Thank you nice clear instructions. It's a replacement for my old 12 year old Bosch. No problems with that till the day it died. Hoping this will perform as well. Glad the interior layout is more or less the same. I consider myself pretty good at cramming it all in and it still washes great. When I got my first one, way back, there was a note 'it is not a refuse disposal unit' I took this to heart and always get rid of any bits before putting in the machine.

I had one of these it died in a couple of years, i got another one from another manufacturer it died in a couple of years, i look on RUclips and see people with 40 year old dishwashers and the only thing changed on it that needed replacing in 40 years was the door springs. You couldn't make that shit up. These manufacturers make junk now days.

I would recommend every month or two, it really depends if you clean off your plates first. If you scrape food off first then you won't need to clean the filters so often

I have this exact model and there is a grey circular accessory that has come with it. What is that for? Also, there's a funnel type accessory too, how do I use that?
The funnel is used for filling the salt in the dishwasher to avoid you spilling any. The grey circular accessory is called a large item spray head. The idea is you remove the top basket and place this device on the back wall. It is designed to give you the ability to clean large items like grill racks and oven shelves, and the device with spread the water around the dishwasher helping to get the items clean.
There are no instructions which make sense on how to adjust the rinse aid setting as the layout is generic in the manual. The factory default is 2 and for our Clarke score it should be 0. I followed the instructions but no settings are displayed so it is guess work! Even customer services could not work it out!!
Well my Hotpoint dishwasher has never had a issue with the tablets getting caught between dishes and bowles pans pots cups and others ETC. My Hotpoint 3d zone never fails at cleaning. It is a even better dishwasher than my previous dishwasher being this one in the video. So Hotpoint's all the way bosch is ok but not amazing.

Hold down button > P and press START button until the dry display and salt refill indicator )* flash. 4. Release buttons. 5. Keep pressing button > P until the rinse aid refill indicator )" flashes. The rinse aid refill indicator )" flashes and the displays # and + are lit (= Setting 2). To change the setting: 1. Press the button < H until the required setting has been selected. 2. Press START button h. The displays ` and )" go out. The selected setting is saved. 3. Close the door.
They can be difficult to open until you have your furniture door on the front. I assume you have put the furniture door on, as when it is screwed on, it will make it a lot lighter and easier to open.
I've just had the smv40c30gb /49 installed and cannot work out the instructions at all for operation. Every program I try stays dormant for 10 mins, then cold washes for about 2 mins, then beeps twice and stops?? Can you do a tutorial on how to get the washer actually washing? Or do you have a contact number so I can ask someone who knows how to do this? Thx, Nik.
@@hamzaaliHA I have a new insinkerator and the waste hose was connected to the wrong pipe on it. That pipe had a blanking plate stopping the water flow so the dishwasher kept failing. I just drilled a hole through the plastic plate and works fine now. What you probably have is a blockage somewhere.
In theory you can do, but if you put something in halfway through, then it may have already passed the relevant washing stage. I would normally say with a dishwasher that it is better to not add items, this way you should make sure that everything is cleaned thoroughly

I know it sounds strange but just check the mains socket is working next to the dishwasher, also check the mains lead is pushed fully into the back of the dishwasher.
Total waste of time ... all I wanted to know was 3 steps to operate the Bosch Dishwasher.. it’s like War and Peace ain’t easy.. lesson learned never buy BOSCH,, confusing to say the least,,

That is correct and a lot of people don't install them. We make sure when we install them we always put them into place.

The eco setting should work ok, but just make sure that it has plenty of salt and rinse aid in

The door is stiff on mine, always has been, anyway if slacking it? The handle keeps coming off as it’s that stiff
Normally the door is stiff if the dishwasher is not quite lined up properly, so just check the dishwasher is completely level in the housing.

You have to use Dishwasher salt which is available in any supermarkets, don't use table salt.

Is there power to it? Before the programme starts, you should still be able to see the time of the programme on the display at the top of the door.

If you try the reset option on the top, then switch the machine off then on again and try a different programme hopefully it should work. Good luck

Yes if it has a red light shining on the floor that is the "infolight" feature just showing you it is on and in operation.

Yes quite a few of the cheaper models have the plastic base, it is the higher grade models that have the stainless steel base.
