How to change tires by yourself
In this video I show how to change a tire with the car jack and tire iron that came with the car. No fancy shot tools. Just the same stuff you should have with you on the road side.
In this case I'm swapping the summer rims out with the winter rims but it's the same thing if you were putting the spare tire on.
I hope this is helpful. Enjoy!

Honda Fit door lock actuator problem - Part II
Просмотров 7 тыс.Год назад
In this video you'll see me replace the drivers door lock actuator motor in my 2009 Honda Fit Sport. After some testing (and a minor gamble cuz I wasn't certain this was in fact "it") I officially rip my door apart and replace the lock motor to stop the door lock from cycling over-and-over whenever you lock the door. What I'm hearing is that one of the doors can't tell it's locked so it tries t...
Honda Fit door lock actuator problem - Part I
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.Год назад
In this video I take the interior panel off the drivers door on my 2009 Honda Fit. The door locks cycle over-and-over whenever you lock the door. What I'm hearing is that one of the doors can't tell it's locked so it tries to 'fix it'. This happens when the door auto-lock on takeoff or when you lock the doors with the key fob thingy and walk away. I experimented with removing fuses and found th...
How to cut off a ring with a DREMEL
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.Год назад
This video demonstrates how to cut off a ring at home (when you can't get it off any other way) with a DREMEL Multi-Tool. This is, of course, DANGEROUS as you could cut or burn yourself by slipping up or cutting into the metal for too long at a time. Also you could jab yourself with the screwdriver (or other prying tool) if not exercising extreme care and due diligence. If you're clumsy or just...
DIY FlowBee 2.0
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I finally rebuild my original DIY FlowBee which I made out of a cereal box and masking tape. That thing lasted me 10 years!! But I always wanted to "do it right", so here goes! Also, my dinner arrived sooner than expected so I bailed on finishing the beard up properly till later :-D ...it's fine - you get the point of the thing. Enjoy!

This is how to completely disassemble the lid to the 16oz Thermos King Stainless Steel travel mug. Well, I didn't take the screw out of the centre cap but what's the sense in that ?!? The goal here is to properly clean the areas where fluids can get trapped. Enjoy!

Snowblower Gearbox Rebuild - Craftsman 9.5HP 24" 2-stage
Просмотров 12 тыс.4 года назад
It turns out that I've blown out the gearbox on the auger... it wasn't just an issue with the belts. In this video I strip the front end down and replace the worm gear in the gearbox, re-grease it, reassemble it, and put my snowblower back together with the *proper* shear pins. Enjoy!
Snowblower Belt Adjustment - Craftsman 9.5HP 24" 2-stage

Before really breaking this thing down to change the belts, I thought it was worth adjusting the tension. The parts are working, they just slip once I get out in the snow. In this video I show where the necessary adjustments are made and fire it up for the first time this season.
Canadian Tire Rack II
Просмотров 6064 года назад
In this video I rebuilt my tire rack from scratch because my truck tires are *way* taller than the sub-compact tires I originally designed it for. I switched up to 2x6's just to ensure they wouldn't warp over time under the additional weight. Enjoy!
DIY Cyclone Dust Collector II
Просмотров 7264 года назад
The original attempt was a success, but an improvement was necessary. The top bucket would wedge itself quite deeply into the bottom bucket and I needed something to stop it higher up. The 'Router Ring' came to the rescue. After that I attached the original handle to the upper bucket to make it easier and more convenient to separate without having to take the hoses off. Enjoy!
DIY Cyclone Dust Collector

Here's a cheap-and-cheerful design for a cyclone using just two buckets and plumbing attachments. I bought only the two buckets for this project and the rest of the stuff I used was scraps I had laying around. Granted, there are more sophisticated designs on the market but this works pretty well and does precisely what I wanted: it allows me to clean up bulk amounts of sawdust without wasting v...

