1A Auto shows you how to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken, damaged, worn out, faulty or shorted out windshield washer pump. This video is applicable to 2001-2006 Hyundai Elantra models.

I work professionally in educational video production and this is a fantastic tutorial. As a visual learner myself, this is far more helpful to me than just reading a car manual. Also, as far as tutorial videos go, this is very straightforward and gets to the point without a lot of fluff or "verbal wandering" during explanations like most videos on the internet. Easy to follow instructions & such a simple job to do when you know how!
My mechanic said it was a difficult part to access & wanted to charge 4 hours labour. I had the motor out, filter cleaned, hoses cleaned & tested, tank drained & all put back together in 30minutes!

The description says 92-2016 but in the video you said 2001-2006. What statement is correct

I would have checked the operation of the windshield washer system and check for leaks prior to putting the headlight assembly back in.
Good lord, this is one CLEAN Elantra! They're usually regulated to beater car status and never kept in such a nice condition lol. The headlights on my 06 are almost completely opaque by now too hahaha

I cleaned it, sprayed wd-40 in it, tapped it a couple times, it works

like this video. i noticed that the pump is also compatible with the Kia washer fluid pump, but the KIA car dealers in my country (Barbados) won't sell me the washer fluid pump even though it will fit. they always ask for the VIN number of your vehicle which doesn't make sense to me. its about compatibility, not the vehicle you drive.

Looks like a splice from various videos... i have a 2005 elantra and in the video above, while removing and replacing the pump assembly, the plastic washer deposit looks enormous. wondering what year that is from.

It is slightly helpful. But I have an 08 Hyundai entorage and I can find one video for my exact vehicle to help. So I hope that the vehicles are the same, but it would be nice to see videos on my vehicle because I do run into differences from what I see on the videos and what is exactly on my car
Daughters hose keeps popping off pump.. had it in shop to tighten belts...I believe hose got pinched off when fender well covers put back on. If not this vid will sure come in handy. Thanks.

The Elantra and the optima share the same body so the positioning and part will be the same.

The title says Elantras 92-16 but it's stated in the video and description that this is for 2001-2006. ? And I didn't understand why he took the grommet out. He took it or but immediately replaced it. The whole video was a bit confusing to me.
would this be the same on the Tucson [as the elantra it the car version of the tuscon ] and dose the one unit do both the front and rear because on my car the front works but the rear has packed in ..I notice from ebay the unit looks a little different to the one used on the car dose the unit have two pumps in it ?? I know that older cars had two pumps one for the front and one for the rear but they were physically two pumps not 2 in to 1 {unit } any advice welcome thanks
I have changed the pump on my Tucson and ;;yes;; its almost the same but not as easy .first remove the headlight then {and it helps if you have slim hands] reach down using a long handled screwdriver and gently prise off the whole unit pipes and cable harness can be removed at headlight level .please take your time because if you use too much force you will end up having to remove the bumper .I broke the old unit getting it out but as it was faulty it did not matter .reconnect the pipes and cable then USE SILICON SPRAY on the washer unit bung [this will still be in the washer bottle } don't try to refit without any silicone spray as you will push the bung back in the washer bottle .you will know its ;;home as it almost clicks back into place ..I think I got lucky [for once !] and it all works well and the replacement only cost me 20 pounds from a guy on ebay .good luck .
Hello Sir, I have a problem on my 2005 Accent. Both front & rear windshield washers do not work. I don't hear the pumps work. It seems like a common fuse of both of them that is blown, but I can't find any fuse designated for the pump!
Any idea what could be the problem?

I belong to a Hyundai forum, and you wouldn't believe how many owners of this particular car are out there searching RUclips for instructional videos. And there are far more 2006-2010 Sonata owners out there than Elantra ones due to it's family size. When we find an instructional Sonata video, we like to post it in our forum itself, which brings business to the company that posted the video.
