Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. They are very helpful and reassuring that you, the car owner can detail your car without spending an arm and a leg. Maybe it’s me but that car mat being through a tough Canadian winter seemed to clean up rather easily and the soap did not appear to be dirty at all.
Mats aren’t as big as a vehicle lol. And if you put a dressing on them it makes cleaning easy. Just be careful to not apply anything too slippery. I simplfied the cleaning process from now with one single product in my updated tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/axG31w_Mw1c/видео.html
Looks great Pan...I find the trim shine product leaves the mats dangerously slippery even after wiping the product down with a microfibre towel. I used to do my mats the exact same way but was getting to many complaints from our clients on the slipperiness of the mats so ended up skipping the trim shine. They lack the deep black shine but end result is they are much safer.
I've used 303 protectant in the past and had a similar experience. I tried spraying a little on a damp microfiber rag (rather than the mat itself) and rubbing it into the mat just enough to take that dry look away. Seemed to be much more tolerable and not nearly as slippery.
Same issue. If you get the sprayable (not aerosol) Trim Shine and heavily dilute it, or I've done the same with Chemical Guys VRP (also "water based") it works better to just give it a little coating but not slippery, but it's barely noticable in terms of appearance so I just skip dressing them. I'm using 3D floor liners now with a textured finish, and they look better than Weathertech/Husky without any dressing on them, just keep them clean.
Love the 3D floor liners! I bought a set of those for my other half's truck and they look awesome. Unfortunately they don't make them for my car. WeatherTech it is... 😞
I don't apply any dressing at all to ANY driver side mats and explain why to the customers, they are always appreciative that I'm looking out for them.

Pan, always have a great time watching and learning from you. I have a set of the same Weather Tech floor liners in my 2017 Lincoln MKC, and use Purple Power 4 to 1 with water. But I used Mother's VLR, which made the surface slippery, :(, so now I know better and will be picking up some Trim Shine from Stoner. Thanks so much!
Used this exact methoid today on my OEM rubber floor mats. I have used P&S Natural finish on my mats before, but it's a bit slick on them. Used Trim and shine this time. Headed out to see if they are slick at now that all is dry. they looked good after applying the Trim and shine, so if they are not slick, it iwll be my go-to finisher from now on. thanks for the video!

Thank you for this Pan, I’ve always struggled to get rubber mats looking good!, for this reason I changed to carpet ones, mmm maybe now is time to dig them out of the cupboard and try your technique on them x.
A tip from a dad with messy kids and floor mats with a years worth of caked on junk. Just drive to nearby self-service car wash with clamps on wall for floor mats and have at them with the power wash. Easy peasy
When they are a bit older they often come up looking white after they have been washed and dried. I use Aeropsace 303 to restore the dark colour. Seems to work well!
i love the unintentional/intentional ASMR of the cleaning... more of those please :D great tutorial will check out those tools and give this a try when spring rolls along ;D thanks Pan!
Pan, I will tell you 100% that this is my first comment on any RUclips channel, video, etc. I have been watching your videos nonstop for the past two months since purchasing my mk7.5 GTI. I realized we are about the same age and have very similar tastes in cars, etc after watching your life story video. I also love detailing cars and have had the bug not as long as you but since about 2002. I watch your videos mainly to get insight on products so naturally RUclips will have your other related videos ready to click after. I decided to comment and write this dissertation because you probably saved me about a half hour of time in my detail regimen due to this video. I almost always wash my floor mats very car wash/detail but I use my soap water after the vehicle wash or I used to do them with wash water before the wheels. Anyways it takes a lot of time to soak, scrub with lots of suds from the wash water, rinse off every bit of soap that gets all over the back of the mats also, then wait to air dry and put back in the car. Never thought in all my detailing years to just use an APC like Meguiars which I have and do like you just did and not have all that soap to rinse off on the back side where it stays clean anyway. Duh!!! You rock dude!!!! Thanks. Like I said I never comment but do read through others comments. So hopefully you can give a shout back!! And if ever in the Northern Virginia area give a shout. Peace!!
