He found out, yet still let them go. If only we got some kind of one-off FX special to see what happens to the Jennings kids and whether Philip or Elizabeth return to the US somehow to fulfill another mission.
@@partyguy101ify Yes I know, as it was a massive cat-and-mouse game for 6 seasons between this couple and their neighbor. Stan invading their house during the pilot episode also served as a mega teaser where Philip had a gun ready to use on his neighbor, as garage doors must've been easy to hack for FBI agents during the early 1980s.
They could’ve played into the emotions part of this by having Stan & Philip do a stare down with the latter being reluctant to run over his best friend.
The whole point of the show is that they’re hiding in plain sight and their friend is an FBI guy who lives literally across the street, so there’s no way they would’ve done that in the first season.
I just noticed that they seem to be driving a rear wheel car. I wonder if such a vehicle is necessary for some it the stunts they perform, like that fancy J turn
I love how Stan was that close to finding out about the Jennings.
I just watched the series finale two nights ago. Oh my God when Stan finds them at the end, it’s just almost too hard to watch.
I kinda wish in that final conversation Elizabeth was like "look Stan, I didn't hold it against you that time you shot me."

@@rlouie05 I meant that Stan almost found out in this scene.

Pretty crazy this was the closest Stan got to uncovering their identity until the last season.
Smart, very smart. Let the rear take the damage, not your engine, steering, radiator etc.
Great climatic scene to finish the 1st season!
Stan just had to jinx it
1:21 the moment Stan lands a hit on Elizabeth
One hell of a tv show.
Driving skills saves lives
Being skilled in all sorts of skills that work when you need them to is also very underrated too.
@@rlouie05Philip is the best!!!
He has lot of skills
Thank you for uploading these clips. Classic tv show and now i want to rewatch asap
The best ever series I've ever best seen in my best ever television watching life .
one of the best The Americans scenes
This episode is one of the best in the series. Season 1 is underrated by fans IMO.

They weren’t best friends yet
That's dumb. Why would the directors have Stan know about their identities so early into the series?

Chevy Chevelle???!!!
The mean-looking brown coupe is a 1976 Chevrolet Nova.
This was completely unnecessary he could have just drove by calmly and shouted to her to abort.
Yeah, I'm sure nobody else would've heard him literally shouting at her to abort the mission with FBI agents watching them
