Thanks for the honest opinions
Tks for the information!
Compare the 100s of Yonex. Ezone, Vcore and Percept. Even add the Astrel for a complete comparison!
I’ll have to decide this versus the Ultra versus the pure drive
Hello there,
After hitting with both, personally I would go with the PD 98. I was very impressed with the changes they made this year i think the 16x20 was one of the main things thats drew me into this racquet. I absolutely love that string pattern and what it does to the ball. - Richard
Is there a significant power difference between the 98 and 100? And which model do you prefer?
Slightly more power, but the main distinction is forgiveness on the 100 as it's just bigger.
EZ98 is not forgiving at all. Great offensive weapon tho
How is this possible that unstrung weight is the same and strung 3gramm diffrent. Is the sting pattern that different ? Or you strung them with different string?
Thats a good question!
I think it is simply an infographics mistake
One of the guys from PH (tennis) seemed to infer that the Ezone 100 8th gen was quite a bit more powerful than the seventh gen ezone. What do you guys think?
one of the videos says the racket feels stiffer than the 7th gen. maybe thats where the power comes from?
@ Yes, that’s very possible; the stiffness would add power. The question is, is it controllable power? I can’t wait to demo!
Great Video
String tension please?
Hello Awa,
We would have tested all of our racquets strung at 51lbs - Richard
Yonex claims the v 8 has 4.9% more power than the v 7. Although they both have a 67 stiffness. Do you agree with this?
Hello Joseph,
Yes I do find that the Gen 8 is more powerful than the gen 7. with stiffness aside there is a different spacing and technology in the hood that does allow for more power generation. - Richard
They should phase out VDM. Servo filter is an upgrade on that technology. VDM is too muted and mushy feeling.
Thanks for the video! You mentioned the launch angle is lower on the new EZone, what could you do with the strings to increase the launch angle?
eg, smaller string gauge and/or lower string tension
How does it compare to the DR100?
Hello Phoniq,
In my opinion it did remind me a little bit of the DR. I felt that with higher swing speeds on ground strokes, that the flex of the racquet was closer to the throat area which reminded me of the DR when I used to play with one. It still has the feel of great stability in the hood but had a little bit of recoil helping me generate some extra power. - Richard
@@RacquetGuys That sounds pretty good. Appreciate the follow up. I'll have to demo the stick. Cheers
The feel is quite different tho. DR100 is so crisp. Both of these ezone uses VDM to dampen the feel
@@ROSEMARY-gl7wx does the new tech feel good?
@@Phoniq dampened. Depend on what string you’re using