I wish I would have known that little trick about the reversing the circular piece and pushing that plunger out years ago I've had this cup since like 2008 and I snapped a little Hook off banging the plunger piece against the counter to pop it out thank you for that little trick LOL I still have my cup but it has been through the battle been through the war many dense 98% of the paint is off of it pain in the butt to clean trying to get that plunger out really this thing just blessed my years lol
Hello sir, I have the same craftsman model, which I brought by my neighbor last summer. At that time, he showed me how to start. I'm trying now on my own it won't start. Should I miss something. Can you make a short video and upload how to start? Also, what oil filter and gasoline used for better performance would be very happy if. Thanks -Milap, regards from Toronto
I can't make a video, I'm sorry to say, my snowblower is in storage. There's a few things to consider though. (1) make sure it's ON of course (2) there's a safety switch like a red knob that must be inserted all the way (3) if you didn't drain the carburetor last spring then it’s got bad gas in it. Possibly the jets are blocked if it sat too long. I normally start it with the pull cord but the electric starter would be helpful on the first run of the season. I hope that's helpful!
what do you do when you can't get the screws out of the door, even when using an impactor?
Ooooo yeah, that's tough. They use thread lock and really tighten those down! I'm not a shop mechanic but my dad used to heat them up a bit. Penetrating oil helps too. Also you can hold a screwdriver in place and hammer straight into its head. You need to break the adhesion in the threads. Good luck!
These videos are super helpful however I 2 questions. 1 Did this issue cause the car alarm to go off randomly all the time? My fit has the same lock actuator self correcting issue. Between this and the car alarm the battery dies all the time... 2 How exactly did you figure out the drives side was the one that needed replaced? when all the fuses are simply labeled "door lock"
Hi Yes, the car alarm went off periodically. I think it stopped doing that more recently but this lock-cycling business had been going on for years before I (re)acquired the car. I couldn't work out which one it was for certain. I reasoned that the drivers door was most frequently used and was willing to gamble the $40. The next candidate would be the rear hatch. Worst case scenario: I spend $200 replacing all five actuators which would still be cheaper than having Honda diagnose the issue. I hope that helps!
@@mewoosh yes! thank you. I replaced the rear hatch, latch and handle assembly yesterday (handle was rusted shut). Alarm hasn't gone off yet but it's only been a day so far. the lock actuator issue is still happening and I think im gonna take a swing at the driver side door.
Very helpful video .. thanks for uploading this
You should be using low temperature grease more like Stens 00 grease
Good video! BTW, if you're getting lifter noises from your OHC engine then you've got some bizarre "sheet" going on! But noises similar to loose tappets, or a collapsing lifter, could indicate issues around the timing chain, such as the plastic guides are worn out or broken away causing metal to metal contact. Or your chain tensioner is doing nothing because the oil pressure is low. That can be helped by replacing the Ford oil pump with that new, aftermarket unit. Also, you can put some serious lubricant in there, instead of that Prius 0w20 crap! I've run 20w50 in most of my OHC engines for over 40 years, starting with Datsun L16 and Mercedes V8s. VW engines have fine screens hidden all over inside the block, which can impede oil flow (causing the famous "sludge problem" that only happened to people dumping the cheapest crap oil into their turbo-charged engine) so I'd run Mobil 1 10w40 in those. NOTE: I've bought, fixed, modified, driven and sold over 50 cars, and (other than my wife's car) they're normally between 20 and 30 years old. And as reliable as my neighbors' new cars. And nearly always sell them for more than i bought them for! NOTE2: my father and older brother were mechanics. My father flipped around 100 cars a year, buying dead ones for almost free, fixing them and selling them for a couple hundred $$$.
Thanks for this video man! Had to clean the lid and this video was perfect
Getting the rod off was definitely the hardest part. I wonder if the head of the rod is bigger on some models making it more difficult to dislodge. I stuck long needle nose pliers between the door frame and where the window lowers and rested on tip on the head of the rod and the other tip on the back of the black plastic part that surrounds the rod and latch. I slowly squeezed until the rod popped out. I also put electrical tape on one end of my pliers to prevent too damage to the part that was resting on the black plastic. Thanks for this video, it was very helpful and probably saved me a ton of money!
Thanks very much from.south korea !!
So glad I could be of help! I wish you all the best!
Very helpful. Mine wasn't sealing right and now it is. Thank you.
How did you determine which actuator was the issue? I have the same problem you had, one of the actuators keeps triggering the drivers door lock but it never locks?
IDK how you figured this out but U R genius!! I never thought of cleaning these parts but now after just few months, it started to fall apart by itself so I was aware I'll have to understand how it works. So, thank you! Btw, I was surprised how sensitive is this strong looking cup. I'm using it actively maybe half a year and it already has a dent on the base and some decolorifications.
