    Wow Claudia, I really enjoyed her interview. She is right on the money on everything!!!! About 5 years ago I started using tretinoin .50% and it saved my skin. I used to have sensitive, thin skin and rosacea outbreaks. No more. My skin is stronger and much healthy to the point that I use glycolic acid weekly at 10% with no issues. Would you please, please, please bring her back and convince her to find out more about estrogen for face with other companies that have good products. I know you did an awesome research and I did tried what your research suggested mixing it with acids etc continuously but it was definitely too much for my skin. She explained things so simple and honest which much of it I have heard before but it was a great validation that less is more!!! I really appreciate your hard work and helping us find simple solutions and education on aging gracefully!

      Hi Annie, thank you for your kind comment. Yes, I will def. ask Dr Ania to come back and I will also ask her to do more research on estrogen creams.
      I think mixing it with glycolic daily is a lot. I can not handle that either, though I am trying to work my way up to it.

    I was surprised by this doctor's vision regarding chemical sunscreens, since it is true that they go into the bloodstream but everything we use, ingest or put in our body goes into the bloodstream but that does not mean that it is toxic. It is also well known that chemical sunscreens offer much greater protection against UVA rays which are what age the skin. By the way, you look great Claudia!!! 😉

    I'm so glad to see Dr. Ania here! I love her channel and was binge watching her last night. She is such an amazing educator and makes everything so easy to understand. Thank you for saying this, Claudia, love to hear it! I've been subscribed to Stephanie's channel for a few years, but hadn't seen her talk about that. I always see the super popular derms and estheticians with huge channels here on RUclips totally condemning physical scrubs.
      I have normal to slightly sensitive skin type, but if I use a chemical exfoliant, even if it's in a cleanser and in contact with my skin for under one minute, I get redness, dryness, tightness and a rough feeling that lasts for days. I've been using scrubs once or twice a week since I was 14 and the ultra smooth glass like effect they give is amazing! Never had one problem with them.

I feel I have wasted so much money on growth factors and they really do the same as peptides that have good delivery systems. Excellent interview Claudia! Thank you so much for this. I’m really curious what she might think of The Ordinary products. They are low cost but SEEM high quality. I use their vitamin C powder that I mix with their amino acid+B5 serum. Since it’s a powder I think there is no way for it to oxidize. They also have their multi-peptide with copper serum which is less expensive than other brands. It SEEMS good, but now after what she said I question whether it’s getting into my skin… Anyway, thanks so much for this excellent interview!

    Although many people like Dr Ania use only mineral sunscreens because of the possible health effects of chemical sunscreens I can"t use them. My type 1 rosacea hates them, especially the ones that contain butyoctyl salicylate in the "inactive ingredients", which is most of them, including Colorscience which Dr Ania uses. But even the ones without that ingredient still flare my Rosacea horribly. My skin just doesn't like zinc or titanium dioxide. I'm in the US and I can't use US chemical sunscreens either. My skin will only tolerate the newer Korean or Japanese chemical sunscreen filters. So for me it's those chemical sunscreens or no sunscreen at all. So comments like Dr Ania's about chemical sunscreens always start me worrying about my only being able to use chemical sunscreens. What do you think Claudia? I saw you did a video about Korean chemical sunscreens.

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  10 месяцев назад

      Hi, that is so interesting. When I had rosacea, I could only use zinc sunscreens. But that was before Korean sunscreens.
      You know, I think that using any sunscreen is better than none. The risk of skin cancer and premature aging is a real one and with rosacea you have to protect your face from the sun. If that means you use chemical spf, in my opinion, that is totally ok. Absorption does not equal risk, meaning just because we can find traces of chemical spf in urine means it is toxic. We can find traces of just about anything we ingest in urine and it means nothing.
      While I agree with Dr Ania that it is best to air on the site of caution, again, I think the risk of developing skin cancer or getting sun damage is higher than the possible risk of chemical spf's being harmful. Personally I use both. But lately I have been using mostley Korean spf's, since they are so cosmetically elegant. I keep trying to find a mineral spf that is able to match that, but have not had luck.

      @@claudiaglows Thanks so much for replying Claudia! I agree with you, any sunscreen is better than none. I just have to stop worrying about using chemical sunscreen. I just remembered a couple of things Dr. Dray said a while back. I'm pretty sure she said that the trace amounts of chemical sunscreen found in the urine were in people who used the full body amount of chemical sunscreen head to toe, reapplying every two hours. Most people don't need sunscreen head to toe every two hours every day. I only use the chemical sunscreen on my face and neck. I can use mineral everywhere but my face and neck. Also, I read somewhere that preliminary testing has so far shown that the newer filters in Asian sunscreens might not absorb systemically as much as the old filters do. I hope that proves to be true! I think the reason mineral sunscreens bother my Rosacea is they are all so heavy on the skin, no matter how "lightweight" the formula is. Dr Dray also said that some people's Rosacea is flared by heavy products. I think that's my problem. I wouldn't wear makeup for that reason because I can't stand the way it feels on my skin. Plus I just don't like wearing makeup anyway, even if I could, and mineral sunscreens look and feel like makeup to me. Thanks again Claudia. You're so lovely and your videos are so helpful!

