If you're wondering why the people she interviews, especially here, always seem to have high salaries, it's likely because only people who feel good about how much they make are willing to tell. Someone in this area who makes $43,000 or $38,000 might feel embarrassed and not want to disclose their salary because of the ways in which salary is tied to social status. Even among people who feel OK about how much they make, most won't want to be interviewed about that on camera, especially people 40 and up, who were likely taught that asking or telling salaries is extremely rude. @bluetooth2677 I can only think of four people I've ever had an honest conversation about salaries with in my whole life.