Rumour has it he still had 2 toes left
That yellow piece at the beginning is going to be the death of me
Maybe you mentioned this but where did you buy the actuator? I always use rock auto to buy parts but they don't carry it. And thanks for the video!!
Hi can you help me about this thermos? It's not opening when drinking in the lid
That’s the dumbest video ever.. who can’t remove blinds.. show how to remove the clip..
Thank you
All this you added a vacuum cleaner attachment to your clippers not actually a flow because of flowy had a lot of different links I'm going to have to look at the real flow being designed when myself I guess yes it'll probably made out of cardboard at first but your ideal does keep things clean and that's what you were going for
The modified but more because I want to be able to cut my hair 4 in long or 6 in long or something like that I used the biggest one they have and it's still too short for me for me it still cut my hair too short and I hate trimming my beard because it makes it itch terribly my barber retired at the end of the pandemic cuz he finally got covid and I've unprofessional haircut since he retired I never could find anybody else that would do it right everybody else would trim my bid badly and it would itch like hell he would trim my beard with scissors and it wouldn't itch cut my hair myself was just the longest come I can put on it hanging upside down outside but that's still not long enough for me because of I had one for the dog that was like a floating you could just how long you wanted it up to many inches long then I was actually giving the dog a haircut it was so hot and my hair is so long and I was
all the pretty colours your finger turns. yikes! i still think ima gonna do this.
Thank you for the no bs video. Quick easy and. Straight to the point. Great job my man
Good video, 👍
Very good video, except for a few clarifications, as I just did this repair this morning (5/21/24) and it took about 1-1/2 hours with 2 persons: 1) Make sure your window is in the up position before you begin; 2) Be sure you have Japanese metric #3 Phillips head screw drivers as the American versions do not fit correctly in the screw heads; and 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY, all the videos about this repair skip over the difficulty of removing the 3 screws that hold the door latch in place. YOU MUST USE A IMPACT SCREW DRIVER WITH THE CORRECT BIT and even then, you may strip the screws! Use some kind of "liquid wrench" on these screws before even starting. We used an old time manual impact screw driver with a mallet and it took sometime to get the screws loose and out. We even had to use a small torch to heat up the screws to get them to loosen up enough to remove. Finally, be sure to use official Honda parts as the aftermarket stuff (from China) is crap and will not last long, if at all. Also be sure to include the foam tape in your parts list as you will NOT be able to reuse the existing foam on the old assembly. Good luck. It is worth the effort as your local Honda dealer will charge you $1,200-1,800 for this repair. The parts from Honda are about $330 as of May 2024.
A big thank you for your valuable time to help your fellow citizens. Your shared additional info is extremely helpful.
Great video! Thanks, Anyone had the problem with the steel ring around that top part gone loose or slippery and spinning when trying to open it?
How to adapt cassette toilet to hose for dumping
Best video. Found your video after watching a useful one previously and yours is what I call a disassembly. Not those that only done half way. Most important is the middle section! Thanks much
Did you go OEM or aftermarket on the replacement actuator?
I went to go look if the OEM part has weatherstripping and it also does not. Additionally, the replacement Honda part is made in China, not Japan. Not sure if OEM is worth 13x the expense. Hoping the one I ordered solves my door lock issues.
Gracias !!!
Great video, very informative, helped me when I changed mine. I agree, DO NOT FLUSH OUT your trans (esp. on cars with higher miles, 100k+). And agree, all trans repair places will do is drain half the fluid & refill. In older days, trans repair shops would, drain, remove pan, replace filter & reinstall pan with new gasket, no more. One helpful hint I can pass along is to use a breaker bar (or longer socket wrench handle) with your socket when loosening the drain bolt, as they can be quite hard to loosen if it has been awhile since last removed. Plus, if doing this while on the ground, under your car, you dont have enough room to get enough leverage on the bolt to loosen it. Using a longer handle makes it 100% easier. You can move the World with the right leverage!!
At first I thought this was corny but a good idea. Well I did it and this is a great idea. Thank you for this wonderful post.
I hate this toilet. I'm about to be on our 4th valve replacement. Continues to develop a leak in the valve. Probably just going to upgrade to a better toilet.