Cool! Thanks for the feedback. You should comment more often! I'm glad my videos make people learn new tips and tricks, even if they have been detailing for decades. We always continue to learn new things in life, myself included. :) How did you discover my channel by the way?
I soak my car's rubber mats in vinegar and baking soda solution for 5 mins then brush it. Wash it off with warm water and let air dry. After they are dried up, they look almost new.
Nice video. I usually use a bit of tire foam on my weathertech mats and they look fantastic, but slightly slippery. I’ve never tried Trim Shine but I’ll give it a shot, thanks.
Probably the easiest instructions you've ever done and then get all these negative comments... Just follow the basic instructions and your mats will be cleaner...Pan, are you left handed??? Thanks for the video....
I doubt that it would work as well if executed executed elsewhere than a "Canadian Winter", even if several Mounties performed the elaborate procedure (chemicals included). Winters are vastly different in the USA, as you know? lol. Your intense step one effort was all I needed to get the job back to original condition. My wife would be reviving me with a call to 911 if I advanced on to Step two. Hark, my hockey puck is call me! (Just messing with you, Pan!) You presented an impeccable video, so, as word of encouragement, keep up the magnificent job you are doing. I couldn't do what you do on RUclips, although I wish I could. May the love of Jesus the Christ continue to abide in you as you endeavor to help people like me!
I knock the finish down with a microfiber towel. It works for me. For sure it’s a bit more slippery than with no dressing, but test it in an inconspicuous area first.
Awesome advice on cleaning the mats. Michigan is brutal on the interior as well, just like Montreal! Mat looked great when you were finished. Keep up the great work Pan!
This is almost exactly how I clean rubber floor mats! The only difference is I use a tornador. Super Clean is such a great multi use product and cheap. Thanks Pan
Thanks!! I might have to get a Tornador one day. What air compressor do you use with it? I'd want something super compact yet powerful enough. I don't have any other air tools.
Pan TheOrganizer I have a 60 gallon so definitely not compact. I think the smallest you would want to go would be a 30 gallon. The tornador uses a lot of air and would make the 30 run a lot while using it. It is a great tool to have though.
Thank you Pan for another great video, I’ve learned a tremendous amount just watching your videos. I would like to know what water hose nozzle that is for the reason of that I like how it sprays a wide fan pattern.
Thanks for the response Pan! I’m fixing to do a paint correction and ceramic coating on my older Ford Mustang and hopefully just a paint enhancement then ceramic coating on my new Chevrolet Silverado. I’d like to see a video on how you do regular maintenance washes after ceramic coatings. Keep up the good work sir, your passion for detailing really shows!!
Awesome video Pan!! I’ll have to try that Stoner trim shine on my Weather Techs next time. Clean greasy rubber mats are a nightmare. Thanks for the tip 👍👍
How about a spray bottle that works with an iron remover? I know some spray bottles have metal parts that cause all the solution to turn purple. I haven’t been able to find a spray bottle I can use to fill my gyeon iron remover with
Any good spray bottle will do. Gyeon Iron and CarPro IronX come in pretty standard bottles with normal trigger sprayers... Nothing special and they always work. For iron removers, I just use the bottles the products come with.@@ekaker
I wouldn’t mind using theirs, only thing is I didn’t buy it with the spray bottle because I bought the 4000ml version knowing I would be using a lot of it. I did buy a standard one thinking it would be fine, I filled it up 3/4 and after I used it once, I saw it a few days later and noticed all the liquid turned from clear to purple
Pan TheOrganizer I discovered your channel by searching car detailing. Your videos are awesome and provide step-by-step instructions on everything car related. I wish I can convert my garage to look like yours. I’ve always took pride in my vehicles. Since watching your videos I’ve learned a lot and can’t wait until the weather breaks to do my car. Question: the dryer you use on the mats...i see it’s powered electrically but is that compressed air in the can?
