We forgot to say that when using the inverter we unplug the battery charger under the bed, otherwise it thinks you’re on 240 power and keeps running, which will drain the batteries 😊🤩
Kinda scary to see the 240 volt cable hard up against the metal chassis, I'd recommend that you definitely use some convoluted conduit around it. We just took delivery of our new Jayco Journey Outback 16.51-3 last week and they now comply with the new requirements coming in next month that the batteries are located outside of the van. Our two 120Ah lithiums are in battery boxes attached to the chassis on the driver's side, and I saw today I could attach one or two more on the passenger side too for a total of at least 360Ah and maybe 480Ah. I had three 200w solar panels fitted before taking delivery, and definitely want to upgrade to a 3000w inverter. However, I'll get it all done by an auto elec and an electrician as these days I pay the professionals to do it right. An auto elec should flatly refuse to touch any 240V stuff unless they are also licensed for that.
Thank you for your advice. We did have it all checked by a licensed auto electrician and they said it was all good but maybe we will do what you suggested with conduit. As it’s a 2021 model it came with the batteries already under the bed. Thanks 😊
@scottspitty8283 we did have it checked at the time by a registered auto electrician and he said it was fine but that was over a year ago, maybe I will get it rechecked, thanks 😊
There is no way I am going to put lithium batteries under my bed. Have you seen what they do if you get a thermal runaway. This is why they mount the batteries outside the vans now.

Nice one 👍 loved the 240v setup

Thank you so much, really appreciate it 😍

Hi how many battery s do you have and amps also how many solar panels and total watts thanx Mark
Hi, we have 2X 160w solar panels on the roof of the caravan and 2X 200 lithium batteries. We do have a solar blanket 160w 👍
Noice - One Day.....
You will, thanks for watching 😍
I just want to confirm an auto elec has signed off on that?
We got it checked over by an auto electrician but that was over a year ago, things may have changed since. Check with your local auto electrician 👍😊
Yeah I just see some earthing issues but I guess if it’s worked for a year you can be fairly confident your van isn’t going to burn down.
@1cc1adventures66 we haven’t had any issues but we will get it checked, thanks
You might want to get that 240v invertor wiring checked by a licensed Electrician. I'm pretty sure you need a RCD/RVD

Ours already came with them under the bed as it’s a 2021 model
