than other politicians who do nothing but lie. He was truly a good and honest man
I'd add that Carter popped the OPEC oil price bubble - making the "Reagan recovery" possible. He fought the good fight, and stood up for our best American values. Thank you, sir.
At 100 years of age, Jimmy Carter was the oldest living president, living the longest post-presidency life-44 years. More importantly, though, and regardless of what history will say about his time in the White House, President Carter didn't run out and begin a lucrative speaking career. (Although many recent names do come to mind that have.) Instead, Carter went on to establish a nonprofit organization, he wrote books, he continued diplomatic activities around the world, and he even served as a university distinguished professor at Emory. Carter also became the face of Habitat for Humanity. Wow, simply outstanding. Simply put, former President Jimmy Carter spent a lifetime doing good deeds; it is this that he leaves behind, a most revered legacy. RIP James Earl Carter Jr.

With the passing of Jimmy Carter, it feels like something good and true is passing in the US. Carter was part of the silent generation who grew up during the great depression. This generation knew sacrifice and how to live with less. I can't help feeling a sadness and also a dread at the timing of his death. 2025 will see the return of Trump; a man who seems to embody the opposite to what Carter stood for. Thank you President Carter for your service, honesty and integrity. May you rest in peace and may God help America.
Carter was actually a later member of the The Greatest Generation, he grew up during the Great Depression, big band, and was part of WW 2. Biden is a late member of the Silent Generation, grew up in the 1940s, 50s, early 60s, and the Beatles and the Vietnam War was more important to his generation. Later Silents like Biden have a lot in common with early Boomers like Bill Clinton and Trump.
Carter would want us to keep striving to be better. Better than we are now. He would want us to keep fighting for a better America. It's because of people like Carter that I refuse to give up on our country.
I regard former President Jimmy Carter as the greatest president of my lifetime. His leadership was characterized by an unwavering commitment to peace, human rights, and integrity, even in the face of political challenges. President Carter's efforts to broker the Camp David Accords demonstrated his dedication to diplomacy and conflict resolution on a global scale. Domestically, his emphasis on energy independence and environmental stewardship was visionary, addressing challenges that remain critical to this day. What truly sets President Carter apart, however, is the life he led beyond his presidency. He exemplified humility and service, devoting himself to humanitarian work through the Carter Center, eradicating diseases, monitoring elections, and building homes for those in need. His moral compass and deep compassion for humanity serve as a timeless example of what leadership can achieve when rooted in principle. I often reflect on what the world might have become had his visionary ideas and exceptional leadership been fully realized. Rest in peace, President Carter, and thank you for a life devoted to making this world a better place for all.
What’s crazy when ppl blame Iran hostage crisis on Carter is that in the very last days of his presidency he was up all night negotiating for the release of the hostages, but new evidence squarely affirms that Reagan’s surrogates persuaded the Iranian’s to not agree to the release until Reagan was sworn in. The final insult to Carter and a triumph Reagan deserved zero for since he did none of the work when Carter actually was. He was a man of value and still got the hostage deal done and did not let this insult prevent his ego from getting it done. Manny men would be lesser and couldn’t successfully do such a thing. He was also a direct engineer and officer working on the first nuclear navy back in the 50s which is crazy for naval historians

So many comments on different channels, even mainstream media. And I watch the reporters interviewing people who knew him personally. Only thankful President Carter won't have to live through the next 4 years. This great man was under appreciated in his own country during his lifetime, but the rest of the world valued and loved him.
You’re mostly right, but I for one have always valued him. 😊 Surprisingly, I am seeing such an outpouring of people who felt like I do about Pres. Carter. So many comments on different channels, even mainstream media. And I watch the reporters interviewing people who knew him personally. Their faces show a kind of affection you don’t see often on newspeople. I only wish we would have honored him when he was alive and able to see and hear all the accolades he is being given right now.
Thank you Sir, maybe your presidency was not perfect, but everything after was.
They don't make people like him anymore. I can only hope to live as long and eventful a life as he did.
""LEADERSHIP IS(AS LEADERSHIP DOES)"!

Wow I didn't know Carter played a significant role in institutionalizing the practice of independent, international election observation. What an amazing man. Everyone talks about the US as an imperialist war mongering nation, which to some extent is true, but stuff like this should not be overlooked.
Rest in peace Mr. President. Thank you Mr. Carter for your service and beautiful legacy.
Jimmy Carter was definitely the most good and decent man we have ever had as president, and the work he did after his presidency was amazing. He touched many lives and was truly a special person. A life very well lived. Rest in Peace, Jimmy.
His like will not come again. Decent, honest, compassionate, yet humble and lives to serve. I deeply love the Late President Carter. The best of our country has died.
Rest in peace President Carter
President Carter who was an extraordinary human being, represented the best of the American spirit. A man of deep faith, dedicated to service. Honest, generous, modest, compassionate and kind. He was a visionary who inspired people all over the world as humanitarini, peacemaker, advocate foe human rights, democracy, social justice and civil rights. An environmentalist and work to eradicate disease. RIP ❤
The greatest ever♥️🕊️
He was a wonderful man ❤ ahead of his time asking us to use sun for our energy in 1976 (solar energy) after being our President he spent his time building homes for Habitat for Humanity & was always engaged in helping others ❤
Thank you for your services Mister President Carter! May you rest peacefully!❤❤❤❤❤

"He was a man take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again." Shakespeare, Hamlet
Imagine being such a good person that the leader of North korea wants you to go and meet him instead of the current president
Too good for politics
AMEN‼️
Nah, as capable of playing the game as anyone.
I don't care what nobody say about Jimmy Carter when he was president there was peace in the land and he loved the poor❤❤❤❤❤❤
A decent, decent man.
Thankyou President Carter! ❤
His humanity was so deep and always will shine¡¡
People remember he was a farmer. They forget he was an nuclear engineer who worked for the Navy in their atomic warfare department. He knew exactly what nuclear war would look like and did his utmost to promote peace.
Every former president continues to be addressed as "Mr. President" for the rest of his life. Jimmy Carter is the only one who wore that badge as an honor and a responsibility.
The world has lost a good man. Let's hope we keep him in our hearts as a role model.
Rest in Peace.😂
Rest in peace Jimmy Cater
Carter was someone that Trump or Elon could never be.
No president since has come close to exhibiting his honesty, integrity and humility; his love and appreciation for all people; his diplomatic understanding and skill; and his priority for peace. None, not one.
Carters a human benchmark. Not just trump and Elon, but most people today. We truly lost a great soul today. May he Rest In Peace
Can America achieve Carter's level of integrity today..