Bought my Weathertech floorlines a month ago and needed to clean them by now so i bought some CG floor mat cleaner and it sucked, dried up my mats and it supposedly it advertises cleans and protects, this video came in clutch allways falling in your channel for specific techniques 👍🏻
Thanks Marcel. I will have an updated tutorial for this coming soon on my channel, as I recently discovered a new product that does cleaning and rejuvenating in one product! Leaves a nice OEM finish, and doesn't make the surface slippery. Here: amzn.to/3hSFnDl
We're glad to hear you like Trim Shine! If you haven't tried it, Stoner makes a Trim Cleaner which should do a good job cleaning floor mats like that. Keep up the good work, Pan!
I do the same thing but I use Adams Tire and Rubber Cleaner. I use interior detailer to finish (like Adams Interior Detailer or Nextzett Cockpit) because there’s no slippery surface then. Thanks for the video Pan!
You guys, RELAX! He's just showing you how... use your imagination and pretend he's cleaning the dirty one. Better yet, go clean your own. Lol. You're the man, Pan!
I appreciate the support! I have been detailing cars for over 21 years now and l love sharing my passion and knowledge with my viewers. My channel has quickly become one of the biggest car detailing channels on RUclips with 250,000 subscribers and almost 26 million views so far. Good clip. A few rugged macho men (apparently) commented that the mat wasn’t that dirty. What? Imagine, if you dare, what these cretins consider dirty. Or worse.......clean. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the tips Pan. Since leaving NYC last year, I’m glad to report I won’t be needing this in South Florida. How about a video to best protect cars’ exterior and interior from UV rays? Thanks!
Thanks Bryan! For uv protection, nothing beats a ceramic coating. Did you watch my ceramic coating tutorial? Here: ruclips.net/video/byKcYsEyWGk/видео.html
Pan TheOrganizer oh yeah, learned a lot on that video. I went with the 3.0 UK as instructed. For interior dash, car pro Perl is the way to go for UV protection?
I clean my Weathertech mats as you showed, but I use 303 Protectant as the final conditioner and leave it on for a few minutes before wiping off. Yes they are somewhat slick after that, but look amazing and stay looking new.
Awesome video pan you never sease to amaze me, the results surly speak for themselve. Detailed mats. I used to put protection on them, but I stopped because of complaints of customers. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Soak with Purple Power, blast with pressure washer, let dry in Sun while moving on to interior, spray with wd40 and wipe it in with shop towel and done. I could do 10 Weathertechs in the time you did one.
@@danielgriffin7090 Weathertech mats are fairly slippery out of the box. If you work in the wd40 with a shop rag it will absorb it and after a few applications will actually make it less slippery. Don't just spray it and leave it. Rub it, or massage it, into mats.
@@donschlonski2936 bullshit. Next time you clean lawn mower soak it with wd40, ATVs soak them, storing guns soak them. Don't know where your getting your info. Mats degrade from friction due to shoes.
Thanks Pan! I had actually just needed to clean my weathertechs I bought last week for my car as I bought another brand for better coverage. I used Simple Green, let it sit and scrubbed. Came out almost like new but still showed dirt. I'll use this procedure in a few months when I clean my other mats, thank you!
If the mats are protected like shown, it makes cleaning easy. Just like a super disgusting vehicle. Once you pressure wash it, the majority of the big dirt and grime is knocked off. It's not 100% clean at that point, but dramatically better, ready to be hand washed. Same applies here. Also, I made an updated floor mat cleaning tutorial using just one product for cleaning and rejuvenating here: ruclips.net/video/axG31w_Mw1c/видео.html
Wow I didn’t realize I can use stoners trim shine without making the mat too slippery! I’m going to try that as I always wondered how to get my mat looking new again. Every time I used all purpose cleaner to clean my weather tech mats, they always looked dull but didn’t want to put something that would make my feet slip. Thanks again Pan!
