The Omen 1 was filmed at myEnglish families Home. It was the Guiness Banking Family estate. My Uncle Cyril and Aunt Valerie turned it into a Gentlemens Home / Club. Ther Kids sold it when thier parents passed
Ohh wow. I never cease to be surprised by replies from total strangers to me. Thank you for your time and sharing. i hope someday to fly my drone closer to the house and expand this film a little further. As mentioned, the high outside wall prevents the drone signal and there doesn't seem to be a safe launch site further out to fly it across. All privacy regulations have been adhered to.
great video,.thanks for the hard work, watched the movie last night, as a kid in the 70s I saw only parts of it and the second movie, always had an eerie feeling,...thats good film making,... last night when I saw it, now at 52 yrs old, I have an even better appreciation for the film work,....well done. like Amityville, Excorsist, a foreboding feeling with no CGI involved, a testament to the filmmakers.
It did take a lot of research and planning, thanks. Glad you appreciated it. The movies you mentioned, that entire era, did indeed have that extra quality about them. Everyone knows now that modern horror & sci fi is about CGI. But when models, double exposures etc were employed, it did seem more 'real' rather than 'ohh great programming.' Alien is a perfect example with a 11ft long model of the Nostromo and a real prop bursting through a fake stomach while John Hurt really was there on the table and the actors seeing it all happen in real time.
Excellent job. Excellent film. Shame London has turned into what it is now. Actually, shame the film industry has turned into what it is now. Classic film. Superb comparisons. 👏
Thanks, I didn't know that. In return, I made a short film on the Isle of Wight that briefly included her Spice Girls Bus... ruclips.net/video/c99wkohGmA4/видео.html
Thank you for your comment. I was very respectful when I was filming. I didn't just look upon the site as an 'Omen' film location. I had to rush back to my van though as it started pouring down and I had no coat, got soaked.
Thanks. It took a lot of effort. Pyreford Court was the hardest to obtain... nowhere close to park, no path on the road, my van got stuck in mud a hundred yards away, and just a few square feet next to a road for launching the drone and had overhanging tree branches above. A lady came out and complained about the flight even though I wasn't doing anything illegal. I adhered to all the regulations, had my licence, and didn't break any privacy rules. I just mentioned that I was an 'Omen' fan. She said 'Ohh that one again.' And walked away. She was okay and understanding about it ... I think.
Awesome mate , very relaxing . You thought of doing one for Omen 3 The Final Conflict ? Might be a bit heavy on the petrol bill though as locations range from London to Cornwall to Yorkshire ..
Thanks for your comment. Yes an Omen 3 version would be great. I am retiring in 15 months, I intend to produce more such location movies, your suggestion would be a good one. 'Its a mad mad world' is on my list also... all around the Los Angeles area. I have 'droned' that crazy road at the begining for starters. It starts at Palm desert, NE of LA.
We've (Me and the wife) also visited these locations. We had an assault rifle pointed at us when we reached through the railing bars at the American embassy to snap some pics. Once I showed the soldier and the police our printed out still from The Omen, we were allowed into the gate for 2 minutes to get a few snaps. We also knocked at the Vicarage belonging to the church in Staines, and asked the Vicar if we could look inside the the church, as we love old church architecture. We decided not to tell the truth, that we were fans of The Omen, out of fear he'd tell us NO CHANCE! It was actually he who mentioned The Omen!! LOL *"Hey, you might be interested to know, that this church has been visited by a Hollywood legend, Gregory Peck, when they filmed The Omen here in the 1970s!!"* We had to act and say... *"NO WAY!! SERIOUSLY!!?"* LOL When we met Damien/Harvey Stephens and told him that tale, he laughed and said *"You lied to a Vicar?! oh, you're definitely going to Hell to meet my Dad for that one!!"* He's a great guy who we went for a beer with. We've also met David Warner and Elizabeth Shepherd/Joan Hart from Damien Omen II
Wow! Thanks for all that. Quite a number of memories produced there. I met Harvey Stephens at an autograph event, before I made this film though. I was very tempted to fly the drone in Grosvenor Square, but imagined I would be arrested before I even landed it. I stuck to the regulations.
@@astroroadshow Yeah, given my experience, I think you would definitely be arrested. Harvey's a great guy. I was a boxer when I was younger, and I'm still involved with the sport. I commented to Harvey how looked in good shape. He told me he had been boxing training for a year or two and was a boxing fan. So ge wanted to know about my years in the ring, albeit in the amateur's. I also met David Warner on a couple of occasions. He too was a lovely guy. We talked about a convention panel I'd seen with him and Malcolm McDowell, for their movie, Time after time. And how McDowell was acting like a total d@ck in front of the audience. He also talked about Gregory Peck and what a great guy he was. He actually referred to him as "The Great Man"
This is brilliant. I honestly never thought to check out the filming locations for this film. Such a legendary horror film. Thanks for sharing and keep the filming locations coming. Subscribed
First time I see movie locations for “The Omen” thanks. I watch a lot of movie location videos and this one is my first on this movie. I was ten years old when this movie came out. It sure gave me the jitters. Good selection on the music you used.
Thanks for your comments. You are a similar age to me, I was 13. I do remember the cinema advertising on TV and the then the complaints flowed about its content. Gregory Peck kept reminding everyone it was just a horror movie and not an actual prediction or making any serious religious statement. The complimentary music was produced by a couple of friends of mine. I tried to match the filming tempo / length of shots with the music I already had in mind. The next movie I want to cover is 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind.' That will take a while as it was spread across seven US States from Alabama to Wyoming. Using a drone also gives a unique vantage point that may not have been covered by others.
Does anyone know where's the location where the photographer's decapitation scene was filmed? I know it's definitely in Jerusalem's Old City or something, but which street exactly? I tried to find by Google Maps but all these streets with tunnels look very similar it's so hard to find!!! x(
Great video! 😃👍 I'm curious as to where that park like setting was at the beginning oh the original movie. The scene where Gregory Peck and Lee Remick briefly lost track of Damien? Thought you would know seeing as you've obviously done your homework. Anyway, thanks for posting this interesting video. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦 👍
Nice to hear from you and your interest. The scene you mentioned was in Hyde Park, London. I have actually filmed it and forgot to include it.. drat! I am hoping to gain permission to film inside Pyreford Court and fly the drone around the mansion. It is owned by private residents now, so I'm hoping someone there will sympathise with my aim and help me. If I do manage it, then I will expand this film and include the Hyde Park location too. It is a fantastic movie, great acting, storyline, locations... everything. It was re-made almost identical shot by shot, word for word. I could never see the point in trying to improve on this film; it was the acting that couldn't be improved upon for a start. I also forgot to image the line of conifer trees that the priest ran past. I went there three times (due to rapidly changing bad weather) to gain the aerial shots of the church and ignored the trees. I also want to include interior shots of St Peter's Church: it was closed at the time of my brief visit.
For my dedicated drone sequence of Guildford Cathedral... ruclips.net/video/87EKTKtqA7k/видео.html

Apparently Geri Halliwell of The Spice Girls purchased The Omen home back in 1999/2000. I seen it in the documentary she did.

Vow! What lovely scene depicting West Ministers Bridge or what ?
That's Putney Bridge.
The Brookwood Military Cemetry.
Who are the composers of the music used??
Someone with Rome and Jerusalem locations ?
Israel and Rome locations
If you pay for a trip, I will gladly include footage from there too... lol.
