I just now watched this again for old times sake. Your channel has been a favorite of mine for years. I find it fascinating how you evolved from a somewhat apologetic home workshop steward into the powerful online presence you are now! And yet, you continue to be kind, genuine, and a quiet and compelling role model. God bless you, David!
Thanks very much Brent for your kind words and following the channel 🙂
Take care David 👍
Nice relaxing workshop tour just what I needed after a busy day 😊😊 I love your workshop David as it reminded of my grandad 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Karl, l have improved lots in the workshop in the last 6 months. I plan to do another tour showing the changes I've made. Thanks for watching and take care 👍
Aww this reminds me of my grandads old workshop even down to the posters
I watched this the other day .... but forgot too comment.... nice shop mate very similar to my budget shop in single garage
Makes us plan the best use of space carefully 💡
My shop is larger but you manage to have a greater number of tools than I have. I would like to have a welder, compressor, lathe and a second bandsaw! I need to watch more of your videos.
not so poor man's shop. You got all the tools and machines. Nice shop.
Thanks, they are all budget tools and it's took me a few years to gather them all. They are doing the job for me 👍
It's massive! I could only dream of having a workshop like yours!
Like the ceiling insulation idea…..Aldi sell it ..😂😂
It's a nice workshop. It has character! Thanks for the video.
Cheers Andrew 👍
Great video. I have no space to call a workshop. I have a small shed in the garden and that holds my scrap cable. I only have a few tools and they're kept in my bedroom. But I keep things as tidy as possible. Great video, you have a new subscriber 👍
Every man needs a workshop, healthy creative time spend, well done mate😎
Great video Onslow. Great Shop. There's got to be a radio in there somewhere. Turn on the tunes, start a fire, pop open a Miller High Life and park it in that soft swiveling chair with your feet up. Now that's what a Shop is for.
Love the workshop, bigger than mine lol
Cheap? Budget yes, but there is absolutely nothing poor about it. You have a great setup. Everything well thought through and remarkably well arranged considering the space available! A beautiful man cave you got there!
Thanks very much and thank you for watching 🙂👍
Hi I enjoyed the video. A real English mans work shop on a budget. Far more appealing to most of us that try to create in a small space. You have a lot of stuff but well organised thanks for sharing.
Thanks James, keep on creating 👍
Nice shop!
Spot on, buddy. It’s like being in my own workshop, love it. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Thanks 🙂👍
Nice shop looks and sounds great and just subscribe looking forward to some great videos 🍺🍺👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much Brian 👍👍👍🙂
Be thankful for what you have looks like your an inspiration for many people will be subscribing thank you
Thank you Mathew, take care David 🙂 👍
Awesome workshop! Aspire to have my own one day.
Thank you for watching, the workshop has had quite a few changes since this video. Take care 👍
thanks for showing your shop. I'm working on mine, but being one person it's still not done, so at least you have one you can enjoy!!
Good luck in sorting yours, I built mine on my own and it was hard work but it felt good when I had it together.
great workshop there you should be proud👍
Thanks Ben for your kind comment, it does the job for me 🙂
Hey David, good tour. As I type, I have a guy insulating and felting my garage roof so I can get the workshop set up in there. At the moment I am a "fair weather" woody! I have to use the garden since my 8 x 6 shed is now chocca with stuff that should be in a shed! Just like @phillace below. I have a decent Mitre saw and just getting (when it is back in stock) a table saw. I ordered that Ferrex Sander this morning (Back in Aldi at £89.99 but going fast!) Same space as yours so I know what I have will fit OK. Stay safe buddy.
Exciting times then Pete 🙂 it's great setting up a workshop and you'll be able to be in there in all weathers 🌧
Thanks for watching and take care David 👍
It’s actually scary how similar your work space is to my dads lol
Hi (is it) DJ? Enjoyed your budget workshop tour. A point with your stove, its pretty close to the surrounding woodwork. I used paving slabs to make a walled surround for safety and they work like a storage heater afterwards. More insulation the better. Tony
Hi Tony yep it's DJ, I do have a strip of metal sheet about a foot wide running from floor to flue but I do like your slab idea I will keep an eye out for some 👍
I wish i had the space you have , i am struggling in an 8"x 6" shed .