I'm detailing a semi truck interior. It's got ribbed rubber floors bur the dirts is caked on. What would you recommend to get the dirt out? My drill brush doesn't even loosen the dirt. Even a pick has a tough time.
Does Stoners Trim Shine leave the mat greasy or slick? I’m currently using Superior’s Aqua Gloss diluted 1:1 and even after knocking it down with a dry towel, it’s still a bit slick for a few days. Will Stoner’s Trim Shine be a better (and safer) product to use on Weather Tech floor mats?

I live in Michigan so I know dirty car mats. I take mine to a do it yourself car wash. $1.00 later they r power washed scrubbed and looking good. I take them and hang them up to dry. Easy.
We don't measure durability of interior products. At one point, one has to draw the line. Regular maintenance is needed with floor mats anyways, as they get hammered in our winter weather. Once a month should be good enough. Here's my most recent rubber mat cleaning tutorial by the way: ruclips.net/video/ea11kHw-YNA/видео.html

Exactly! It’s mind boggling to me. The video is meant to show the technique, regardless of the state of the matts.
Thanks for sharing. Here's my more recent rubber mat detailing tutorial: ruclips.net/video/gKWPt3DAM9U/видео.htmlsi=tfYRAiHbZus3f0K2
Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on RUclips as we surpassed 1 million subscribers and we have over 147 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.
You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
Thank you for this Pan, I’ve always struggled to get rubber mats looking good!, for this reason I changed to carpet ones, mmm maybe now is time to dig them out of the cupboard and try your technique on them x.
Thanks Katie!
A tip from a dad with messy kids and floor mats with a years worth of caked on junk. Just drive to nearby self-service car wash with clamps on wall for floor mats and have at them with the power wash. Easy peasy
Gone through a Canadian winter? Where in B.C? Mine have gone through a Canadian winter and looks 10x worse.....just saying no disrespect intended.
I live in Quebec.
Thanks Dan!
I love spring rolls!
How did you discover my channel by the way?
Very helpful...just cleaned my mats and the shine is great! Thank-you👍
Thanks!
@@PanTheOrganizer any chance you can help me create my own tyre shine product from natural oils and ingredients ect uk
I washed my floor mats first then spray it with tire shine n presto!! Looking shiny n new😀
Good job Pan. I found a patch test works well if you haven't used a product before. Nothing worse than slippy mats. 😁👍🏻
👍🏻👍🏻
I soak my car's rubber mats in vinegar and baking soda solution for 5 mins then brush it. Wash it off with warm water and let air dry. After they are dried up, they look almost new.
Nice video. I usually use a bit of tire foam on my weathertech mats and they look fantastic, but slightly slippery. I’ve never tried Trim Shine but I’ll give it a shot, thanks.
Thanks Mike!
I just read a review of Trim Shine. That like Back to Black it gets very slippery.
I will not be using this product.
Probably the easiest instructions you've ever done and then get all these negative comments... Just follow the basic instructions and your mats will be cleaner...Pan, are you left handed??? Thanks for the video....
Yes I’m left handed. :)
Great. Can you do a video on cleaning cloth seats? And first
Thanks
I doubt that it would work as well if executed executed elsewhere than a "Canadian Winter", even if several Mounties performed the elaborate procedure (chemicals included). Winters are vastly different in the USA, as you know? lol. Your intense step one effort was all I needed to get the job back to original condition. My wife would be reviving me with a call to 911 if I advanced on to Step two. Hark, my hockey puck is call me!
(Just messing with you, Pan!)
You presented an impeccable video, so, as word of encouragement, keep up the magnificent job you are doing. I couldn't do what you do on RUclips, although I wish I could. May the love of Jesus the Christ continue to abide in you as you endeavor to help people like me!