Hopefully you decide to go from 5w 20 to 5w 30 . The 5.4 likes the 30 better and helps with the timing chain and cam phasers.
Video does not show taking off the valve and also talking about where things actually leak. It could be the connections on the water lines and not on the valve as was the case with mine. Also, find someone or something to hold the camera so you can use two hands.
Thanks for posting this. I broke my finger yesterday I have tried everything. The fire department and urgent care have both refused to help me. I assume I could have made it work but you have some good tips here. My wedding band is stainless steel of course. Wish me luck boys
How did it go?
@@KnightoftheLord1 it worked perfectly. My wife helped. We took a cardboard type emery board and wet it really well then shoved it under the ring (my finger was extremely swollen) We already had several kits of dremel tips so we used the one rated for stainless steel. I used an ice cube to cool the ring off, it only got super hot a couple times. We had to make two cuts but we did it in less than an hour. It was way easier and less painful than I expected. I'm still astonished that the fire department refused to help me but it worked out fine. I'm convinced this method would work with a dremel tip that's not intended to cut steel, it will probably just take longer
@@DJ_Narcan Glad you managed it. :) You'd think the emergency services would cut it off for you if you had a broken finger? Sucks that they didn't. Maybe a softer metal for the next ring like gold or silver would be safer in case you need to cut it off again?
@@KnightoftheLord1 Thanks. Yeah I have a gold ring coming as we speak. The fire department said they only respond to emergencies. I stopped by a fire department by my house and they said "we don't do that" Idk
I've had this mug for several years, and thought I knew how to disassemble it fully, turns out I was missing that last step! Was pretty nasty inside. Thanks!
Thanks this video help my husband fix my doors. Did two in 1 hr😊... hi from tx
Excellent video. My lid quit working. Had it fixed within minutes of watching. Thanks
ohh I came here by the same reason! Hope, I'll be as resultive as you
I had a problem with my fit locks and your video was helpful because it convinced me to take the easy “hack” way out of my situation. I thought you might like it ruclips.net/video/qZkwakQ3_Wo/видео.htmlsi=O5l0KkyiB_vzpH25
Not a bad implementation. I mean the idea is low hanging fruit. Anyone who's cut hair in their bathroom has thought about something like this. When I was a kid my mom would have me hold the vacuum and follow her with the clippers when she cut my hair. But I wouldn't call this Flowbee 2.0. The flowy works a lot different and has a system for cutting different hairstyles. While this is standard hair clippers The feature you added is that you don't have to spend as much time cleaning up. But I believe the way you have designed the attachment if you look at how the flowbee works and what it does different you could implement it
Thanks 👍🏼
I think you got pretty lucky that the augers didn’t seize to the shaft. I see many that way, then it doesn’t matter what you use in place of a shear pin. it also adds a couple hours to this project.
I've got one side seized to the shaft like you mentioned. Any recommendations? The pin is stuck too
You’d need to first remove the auger from the blower. I would remove everything out of the free side ( after taking off the free auger make sure you clean the shaft surface) coat the seized side in penetrant from all angles. Let sit For a few hours and apply more then Put the open shaft in a vice. You will need to take the shear pin out first. Probably will need to hammer it out. once the shear pin is out you can try to twist the auger against the shaft. If it’s not budging you will need to add heat.
Great video thank you!! Whenever lock the car and walk away. Door tries to lock itself( cycle). Which is causing my aftermarket car alarm to go off.
Do you have to do this every time you wash the cup?? Thanks
This is by far the best and most descriptive video on making this replacement happen. I just finished mine outside in 38 degree weather. The door handle connecting rod was the biggest issue for me. I needed to use needlenose pliers to pop the rod out through the hole on the handle.
Appreciate your video, but I would have liked to have seen the full process without a lot of things being edited out, even if the the video was much longer. It's the small things that matter to me as a DIY'r, not just the highlights and main points, and if you show the whole process without many cuts, we can see what we need to see (such as replacing the toilet flange, etc.). It's especially useful to see difficulties and problems with the process that you might have had. Please don't sanitize your videos like most people do. Thanks.
Fa real …
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much dude!!!❤
So. Did you figure out that wood dosen't rust yet?
I had to do this today i burnt myself tho a little had to make 2 cuts tho
