I bought this chair summer 2016 and been carrying it in my car all the time. This IS the MOST COMFORTABLE portable chair that I've ever have. It is just very good design and nothing else. They just made it right.
Sweetloaf + 4 Days = 0 Tasks completed = Priceless.
Good job men! So sweet.
Like my daughter "the spreader." Amazing how fast a mess can be made.
@@carlzirk are you going for the loctite icon lil
The day after Thanksgiving is my wife's favorite day of the year. I get all the decorations up from the basement then I leave and spend the day doing guy stuff with my son. She decorates all day while listening to Christmas music. After dinner we decorate the tree as a family. Win win!
I will still buy the old aluminum camp chairs if I find them at garage sales. They are great.
They also lie flat when you store them. Much more convenient.
They also fit your body better and do not put your legs to sleep.
There's a place in Florida that makes them today, and they sell them online along with replacement webbing and doo-dads to fix your old ones. Can't remember what the place is called though...
This! Also lighter and more durable!
The grapes of wrath comment got a good chuckle from me
Hey Mr W. I enjoy your videos and especially your woodwork projects. Since its getting colder, do you have any winter projects planned for this year?
wallaby party I agree with you! I started watching this channel because of seeing the cabin build!
Cody ! Love it when you get people all fired up !!
People were commenting on the "diesel comment" However, I wonder how many people know that the Chevy Duramax Diesel is actually part Isuzu (Japanese) joint venture between Isuzu and GM. Now that chair might be comfy to read everyone freak out about the diesel comment and REI politics haha! Great video as always! God Bless
Getting our first snow here south of STL, no accumulation but hopefully a little preview of big things to come this winter. Can't have too much snow in my book and we sure are due for some, been a couple seasons since I had to put the plow to work.
you can get the same quality and style from Walmart for 20 dollars. I have the chair and its great, and I don't have to wait for it to go on sale.
Im also a fan of the Ozark trail ones at Walmart .
please film the winterizing of your stuff.
Yeah, keen to see you winterizing your equipment. We don't get any snow here in Auckland, NZ.
GM wouldn't miss this little piece
I wouldn't mind seeing a video of winterizing again. When you do a video on a topic and then wait a while, it's always good to see it again. There will almost certainly be a slightly new perspective on it or a new preference, etc.
Walmart’s Ozark Trail line has a chair very similar to this for 20 dollars. I have one and it works very well.
Every 4th of July I'll go to the beach. People just leave chairs behind it's wild so that is my source for camp chairs
I think your video is so great! Your family sounds so great and loving!! I came for the chair review but stayed for the welcoming hospitality 😊
Love the commentary, hilarious. Nice video! Thanks for sharing, man. Delivery is informative and interesting, and yout analysis of the quality of materials and use of metaphors to explain things is helpful.
Know the feeling with a Michigan winter storm and love the cold of powder fresh snow of the Wasatch.
Agreed the cold up in Washington/Oregon is bitter... Would definitely appreciate seeing your wintering routines. Thank you!
Just bought one myself but have not used it on site yet, they also sell a thermal liner for the back and seat. Haven't seen that table, I like it!
I have one of these. I've been using it wrong since getting it. Thanks for showing me the right way!
I have tried several types of camp chairs and the helinox isn't all that. I prefer the Kermit chair, takes a bit more space than the micro chair when rolled up, it's all USA made, of USA materials, and Really Expensive Items doesn't sell them 😉. I pack it with my tent on the motorcycle for adventure trips and it's never failed me. I weigh about #250, and it holds me just fine. The Kermit NOT fragile, and they stand behind thier product and you can even get a cupholder!
Must be the jacket you wore the first time you went hunting with your grandfather lol
I had that chair for 6 months when I was 14 (And around 130 lbs) and it's poles bent after 6 months of very light use with the boy scouts. I strongly recommend not buying this chair unless the design is ever drastically changed. With that being said I still think this is a great video Cody!
Same kind of cold for us Texans nearer the coast. Humans cold will always be the worse. Currently 40 and raining and just kinda gross here. God bless and happy November!