LOL Thanks Richard
Pan I was confused .... With all due respect I do not see that you cleaned the dirtiest Floor Mat ....
It doesn’t matter what mat or how dirty, what matters is the technique. Why are you confused? This is just a rubber mat cleaning demo...
does the trim shine leave the matt slippery?
I knock the finish down with a microfiber towel. It works for me. For sure it’s a bit more slippery than with no dressing, but test it in an inconspicuous area first.
Awesome advice on cleaning the mats. Michigan is brutal on the interior as well, just like Montreal! Mat looked great when you were finished. Keep up the great work Pan!
Thanks Todd!
👍🏻👍🏻
great video Pan,
greetings from monterrey , mexico
Thanks Luis!
With an arm that fast you should be playing baseball! 😂 Thanks Pan. A nice concise, relevant video👍
Ahaahaha good one!
Thank you Pan for another great video, I’ve learned a tremendous amount just watching your videos. I would like to know what water hose nozzle that is for the reason of that I like how it sprays a wide fan pattern.
Thanks Chad! It’s an Eley Hose Reels professional sprayer nozzle set.
Madness😂. You have so much patience. I am done with step 3
😅
Nice and quick video.
Please make video on how to clean, dry and wax the honey comb grill.
I am finding it tough to maintain on my car
Thanks!
The magic is to use the right products and technique. Like 👍🏻
:)
Awesome video Pan!! I’ll have to try that Stoner trim shine on my Weather Techs next time. Clean greasy rubber mats are a nightmare. Thanks for the tip 👍👍
Thanks!
I use a pressure washer with soap, scrub brush, then hang them vertically and spray them with tire dressing. Works perfectly every time.
A hose some dawn and a sponge lol
Where is the very dirty mats
That won’t do it, the mats will look dirty after drying
I hear people say they don’t have time to clean stuff like that. 3 minutes and It looks practically new
Exactly. I hate excuses. If you make time for things, it can be done.
Hey Pan, do you have a go to spray bottle? I keep buying ones that break easily and/or leak
Go to home depot and get ZEP bottles...Best bottles I've ever used!
These ones are decent: amzn.to/2Evd249
But these are my favourite as they are super high quality: amzn.to/2BLCGzR
The car mat went from old to new. Thank you for showing a before and after product.
Thanks Traci !
How did you discover my channel?
Pan TheOrganizer
I discovered your channel by searching car detailing. Your videos are awesome and provide step-by-step instructions on everything car related. I wish I can convert my garage to look like yours. I’ve always took pride in my vehicles. Since watching your videos I’ve learned a lot and can’t wait until the weather breaks to do my car. Question: the dryer you use on the mats...i see it’s powered electrically but is that compressed air in the can?
nice simple tutorial video again pan. imagine if we could actually really work that fast when u fast fwd.lol.b well
Lololol that would be awesome!
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan!
👍🏻
Perfect now if only we can get the same "paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan the orginizer" from the French vidoes
:)
We're glad to hear you like Trim Shine! If you haven't tried it, Stoner makes a Trim Cleaner which should do a good job cleaning floor mats like that. Keep up the good work, Pan!
Thanks I appreciate it!! 👍🏻
Its an awesome product I've been using it for years on high end vehicles.
Won’t the trim shine make the Mat slippery
@@jeffr1469 I read a review of the product on Amazon that said it does make things slippery like Back to Black.
Thomas McLaughlin @ yep I just used off brand tire foam on mine but slick as hell for a while 😂😂😂😂
I would be okay on step 1... it will be dirty anyway after 2 days
I do the same thing but I use Adams Tire and Rubber Cleaner. I use interior detailer to finish (like Adams Interior Detailer or Nextzett Cockpit) because there’s no slippery surface then.
Thanks for the video Pan!
Thanks Resham!
If you like Adam's, give their Rubber Mat and Liner Cleaner a try. Three trigger sprays will take care of the dirtiest of mats.
Looks Great Pan ...