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  10 месяцев назад

      You know, many mineral spf's now use nano particles to make them less thick. In the US, companies do not need to disclose if they use nano particles, so it is hard to know. And those are also absorbed.
      So many mineral spf's are not necessarily better than chemical ones.
      And hopefully the new chemical filters, as you said, are being absorbed less.
      Wishing you a lovely weekend. Thank you for your kind words

    Hi Claudia, thank you so much for your videos, I learned a lot from you.
    4 years ago I had fillers in my face a few times. Not only they looked unnatural, but after having some disolved I started experiencing many symptoms: skin thinning all over my body, loss of volume on my hands, feet, neck and knees, crepey skin, burning sensation in my whole body, joint pain and others. The symptoms continue to this day and my body feels like is melting. Is scary and I don't even want to think what is happening on the inside. I still have filler in my face that migrated and it looks bad, but I don't want to risk disolving it. But what if my body is reacting to the filler?
    I went back to the injectors who said is not because of the injections. I went to lots of doctors, a dermatologist said the skin on my legs looks like someone in their late 50s who is diabetic. It was so upsetting to hear, but at least someone recognised something is happening.
    There are many women experiencing similar symptoms, without having found a cure.
    I am in a lot of pain physically and emotionally, I am not able to look in the mirror.
    I am doing a lot to heal: I take supplements, I go to the gym almost every day, I use retin A on my whole body and more. My muscles have been affected too.
    I don't know what else to do to stop this substances melting my body. I am 39 and up to 4 years ago I looked 10 years younger. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I do everything right, yet this is something I cannot control.
    Any suggestions are appreciated ❤

      Yes, some have reacted to fillers too, not only the hyaluronidase. I don't know if any of the experts you have interviewed are aware of any treatments. Most injectors won't recognise the potential danger of these substances for some people (many women don't have any reactions) because they represent a big part of their offerings ❤

    I’m very confused. I for years didnt use sunscreen because I didn’t trust that it wasn’t absorbing into the skin and causing physical health risks. Now you have confirmed this is true. Is this only with a chemical sunscreen? Does a physical sunscreen sit on top of the skin? And a chemical infiltrates into the system? Please clarify

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  10 месяцев назад

      Yes, technically physical sunscreen sits on top of the skin, as zinc and titanium particles are too big to be absorbed
      However, nano particles might still be absorbed and many companies do not disclose the use of nano particles.
      However I, absorption does not equal risk. We have found chemical sun filters in urine or breast milk, but we do not know for certain what risk this absorption brings with it
      If you want to be certain tough, you could only non nano zinc oxide sunscreen without the addition of chemical filters.

    When someone talks about sunnscreens they need to specify - mineral and chemical sunscreen is a US classification. The uv filters that are. used in Europe and Asia are the newer generation and they are MIXED filters (neither truly physical nor chemical) - more stable, safe, and reliable than whatever is used in the US. Here it was. not clear which filters she is talking about, I assume the outdated useless and harmful chemical filters still used in the US products.

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  9 месяцев назад

      You are correct, there are many different new filters used in Europe, Asia and Australia now. Since Dr Ania is in the US, she is speaking about US filters

      Hi Florian, yes you can absolutely use tretinoin on your upper lip
      Those lines are a bit hard to get rid of, as they are expression lines, so we create them every time we speak or smile, but the tretinoin can help soften them

    does anyone know an alternative to retinols, i was using tret 0.025% for nearly 3 years but NO-ONE ever talks about long term side effects like MGD and dry eye disease, Is getting green peels and microneedling a good investment instead of retinol

      Hi, I hope Dr Ania what time in as well. I am definitely a big fan of microneedling. But I am honestly not sure it will replace a retinoid. Have you tried retinol? It might be less irritating for you.
      I’m not sure with a green is, but just like microneedling, I do think an occasional peel. It’s not a bad idea, go in my opinion they still don’t replace the regular use of retinoids

    Hi Claudia ! I really enjoyed that video and am now following Dr . Ania . I always exfoliated physical and when I started hearing negative opinions regarding it I stopped . Upon hearing her opinion on it I’m going right back to it ! I always did my own glycolic peels myself and when I start to peel I helped it along with the exfoliation and my skin was like glass . I’m surprised to hear her opinion on the stem cells and I think when I use mine up I may not repurchase . What do you think ? I know your a big fan of them . I still want to get the estriol cream made . what % did you say is good ? 1 % or 3%. Thank you for introducing her to us on your Chanel , I just loved her .. and you !🩵💜

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  10 месяцев назад

      Hi gorgeous, glad to hear you loved Dr Ania as well.
      Isn't it interesting, there are so many doctors who are against physical exfoliation, but I think we just need to listen to our skin and if it works well for you, then I would go for it.
      As far as growth factors, I think that there are some that are worthwhile, such as Neogenisis. But I think from now on it will be something I will rotate in and out of my routine instead of always using it, since they are pricey.
      The estrogen cream needs to be either 0.1% estradiol or 3% estriol
      Lots of love to you and a wonderful week
