Just working backwards through your videos, so just came across this one. The blue passenger boat with the happy waving man is the Dorset Belle one of three almost identical boats built by Bolsons shipyard in Poole in 1984. It has a 1.6 metre draft. I was crew on this boat when it was operating between Kent and Essex a few years ago when it was called Spirit of Sheppey as a passenger pleasure boat. It now mainly works doing short trips from Bournemouth pier. Love your videos and the way you narrate them. Always look out for notifications of your next ones. Thanks alot and happy sailing .

"As If that cat isn't big enough they've put a greenhouse on top" hahahaha
Talking about that cat and the greenhouse, look where the sail is situated on that mast, it's near on half way up it. Not sure what that would do to the sailing qualities of that boat

I have to agree quite high but just think of what it would be like reefed so high, just as well it’s a cat or it would heel a lot in a blow mike

Do you use the wheelhouse much?

To be honest we never have once used it as a wheel house. We do find it great to spend time in on passage, especially if it’s wet. Mostly to brew up, eat, chat and charts work. It’s good because you can shelter the weather while doing what you need to do and still have the vision like your on deck and not below. So I guess it’s more of a pilot house than a wheel house to us. To date we have never once used the steering wheel! Mike
