Good video! BTW, if you're getting lifter noises from your OHC engine then you've got some bizarre "sheet" going on! But noises similar to loose tappets, or a collapsing lifter, could indicate issues around the timing chain, such as the plastic guides are worn out or broken away causing metal to metal contact. Or your chain tensioner is doing nothing because the oil pressure is low. That can be helped by replacing the Ford oil pump with that new, aftermarket unit. Also, you can put some serious lubricant in there, instead of that Prius 0w20 crap! I've run 20w50 in most of my OHC engines for over 40 years, starting with Datsun L16 and Mercedes V8s. VW engines have fine screens hidden all over inside the block, which can impede oil flow (causing the famous "sludge problem" that only happened to people dumping the cheapest crap oil into their turbo-charged engine) so I'd run Mobil 1 10w40 in those. NOTE: I've bought, fixed, modified, driven and sold over 50 cars, and (other than my wife's car) they're normally between 20 and 30 years old. And as reliable as my neighbors' new cars. And nearly always sell them for more than i bought them for! NOTE2: my father and older brother were mechanics. My father flipped around 100 cars a year, buying dead ones for almost free, fixing them and selling them for a couple hundred $$$.
I'd like to see a before/after shot of your intake valves. How often do you do this? I just got my valves walnut shell blasted after 124000 km (after having done nothing to it prior). I'm looking to use CRC or seafoam at 10000 km intervals or oil change to prevent the carbon from caking up like it did before.
I have 85k on my o9 f150 and bout it with 20k. And I never thought to do this I just did my oil but I can just add seafoam right..? Then next time I do my oil I should do it again or just leave it? Thanks my friend
It’s been a while since I put that in the crank case, but yes that’s exactly what you do. You can pour it into the oil or into the fuel… It’s the same stuff. I don’t recall if you’re supposed to do it before or after your oil change. I did what it says on the bottle and somebody in the comments told me that was stupid :-D
You don’t need to do it on every oil change, just periodically. I don’t drive a lot in this truck so the computer just tells me to change the oil every six months. It’s been probably two years since I put that stuff in last.
I’m not a fan of any engine flush including seafoam. If you’re doing it on any modern engine use a vacuum line. On some cars it can be good to pull your upper o2 sensor as well and clean straight into the exhaust.
I know this is old post but make sure you have a clean Air filter and get some electric throttle body cleaner spray then you might still have to reset the electric throttle body memory but it's all cheap and easy to do and makes a big difference in throttle response
You can over pour, it only cleans better in the fuel tank. No need to worry...just pour. Your way to technical. When adding to the crank case, then you should follow the recommendations.
People please note, the Direct Injection issue he keeps referencing is not applicable to the 5.4. The only Direct Injection engines in Fords stable are the EcoBoost engines and the 3rd Gen Coyote 5.0. As a ASE certified technician, i caution the OPs instructions and do more homework for yourself
Excuse my ignorance but if I may ask you, what years did the f-150s start using the 3rd gen 5.0? I have a 2013 F-150 5.0 and I didn't think it was direct inject but now you've got me second guessing.
congratulations....cleaning the intake tract like that without disconnecting the exhaust or using a nitrogen based product just too thousands of miles off the life of your catalytic convertor, there is a reason why you didn't see smoke.
Hopefully you decide to go from 5w 20 to 5w 30 . The 5.4 likes the 30 better and helps with the timing chain and cam phasers.
Make sure you are changing your fuel filter also. A lot of people forget to do that
Yeah its in the fuel tank. Doubt anyone is doing that

Sea foam treatment should be done just before an oil change. As the sea foam works it cleans the carbon which contaminates the oil.

@@halcyonoutlander2105 Is this a joke?
@@halcyonoutlander2105 you probably threw them in backwards.
You have to shell them first silly 🙃 lol

Me adding the whole can of sea foam to the gas tank because they only cost 7$. 😂😂
You spelling "Litre" instead of "Liter" must mean you're in Canada, correct? Great video and thank you
That moment when you get some on your fingers and try to push it in to the throttle body 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I didn’t realize these were DI, no wonder my truck feels so slow at 90k
Nick Dubya 5.4s aren’t di
this dude dont know shit your truck feels slow for other reasons

Good. Fuck the cats.
Tell me you have no idea how a Cat Converter works without telling me you have no idea how a Cat Converter works. Get an education.
You say this on every video. Without any facts to back it up.
lol. No this cleans the cat. People have been doing this specifically to pass emissions and clear a po420 for decades. Clueless comment.
Completely clogged my injectors , so now I'm sitting here with four flats without the spare
Bwajajajajaja
Works great just don’t try it on ecoboost engine’s
whats the issue with ecoboost?
i have a 2013 its dogging bad at 63mp
i was about to try seafoam
I do induction service every oil change on my 2014 3.5, running a full catch can setup also i have had no issues
This shit broke my truck
How is that?
The truck told me not to dump any crap gimmick tricks.... engine oil only!!!!!
Wtf are you talking about?.
@@anthony8787 SAY WHAT!!??
why people insist on using this snake oil is beyond me
People been using this to pass emissions for decades. Works 90% of the time. So it definitely cleans something lol. No arguing that.