Having a shed on the end of the sectional garage does help with space. One advantage of a smaller space is you can heat it quickly. Many years ago I did have just a 5 x 7 metal shed. Thanks very much for watching 👍
Great to see what you done with the space, I really hope you have a carbon monoxide alarm to go with your nice little burner. I work on narrow boats and now carry my own coz of the problems I've had this year and last year with burners is small spaces
Thanks for watching, yes I do have a carbon monoxide detector 🙂 I now have a great looking wood burner in my workshop. I have a 2021 workshop tour in my videos which will show all the changes in the last year if your interested.
Take care David 🙂👍
@@InTheWorkshop cheers bud!
Thanks for the tour David 😁👍. It's a proper man cave. Lots of similarities to my little workshop. I also made the fold down bench.. then never used it. I'm a massive fan of workzone (now Ferrex) tools (gotta love Aldi's). My whole shop is also done on a budget. I made all my cabinets with slide up doors which helps a lot if you don't have much floor space. Check out my "Frank's Little Workshop" tour if you get a mo to see what I mean. Thanks again for the vid, stay safe 😁👍.
Thanks Frank, will check out your workshop tour later this evening 👍
My advice, you dont need 2 table saws in such a small shop. Get rid of one and you got extra space. Replace shelves with cabinets, shelves collect junk. Consider using French cleat walls to hang stuff. Also replace the computer chair with a swivel stool, less space.
Thanks Paul for your suggestions, did think maybe get rid of shelves on back wall then I would have room for a tool board. Will keep a look out for a swivel stool 👍
Hi are you from Leicester it’s looking good you need to stop buying tool twice they just take room up use and enjoy what you have 👍
Thanks for the comment, we are in Lincolnshire. Oops too late I've just bought another sliding mitre saw from Screwfix 😉
Wood Stuff Workshop good man can’t have enough tools lol
Did you say it was concrete sectional garage if it is how have you managed to drill the walls. ive tried everything. the last one i tried was a marble glass drill bit. Al of the racking in mine has to stand on the floor and bolt to the roof joists. nice tour
Hi Geoff, it is a concrete sectional garage but I haven't drilled any holes in it. I've used where the sections bolt at the top and hung bracket rails off these.
Thanks for watching 👍
@@InTheWorkshop thanks i was thinking off glueing ods boards to the walls they reckon gorilla glue holds any thing the use normal brackets.
Cost me £1300 to get my shed wired up properly ,about same size as yours . Main cost was 40 meters of armoured cable and the dreaded labour costs.
Blimey, I have now rewired to my workshop with 6mm twin and earth all inside a tough conduit buried underground. It is a lot better than what I had, also tidied the wiring inside the workshop but still not as it should be.
Take care David 👍
nice vid
I have similar space for my workshop but sadly i have to share it with storage space :(
Thanks Jeff, yeah luckily I have some sheds for storage. Thank you for watching and take care David 🙂👍
Just like my workshop.. Love it... Is that an East Midlands accent david
Ha 😀 Yes it is, I have made quite a few changes to the workshop in the last 6 months which have made it loads better to work in.
Thanks for watching 👍
@@InTheWorkshop thought so, I'm originally from Grantham but left the country 20 years ago... I can spot the accent still 😂🤣
@@jigsey. we live half way between Grantham and Lincoln but do pop in to Grantham now and again 👍
I enjoy David’s videos but if he is poor it is probably due to his need to keep buying tools that duplicate the ones he already has. A 3D printer is hardly a poor mans piece of kit.
Thanks Mike, The 3d printer was a bargain at only £160 which was too good to miss. Thanks for watching and take care 👍