If your not looking for something tiny and want something robust The Coleman's big and tall collapsible camping chair can hold up to 5 or 600 pounds. It's not bulky or crazy looking. It's maybe a little higher then a normal folding chair in a thin bag with a strap similar to a tent. They are only 20 or so bucks. I hate flimsy chairs, IAM a big guy and I like to hook up a sun umbrella to the back of it and a rod holders on the side.
So many negative comments. Anyways thank you for the review. I appreciate REI. I have been thinking of getting this chair and this review helped
Was on a motorcycle trip and a lot of the guys had a Kermit chair. Good quality, light weight, small folded size...bit pricey though.
I have the exact same chair. Literally the exact same system and materials, and hell, they're probably made in the same factory. But mine is branded as the Helinox One. Such great chairs
Love REI Gear. I used my dividend to buy two of these. Keep them in my truck all the time.
Ive got to admit, I thought to myself, Cody hasn't posted I video in a few days I wonder whats up? That's right Mrs. W is out of town and he's on sweetloaf duty. Makes total sense, as a fellow dad I understand how hard it would be to make videos and juggle the family solo, it is a LOT of work, no worries here. Im happy that you got some quality Daddy time with the kids, and Mrs. W got to have fun with old friends.
Would love to see you running through the winterization (is that a word) process of different equipment. Do you like to run fogging oil through carburetors? Whats your favorite fuel stabilizer? Sea Foam? Sta Bil? Amsoil? In any sense it would be informative to see your process for winterizing things.
Love the old school advice on woo'ing the ladies 😁
First flake just touched down in texas also!
Happy first snow!!
Beautiful, funny ,sweet beginning video of your daughter! ..🤣🤣😀😀
My grandad is 85 and he STILL repairs his folding chairs😂
Love this guy! I like Costco; REI; and Ford trucks regardless of politics!!
Bought my first pair of climbing shoes from Rei in Colorado back in the early 80’s not to many of the stores back then
I'm from Minnesota Cody, don't know about -300!! Ha ha! It was 7 degrees this past weekend though!
A rekindled appreciation for the ways our wives make our lives better is always a good thing.
Very nice REI camping chairs ! I tried them and they are very comfortable and great price right now too ! Thanks !
You had some nice clips........i think you could of easily made a video on your apeciation for mrs w and other stay at home parents.
My sons 8yo now and i can tell you im lost going from working in the woods running grapple skidder to comming home and having to fill in for momma when she has to go somwere on the weekend......im lost.
We had snow last saturday in central michigan...
We use the same chairs camping and river rafting. Love them!
Draining stuff... make sure to leave ball valves half open, so the ball itself drains. The hole in the ball if full of water will freeze and break the valve housing!
Is there a part 6 of the single log bridge?
I see there's quite a few UK based subscribers in the comments. I'd certainly support a UK based subscriber party if you ever felt inclined to visit again. There's plenty of interesting places to visit away from London - I'm sure you'd get a great reception. Cheers!
Thats why we have Mother's Day 😀
i like the chairs, but sometimes REI can be a bit expensive. i bought one from amazon from ShineTrip called "ultralight portable folding chair" and it's $30.
Yes I would like to see the process. I always look forward to seeing your videos Thank you!
I’m thankful when my wife comes home from the grocery store and takes over again with the youngest baby... seems like women have a different type of patience than men.
I’m one of those evil GM diesel drivers 😉
thanks for the heads up Cody. i grabbed two. 👍🏽👍🏽
Bonus news for you Cody: Alec Steele is now in america! be great for a little colab hint hint hint nudge nudge?
Nice Grapes of Wrath reference! I miss the days of having Loctite flurries, we don't get snow where I live in Nor Cal. Cheers!
Been watching you for years... Don't think I've ever seen you sit down. 😄😄
Helinox Chair Zero is better. Can be found on sale for $80-85. Only 1.1 lbs, packs down smaller, and is just as comfortable.