Thanks!
I’ll be cleaning my Husky rubber mats once our Ontario winter ends and we get into Spring ...
I'm loving that trim shine

Good clip.
A few rugged macho men (apparently) commented that the mat wasn’t that dirty.
What?

Hehe you’re so right!! Thanks for watching!!
Let's take a shot every time he says crazy Canadian winters😂
Are you drunk now? 😂
I did on completely dirty winter Upstate New York floor mats and your steps worked great!
Great to hear! How did you discover my channel?

I just did this tonight. Thanks so much it’s like new now.
😁👍🏻
Exact process I use. I really like Adam's Eco APC for floor mats.
Cleaning black mats is relatively easy. Could you make a video with cleaning the beige ones? Or familiar with any ?
I clean my Weathertech mats as you showed, but I use 303 Protectant as the final conditioner and leave it on for a few minutes before wiping off. Yes they are somewhat slick after that, but look amazing and stay looking new.
Thanks for sharing
Merci! Ça a sauvé mes tapis Toyota! :)
😁👍🏻
I love WeatherTech Mats.
So do I. They're in all my cars. I also here that Husky mats are popular in USA.
Summary for the TLDW crowd...
1) wash (with pretty much whatever)
2) dry
3) spray on trim/black plastic shine
4) wipe down with microfiber towel
Weathertech is a must if your car sees winter imo.
I agree.
Awesome video pan you never sease to amaze me, the results surly speak for themselve. Detailed mats. I used to put protection on them, but I stopped because of complaints of customers. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks!
At 2:37 I swear Pan has an insane trigger finger 😂😂
Lolol!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Soak with Purple Power, blast with pressure washer, let dry in Sun while moving on to interior, spray with wd40 and wipe it in with shop towel and done. I could do 10 Weathertechs in the time you did one.
Thanks for sharing!
That's my technique, but I didn't think of wd40. That doesn't make them slippery?
@@danielgriffin7090 Weathertech mats are fairly slippery out of the box. If you work in the wd40 with a shop rag it will absorb it and after a few applications will actually make it less slippery. Don't just spray it and leave it. Rub it, or massage it, into mats.
Wd40 will eat that material over time.
@@donschlonski2936 bullshit. Next time you clean lawn mower soak it with wd40, ATVs soak them, storing guns soak them. Don't know where your getting your info. Mats degrade from friction due to shoes.
Very helpful info. Thanks, Pan!
Glad it was helpful! Here is my updated (and quicker) floor mat cleaning tutorial: ruclips.net/video/ea11kHw-YNA/видео.html
You just answered my question about trim shine, was not sure if it could be used. Have two cans in my arsenal at present, thanks for the tip.
Thanks Pan! I had actually just needed to clean my weathertechs I bought last week for my car as I bought another brand for better coverage.
I used Simple Green, let it sit and scrubbed. Came out almost like new but still showed dirt.
I'll use this procedure in a few months when I clean my other mats, thank you!
Thanks TJ!
Pan you are the best detailer and you speak English and French with great ease.. amazingly talented. For me you are Pan the Master.
Thanks Kunal !!
Thank you for the video, im going to do that on the rubber mats in my dad's car
Thanks for watching Kevin!
We wait the next one paaan fan from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Thanks Bader!
Crazy how all that dirt from a Canadian winter came off so easy with just water from a garden hose. I've seen this trick before.
Thanks Juni!
Just tried this and my floor mats are definitely too slippery now. You probably saw this for yourself, but wanted to warn others.
I like the finish but I knock it down with a microfiber towel. Some people still find it slippery. Test it in an inconspicuous area first.
Couldn’t help but feel I was watching an old Dan Aykroyd SNL parody of some commercial. Ha!
Good video tho.

We don't measure durability of interior products. At one point, one has to draw the line. Regular maintenance is needed with floor mats anyways, as they get hammered in our winter weather. Once a month should be good enough.