I'm pretty much over REI. They have always been expensive, and they did away with their return policy which is why I was willing to pay for it. I think the money you spend at REI could be spent at cottage manufactures and you'll get more bank for your buck. Its good gear, but not great gear.
I mean, I think the only difference is REI's is bigger which may put your legs at a more comfortable angle. That being said, I prefer (because I have it) the Helinox Chair Zero over Flexlite because of the weight... I wouldn't really consider flexlite backpacking unless I had a real good excuse to not have a bunch of other weighty items in my pack.
The Kermit Chair excedes!
I have a boat and I'm always looking to find compact products and a chair is one thing i really needed. I used to have that chair and your right is really nice. I upgraded to the PICO ARM CHAIR and I like it even better. Check it out.
Im from Minnesota and live in Oregon now. Its never cold here lol. Cody do you need a heating pad?
"Make a young girl Swoon", How about a product that will make and Old Gal stop complaining? :) Thanks for the review Cody, Looks like good equipment.
Les From Eastern Oregon.
We have had 13.5 " already, Erie, PA
good one thanks
Keep us posted on how the camper van furnace performs during those cold days.
Just ordered 2, thanks for the heads up!
Good reminder I need to drain the pressure washer. Yep I remember the old finger pinching chairs.
I love it man Ford... my last work truck... still running has well over 400,000 on its 2004 10 cylinder engine.
be well, regards,
from N. Tx.
dogbugler
You can still get webbing, I've repaired several of those old-school chairs... although due to them being big I gave them away.
Thanks for the heads up :)
If you have the time lookup the snow peak equipment from japan
Yes, we want to tag along.
People that dislike need to leave this world.
Yes would love to see a winterize equipments video
YES! I remember those webbed chairs. :o) My problem with the REI chairs is they are TOO low for me. I have knee problems and can't stand up from them. My REI chair is taller and easier to get out of. It is, of course, a bit heavier, but I like to take it when I go to street festivals which are notorious for NO PLACES TO SIT.
I have a couple of made in China knock-offs. Well, not a knock-offs, rather, made by the same manufacture, but without the REI mark-up. Works awesome, except for in sand.
I was just lol'ing with your diesel comments, just great . Glad you survived, thanks Cody!!!
Well dang now we know why Cody has so much Locktite, it's literally falling from the sky up there in Oregon!
They are 9$ free shipping in AliExpress...
Rei ...
Where parents standing on the sidelines of soccer fields purchase $400. each outdoor matching “wilderness” outfits
And everything out of season is offered on sale at 25 percent less than the 150 percent mark up
Show us the winter using proses and tell stories of elk hunting
Man. I didn’t quite know how offensive GM was. How dare they! Lol. Cool chair.
Wranglerstar, are you involved with helping stop the fire in California. I dont quite remember where you were located.
lol interesting snow y'all have there. Great video!
Very nice
I still have two chairs like that, and love them!
Mr Wranglerstar, have you thought about helping fight fires in CA?
NEVER let anybody try to tell you that housework isn't "work" . . . 'cause it ain't so. Stay-at-home housewives or househusbands have a more grueling job that the majority of "bread-winners" have any concept of.
Shut up hippy
The loctite snow killed me 😂
“the worst kind...General Motors..”😂😂
I would love Cody try and handle and put up a 1950 type British deck chair
did you find the small pocket on there somewhere...??? =)
Those old school webbed lawn chairs were the bomb back then, sturdy, easy to re-web, the new ones are garbage.
Long live the folding aluminum chairs! I have 4 of them. The benefit, I can be sitting down before you even get these new wannabe chairs out of their stuff sack. :)
Yes
the diesel references! hahaha
I haven’t watched any of your videos for a while, been too busy, but it’s good to see the comment section is as whiney as ever. 😁
Cool table!
What pants are those? I’ve noticed them in a couple videos. I need some for the ranch.
You realize the 6.7 powerstroke was co designed with GM. The 6.7 is starting to be known as the best diesel Ford has put out. GM cant be that bad. Plus you always gate what you can't have 😂
You should take us along during the winterizing.
Thank you for the video. Go loctite!
